I'm a young African American woman from the "hood." Lol shall I say.. I've never been camping before ever, and I love ur videos, especially the ones where it's lot's of rain. Continue doing content and being as safe as possible 🙏🏾
Most urban areas are within driving distances of state parks that are usually pretty safe for camping. Chicago/Northwest Indiana for example has quite a few DNR properties close by.
@@TheNapalmFTW Yea well u said all that to say what? Im from the South. I live in Virginia and all i have round me is dismal swamp ! How bout you go camp out there. Mr know so much bout the hood. 🤣🤣🤣 sat down! Bless ur heart
@@baddgurrshine4481I think he was just trying to encourage you. Anyway, I hope you’re able to go camping sometime soon, it’s definitely fun. Take care ✌️
There is nothing more satisfying then making a meal from scratch while camping ! It's always my most favourite time of the night. Feeling all full then tucking up into bed nice and cozy and listening to the rain. The only bit i dont like is needing a piss in the middle of the night 😂
I've got to stop watching these camping/cooking trips late at night because it's now almost midnight, I really want spam and eggs but it's too late to start cooking (and I don't have any spam or eggs)😅
Only just started watching your channel, but such calming and relaxing videos. Informative, even my partner says the same and she hates camping. Don't change
I've been enjoying your videos Andy. The camerawork is extraordinary. Watching you camp is reminiscent of watching Bob Ross paint. It does the soul good. I'm always left feeling calm and ready to look at life through a positive lense...especially at those times when the unexpected might force a change of plans. Again, really enjoying your work. Thank you!
I like the way you try out different camping setups - variety and challenges! I really enjoyed the cardboard tent trial, you do good stuff that encourages a lot of people to get out and about.
Best thing for a wasp or hornet sting is vinegar! Put it on the sting right away and the pain immediately decreases! I know!! Also, am going to buy some Spam for the first time since I've been a child! . I'm a million years old now!
Fantastic when autumn is around the corner. Best time of the year when you crawl into the sleeping bag and hear the rain on the tarp. Thanks for sharing another great video and a new dish to try!
I'm not sure why I'm even subscribed to this channel. I've never been camping and I don't like the idea of it at all. Not my thing. But for some reason I'm hooked on watching someone "do" camping. I think it's because I like seeing the gadgets he uses and the way he cooks complete meals outside on a small fire. I was a bit worried about the dinner in this video because I didn't think the meat would be cooked through, but it appears it was. Somehow it's fascinating and quite relaxing to watch. The footage of the badger this time was so clear and bright. It was great.
Hello from Australia! Not sure why but the rainy camping adventures are extra relaxing to listen too but I love your channel! Would you ever consider making a cookbook for all your delish recipes? 🥰
I live in Cz and Spam is a rarely found 'luxury' here. You just reminded me how much I always loved those currently unobtainium Spam fritters that I have not enjoyed for maybe a decade. Thanks!
Hello from Cambridge Massachusetts, U S A. I've been watching all your videos and quite injoy them , I'm 71 years old, and been camping for 50 years in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, im not ready to give it up , not yet anyway. My husband and I love it too much. Our kids and grandchildren are keeping the tradition going. Love and Peace Andy.
If youlike to sleep to the sound of rain ,move to Cumbria , i moved here in January and allready my gills are beginning to show ;) It is a lovely place to live though .
not really into this kind of stuff, i mainly watch car channels but as others have said, this dude is fastly becoming one of my fav channels, love watching his little adventures and so relaxing and easy to watch, awesome videos keep up the work Andy. oh and the hornet yeh, i accidently came across a nest just the other week, got stung a total of 18 times, yes...yes it definite hurts.
My little boy keeps asking me why I keep watching the camping man 😆 I said because I love watching his content. It's relaxing, cheers me up. If my back wasn't as bad as it is I'd love to camp out but unfortunately it's motorhome camping for me. Love your content ty for helping me get through my long days xx ps the food looks amazing you have many talents xx
i dunno why i love your channel so much more than all the other camping channels nowadays, its just raw, cold, brutal camping, right next to nature, with just a small simple shelter and a large campfire, the only thing u indulge in is the food......so much better than all the "camping" channels nowadays with the girls that bring their minivans and off road vehicles and all their living room and bedroom furniture.....
Thanks for inspiring me to face my fears, get back out there, travel further, and push the boundaries of my comfort zone. It hasn't always worked out, but it's always worth the experience.
Great watch as usual, only problem is they always make me feel hungry. Having binged watched Simons I am now slowly working through your channel and thoroughly enjoying it!👏
Honestly Andy, I 100% share your love of the colder, wetter, 'worse' weather. I bumble through summer, smiling like everyone else that the sun is shining. "isn't it a beautiful day" everyone says, when all you're doing is sweating your tits off. Me? Give me the other three seasons any day. Being in the rain in a woodland is a joy. Frost, snow? Everyone complains of the nights drawing in. Why?! It's cosy, secure. Bring it on!
Randomly stumbled across your channel during a classic late evening binge, love the videos! Great structure, the cooking segments are brilliant and love how it's just you describing your experience as if to a mate! Keep it up!
Hi Andy the sun is beautiful shining through the trees, the sound of the rain on the tarp so tranquil makes you want to sleep ,hope your foot feels better, stay safe
I enjoy your channel. I don't camp much now but I need a new cot. They are good to have handy. I like the one you use, it looks sturdy. Aloha from Hawaii
I find your videos so enjoyable... soothing if I'm a bit frazzled, interesting and innovative with some great ideas, inspiring and delicious looking campfire food....yummy! Very funny sometimes, and generally a right good use of time!!! Settling down in bed now to watch this one, and really enjoying the sense of anticipation, waiting along with you for the storm. I love thunderstorms, especially at night, with plenty of lightning, although I don't know if I'd be quite so keen if I was under a tarp in the woods at 3am!! Re the bugses, have you tried "Smidge"? I live on the Isle of Skye where the midges are proper fierce and Smidge is good stuff!! Anyway, I really liked this, lots of good stuff to see; thank you so much!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.Edit: Owww hornet stings are really nippy!... and no night time thunderstorm😢 but 'twas good anyway!😊.
Great video once again Andy! One recommendation, don’t use so much oil while cooking. Many things you cook such as spam and steak are fatty enough. Your Doctor is going to be on you for your cholesterol! Just a suggestion from someone who has cooked the same way! Peace ☮️
Hi Kent, I just wanted to say you sure have come a long way since the early days. Your gear and style have improved as you've maintained that pleasant Host Demeanor I have always enjoyed. Thanks for getting me all wet, and catch ya soon. As Always, wishing Blessings your way from Oregon. Mike.
lol, I know the feeling. Waiting for rain in the summer, or snow in the winter. Just to have the weather toy with you... Peaceful video, good cooking, and beautiful camp site. Thumbs up.
Murphy's law. Every damn time. If you knocked out your boots I swear the hornet wouldn't have been there. It's magic that made the hornet appear in your boot, the second the universe saw you were gonna skip it. You have been officially punished lol
Nice one again Andy, got to be my favourite setup, closer to nature but nice and dry... I have the Ryaco 3x3 tarp for hammocking and love it... Cot bed looks good to may have to invest in one...ATB Chris.
love watching this guy. Makes me want to pack some gear an get out. Must admit tho I have used a few cooking recipes whilst av been out night fishing so thanx for that. Keep the videos coming 🤠
Howdy from Arizona! Love your videos Andy been a subscriber for 3 years these are one of my favorite things to watch great content and excellent quality👍Keep up the great work
love your videos, reminds me when my wife and i went camping on our first trip, we bought a large tarp and it really rained bad and when the wind came up it blew the rain right under the tarp, we were soaked, finaly took the tarp down and just went to sleep under it... after that we bought a good tent... the only thing i don't like about your videos is that your cooking makes me drool... lol
Thanks for your videos. Love them. Just wanted to say thank you. You have no idea how much you're helping people. I'm stuck at home with long covid. I loved being outdoors. For now lm doing this through your videos. I appreciate you 😊
Awesome as always, Andy. 😬 😳 I'm so sorry about the sting. What a drag to get stung right when you wake up. I mean, I suppose it doesn't matter what time a day it is. A sting is a sting yikes 😬 😳 and it hurts like you don't want to believe. Hope it's all better now, it should be, lol. I'm a little behind but coming in quickly, lol. Thank you for sharing your awesome adventures and for all the hard work and time you put into these awesome videos. You're Awesome. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU 🤗HUGS🤗
Only just discovered your channel, brilliant mate. Can only echo a comment below - like watching Bob Ross paint. I came for advice on what tent to buy after my £30er gave up this summer and I've been sat here watching for about 4 hours!
Andy getting stung on the foot is probably the worst spot you could get it. Being the fact you put your foot in your boot and you are walking round it will not be fun. Funny you say it is the first time. I’ve been bit by fire ants, wasps, yellow jackets, bees, and a new one to me a sweat bee. The little bugger stung me on the palm between the pinky and the ring finger. Within no time my hand swelled up to twice the size.
I love your videos It is evident that you enjoy what you are doing. I am disabled. And would love to go camping in the snow. Wish I could participate on another one of your adventures. I like beer too.😊
Hi Andy Love watching your videos. Just found you about a week ago. You have something very special and engaging about you. A joy to watch💞🙏☺️ Ps "Don't forget the Aerogard, and 'ave a good weekend". (famous Aussie ad for bug spray). Cheers from Oz.
I just can’t think of anything original to say about you. You are next level in all you do. I wish you upload more but hey that’s me being selfish. I can see the hard work and effort you put in.
I have just cooked these Lebanese Reyez or however you spell it. They are great for camping. Our 6 year old is getting them down her too. Really tasty, really simple and a real flavour bomb. Thanks chief. Lovin the vids having only just discovered your channel. 👍👍👍
Hi Andy. After seeing you eating a Halloumi sandwich, I persuaded my wife to make me some because I am bedbound. They tasted just like bacon sandwiches. Now, after seeing those concoctions, I am tempted to ask her to make me some of those as well. I loved the crunchiness of them. I can’t remember the name of them though.
Subscriber for awhile, but don't comment, so this is my first. Love the vids BTW. Early on, you mention no tie out for a prussic, small stone/wood underneath tarp cinched around gives you a tie out point. Was there a specific reason you didn't use that method?
So look forward to Wednesday and seeing your episode Andy, love everything about yr channel, the set up the cooking and the weather lol. Have you got any more canoe trips with Simon planned. Maxx
Poor Andy I know how much them stings throb..u tend to get hornets frequent wooded areas in the uk they attracted to the lamp as well ,l got stung by a queen wasp one year..flipping well stung for a good 24 hours after ,I find really hot water takes the power out of it..then a cream anti itch one. Hope it feels better soon…maybe a tent better instead of a tarp next time..I guess. It’s easier to film n cook under a tarb. Oh n shake them boots next time .
Nice relaxing video. Your wasp encounter reminded me of my first encounter with a wasp when I was 8/9: my cousin and I found a wasp just sitting on the sidewalk, not moving, like it was dead. Cousin wanted to step on it, but she was barefoot, so she told ME to step on it, I had socks on. The wasp was NOT dead. The good thing was I got to stay home from school for two days because I couldn't walk, so I know the pain you are going through. Thanks for the memory.
