As I prepare the Appalachian Trail, take my hammock out for an overnight at Afton State Park. Great food included Korean BBQ and breakfast hash. A peaceful night alone by the campfire was fallowed by a long pre breakfast hike to break in my new shoes. Warm temperatures changed overnight to a cool morning.

You may be a bit surprised, or maybe not, at the weather. This time of year it’s up and down. But I do know there was sleet and a few flurries up on Blood Mountain. And surprise! A few of the hikers decided to go to hostels because of the weather. Good luck to you.

Yep! I’ve been following 2 or 3 and they had freezing rain and a few flurries with lows in the twenties. Of course that’s in the higher elevations of Georgia.
