Welcome to Autmazing! We talk a lot about autism around here because we are a family with five kids and a mom who is autistic. We believe that autism acceptance is extremely important. We also post videos daily (or almost daily), about topics that we feel are important and sometimes there's a vlog thrown in too. We think it's important to see that being autistic is just that- another way of being human. You'll get glimpses of what's going on at the moment in our lives, usually in a little town in the midwest.
We are a family of 6, with a Mom named Cammie. Sadie is 15, Maggie is 13, Patrick is 11, James is 9, and Tessie is now 7!

I found it so sweet that Sadie and Maggie had a little teenage bonding time on the walk. It’s hard being a teenager, it’s hard being an autistic teenager, it’s hard being an autistic teenager going through a significant change in life but they have each other. It’s also a little reminder that you are all going to be ok.

‘OH CRAP, I thought that was Tessie!’ Poor James was going through it. The result of being the big brother to a fearless little daredevil. As a big sister to one of those, I relate 😂 I’ve loved your videos for years. As an autistic girl with a neurodiverse sibling group, it’s so cool to see other families like us. Sometimes it can feel like we’re the only ones.. it’s cool to see we’re not. It’s a dynamic not everyone gets, but I wouldn’t have it any other way 💓

Cammie you're an inspiration 🎉to me. You are so connected with your kids, and they obviously like and love each other. I'm trying every day to flip the ENERGY switch on!! Some days I do great but not all. Exhausted.

❤ I think you had mentioned one of your kids had a pda profile of autism? Can you do a video on that if I remembered that correctly since there isn’t a lot of awareness surrounding pda. My son is PDA :-) love you guys … you are awesome!!!!

I’ll definitely put it on my list of ideas! I know I’ve thought about doing one in the past but I felt like I was still learning so much about it that I was nervous I’d miss something big and not do the topic justice.

Hiking is a good activity for ASD. Gets you into nature and away from all the distractions and over-stimulation of society. 😎👍

29f when we were on the walk. It felt colder than that to me though.

@christyg1236 I wished I’d brought a jacket once we got to the trail. This time of year right around freezing doesn’t always feel very cold to us, but after a few seventy degree days I was so cold!

That wooded area is so neat! It wasn’t too long ago that Maggie was the one running ahead. She was slow and lagging today. Is she feeling ok? Maybe a little depressed?

It’s one of our favorite places. Since hitting her teen years Maggie is definitely more of a slow stroll walker, although that’s a relief after those running years 😂

Kind of? I got it last year with a hundred thirty thousand miles on it after my old van finally died. It’s twelve years old. And when it broke down after three months of owning it the shop quoted me nineteen thousand dollars to fix everything that should be fixed. I love it but I have a feeling it’s not what you think. But at least it gets me from point a to be point b for now.

We have two pups. Libby just turned two. Apollo is Patrick’s dog that we got at the shelter. We went in intending to foster over Thanksgiving because they were advertising that they needed people to do that but then Patrick and Apollo met and it was love. 😂 Usually walking I have one or the other, especially now, because he’s 62 lbs and she’s 86 and while they’re good separately they get wild together.

@@Autmazing I feel ya. I fostered so many dogs from a no-kill place. I also fostered 2 pure bred expensive dogs that have seizures (from birth) both owners dumped them. Somehow the 2 dogs ended up permanently with me. It’s terrible ppl buy puppies that have slight issue and get rid of them. The foster dogs I had were fantastic. It just makes me ill. I am sure your 2 dogs will settle down. Thanks for responding. Love from Florida. Kelly

Now that Libby is two she’s starting to settle a lot, but Apollo is a hilarious whirlwind. He spends a serious portion of each day trying to befriend the cats by bringing them toys and staring adoringly at them and then getting hissed at and running back to me. He’s determined though. The funny thing was there were three elderly dogs I’d looked at online to foster, but somehow we ended up with the puppy. 😂 It’s lovely that you’ve got your pups through fostering. I had a feeling that if we did it would be difficult to bring them back.

@@Autmazing all the dogs I fostered including many many liters of puppies all found forever homes. They would stay 1 day -4 weeks tops. The dogs with medical issues are at my place forever. Grateful they are small dogs. This is a 1 pound Apple head chiccahua ,shitzu and min pin . The Apple head was born with water on brain and heart defect. He has been fine though. Other 2 dogs seizures So cute Apollo trying to befriend the cat. They are both beautiful dogs. So sorry your going through this divorce. I know it is so hard. My best friend is going through it now and I see first hand how awful it is along with how bad the court system is. She learned lot of info from facebook group regarding divorce. It’s support group for women knowledge and guidance. She obtain a lawyer.
