Shouldn't that be "palettes"? When I worked for Grumbacher, we loaded pallets of 'colorful' paints onto trucks. SInce we also sold art supplies, we must've loaded pallets of palettes, too! Sorry, I couldn't resist!

I understand Call & Response are two elements, one preceding the other... Sorry, my mind is trying to create a question & is unsure how to phrase it. At some point I could see your examples turning contrapuntal. Am I way off-base here? or am I wandering around in the woods?
