going to have to look Into these rules. well done. well filmed and a great narrative campaign.👍👍👍 since taking a deep dive into miniatures(28mm mostly) been using Wiley games Fistful of Lead core set rules. he has room sets for fantasy black powder wasteland and more. recently I did a 22-figure per side skirmish/battle game mainly orcs versus some ogres and undead. as we all know Orc's rule Ogres drool!!!
Good stuff. I should have another AOFS campaign coming later in the summer but in the meantime, I hope you continue to enjoy this one and have fun with your own
Glad to see you playing an OPR campaign! It would be nice to see the campaign rules fleshed out with more upgradable options (bigger traits list, Relics) and less random tables so that you could customize your army to your taste. Would you say GrimDark Firefight games play faster?
Possibly, but I think the current options available reflect the "light" approach of OPR. The random elements can get a bit wearying but you could house-rule that you pick instead. I find the skirmish games do play quicker; fewer models to move, fewer dice to roll and count, less frequent morale tests etc.
A potential compromise for the level up selection stuff if the other players really want the random traits is to roll for normal level ups, but if you recruit a new unit with the bonus XP you get to choose that first trait, under the logic of your warband specifically seeking out the specialist in question and paying the premium for recruiting them
Really enjoyed the report. Can't say more because I don't want to spoil it for future viewers, but it was worth watching all the way to the last die roll. :-)
On turn 3 when Swampy charged the stunned unit I think it does count as attacking since the rule is hits automatically land with no need to role for wounds. However since he has multiple attacks he could have used the area attack rules to attack one of the nearby enemy units within 3", minus the one attack that would knockout the stunned model.
Great campaign so far, not finished watching ( will edit comment if got any more stuff) but on 4:30 you made 1 save for 3 arrows, later made 2 saves on 2 arrows, which one would be the correct roll? Thanks beforehand, really enjoying your content
Hi there. The shooting at 4:30, of the 3 arrows that were fired, only 1 of them hit (they hit on a roll of a 5 or more, and of the three dice rolled, there were two 3s and a 6, so only 1 scored a hit) so only 1 save was needed. I guessing the other incident you're asking about is the shooting at around the 9:30 mark, where two of the arrows hit (dice were two 5s and a 2, so two hits and one miss) so two save rolls were needed; one for each hit. Thanks for watching
