Recently looked at tongue blocking.... Playing the -3 and quickly switching back to the draw chord is much simpler when you just block holes 1 and 2. So doing this makes we practice rhythm, improvising and tongue blocking while sounding good (when it works out) at the same time. Very usefull!
Tomlin... Bro you kinda ruined my youtube you know ? . Couse i barely use it anymore to listen my fave music. I just dont want the algorythm to change... So i keep getting your lessons. Therefore ... I only open youtube app when i have my harmonica around. 😂🤘😎 That's the power of your lessons. 🤝
Hey Tomlin this might be your best lesson you've ever taught .... Seriously .... You learn to play rhythm plus it makes you get creative ... Practice your scales twenty minutes in the mourning then in the evening practice this exercise... Both exercises are fun and that's what it's all about haven fun .... Great lesson your best , great job keep up the great work plus your a great player yourself .....
this is the best travelling instrument, I've taken a harp overseas and it completely kills boredom when you have nothing to do but sit there and feel sorry for yourself
Just started playing the blues harmonica. Had to give up cigar box guitar because of arthritis in the thumbs. This little lesson really opened my ears to the rhythmic possibilities of the harp. And no thumb pain 😁👍
Been trying to get this concept since starting. Thank you for doing a lesson specifically on this Playing in the car with the radio always sounded way better than when I would try to play alone for my wife or friends. Good to know how to not sound bad and do a disservice to harping
Your lessons are Great! always a help!, but, we really need (2-3) of the lil Phrases/Riffs U play in the Improvise part . . can U give us that . . . ? Josh, in Orlando, across the Big Pond, ha
This is great.... Recently watched videos about chugging and have been thinking about ways to chug and put licks in and amongst it. Then as if by magic you post this! Quick question... If I wanted to do this along a full 12 bar blues, how would the chord sections play out? What you've explained here would fit for the 1 chord wouldn't it? What about the 4 and 5? Would I just need to change the single notes played before the chords?
i love your lessons, ty so much. is there a tactile way to feel a harp is right side up or NOT ... before blowing a note duh. 'cause some venues (ie hot tub) are dark
This isa definite issue with playing harmonica. Some of my students put a bit of masking tape on the bottom of the harmonica so that they know what it should feel like.
I feel my problem is I'm too creative. I get my hands on a harmonica, I want to make stuff up like a baby playing with a toy, and compose my own tunes, thinking I have the general idea. at least your videos and other resources online show me how the masters actually sound good.
