Friday, June 28, 2024.
I am now in Brussels after driving from Amsterdam.
The places I visited are as follows.
Number 1, Upside Down Amsterdam. This museum is about optical illusions and there are rooms with furniture on the ceiling as if they're upside down.
Number 2, Museum Vrolik in Amsterdam. It is about human and animal anatomy. There were deformed skeletons and babies in jars, some with two heads. That was what I came for. Unfortunately, taking videos wasn't allowed in that museum, so I will not be able to share that here in RU-vid. Sorry. For the record, it was gross.
Number 3, Mini-Europe in Brussels. It is a place showing small replicas of landmarks from across Europe.
Number 4, Atomium in Brussels. It is a museum and art center in a large model of an iron crystal cell.
Enjoy the video.

It was a lot more interesting than I thought. Especially the pictures from the World Expo in 1958.

Brussels looks like a really neat place! But I was surprised that the signs at Mini Europe are in English - as it's in Brussels, they should be in French, Dutch, and German. I then thought that the majority of the park visitors are most likely from the UK. Aww....you felt like you broke up with the Waldorf Hotel Amsterdam? I think you'll be staying there again, given how much you loved it.

Unlike the rest of Europe, English is widely spoken in both Belgium and the Netherlands, more so in Belgium. I think it is because there are three official languages and nobody could agree on which one would be the lingua franca of the country. One would resent the other so they picked a language that is not one of the three. Same thing with France and UK disagreeing on English as the official language of the E.U. The butt-hurt French said, "Okay, fine then, American English, not British English."
