@@sickowhale6861 As a trumpet player of 4 years. Its possible to play with two trumpets. I obviously get the joke but some people here dont understand humour
I was okay with that. But had he moved it further down the torso I was ready to cry foul!! Even so. What a genius. I'm a trumpeter. He was really playing those two parts (until the ear bit).
I love how the comment below me needs to explain why its impossible to play a trumpet with one's ears. Thanks for setting us all straight on that! You're doing a real service to us all...
The Notes Are C# D, C# D, E Eb C# D, C# D, B C, C# C B C, Bb B, B C B Bb B C A, B A F# G A G. Then You Take It Up An Octave And Stuff... Cheers! (Bb Trumpet)
Playing two trumpets at once is not that hard. Playing it out of your nose is possible but really hard. But there's no way you can play out of your ear.
LMFAO two trumpets at once is possible, but you'd have to build the very sides of your lips to work separately. Whoever said circular breathing is a dumb ass, circular breathing does not mean you have the ability to buzz your fucking nose. circular breathing is just breathing in through your nose while you exhale through your moth. its very difficult.
Wow!!! This is incredible! I didnt know you could play out your nose and ears like that! I try playing two trumpets with my mouth and i suck. This guy must have practiced for a long time to get all those notes and to learn how to play using his ears! amazing
@@RiverNatural no, its fake.... notice how he's playing out of his nose... while you can do that on recorder, on brass instruments that simply is impossible
My music teacher show us this in class yesterday 19 apr 11.When it came to the part where the audience clap along with the tune, all of us smash our table along with the tune too!
It is COMEDY, this is a COMEDIAN, none of it is meant to be real, it is a comedian entertaining a crowd! I think he is pretty clever to come up with this routine. LMAO!
Very good comedic routine. For those of you who believe any of the duet to be real sorry to disappoint you. As a trumpet player myself, focusing an airstream through different parts of the lips all at once and coming up with such a beautiful sound in two octaves aint gonna happen.
I saw this just yesterday, at first i was believing it, then i thought WTF this is Herb Alpert, and nobody can play like Herb exactly, let alone out of the side of their face...glad there is at least one other TJB fan out here in the RU-vid wilds, haha!
Just so you guys know this, I'm pretty sure what happened is he actually performed the mid section with both trumpets by himself, bowed as if to acknowledge that audience may clap, and then pulled off a joke, playing out his nose and ears, when actually who were playing were the other trumpet players in the band behind him, just to make it somewhat silly and ridiculous, what have you.
My band directer showed us this when one my friends started doing this. He is really out of tune but he can play two trumpets. We all sounded stupid watching this, "wow, he is really in tune!" "wow, is he playing with his nose?!" "wow."
Fake. No way he can tongue 32nd notes with his nose and ears. Also, assuming he COULD play with his nose and ears, his tone wouldn't sound exactly the same as it did when he played with his mouth because when he played with his mouth he used his diaphragm, lips, teeth, and mouth structure to make his tone.
Making air pass through the trumpet isn't sufficient to make the instrument play... You must make the air vibrate and to do that you need your lips - the ear or the nose can't produce a vibration like the lips
Its fake because if you notice the last thing he plays with his ear he takes the trumpets off and there was an extra note when they were off plus you have yo buzz and you can't buzz with your nose or ear.
Just in case anyone was wondering if this is fake or impossible Ill tell you that I am a trumpet player and i can do that so don't diss what you can't do
I thought it may have been real until he started playing with his nose. No way you could get enough pressure through you nose to play, and even if you could its impossible to buzz your nose, I'm sure all fellow brass players can agree.
You can play out of a side embouchure with practice. What takes a lot of practice is doing it in two places. Also, this video was a joke. He played out of his ears. You're dumb.
+seth Mitchell wtf r u talking about dude if ur good at trupet u just use a proper aperture and blow straight through the horn and it will create the vibration for you. you dont have to buzz ur lips. in fact you arent supposed to buzz, buzzing is just meant to be an exercise to build your chops. and like jar3d said it was a fukin joke dude
its quite easy actually you simply stretch ur lips to the side and play the same way u normally do. Ive have experience trying it its quite fun if you can find something decent to play
I mean....the double trumpet from his lips...understandable.......the trumpet duo from his nose...eh...from his ears........completely hilarious, since blowing that much air out your ears would blow your eardrums haha
For those who think this is possible: just listen to the last note played. You will notice that the note is played when there are no trumpets on any noses or ears whatsoever. In other words - this was fake.
@jonasreader101 he "played along with a recording, I give him props, he didn't miss a beat, but it's a recording, the song is called "Zorba the Greek" by Herb Alpert. Good song, hilarious rendition.
Thomas Gansch from Mnozil Brass actually played a trumpet and a flugelhorn simultaneously for a few seconds in their show this year. I could actually hear the two voices coming from the bells of both instruments, so it wasn't fake. Unlike this guy, who starts faking the moment he picks up the second trumpet.
This can definately be done as I watched it done on the Celebrity eclipse cruise ship on the 11th june, it was absolutely amazing. It was the same tune as well but not fake like this guy. Im sure some of you guys will still say its fake and cant be done but trust me as ive seen it live from about 10 feet away!!! If anyone can tell me the name of this tune tho I would appreciate it...cheers
Yes I did. (I apologize, I didn't mean circular breathing, I meant multiphonics.) I put one hand to my mouth, one to my nose to feel the air, and I did. In fact, the way I exhaled, it agitated my nose to the point that I had to sneeze... twice.
Wow ppl!!! Its just entertainment. U folks take life 2 seriously. His face expresses amusement. The audience was feelin the show. Learn 2 think critically and logically.
This is obviously fake, but this video inspired me to experiment with playing multiple brass instruments at the same time. I can't do anything remotely like this, but I can play different notes on two different trumpets at the same time, and I can play a trumpet and an alto horn at the same time. There's something to the concept, but it's much more of a novelty than something musically useful, because good tone is pretty well impossible to produce.
