This is the full video of my hike around the Goodwater Loop in Georgetown, TX. This hiking/backpacking loop runs around Lake Georgetown. This loop is a rarity among Texas Backpacking as it is not apart of a State Park, National Park, or National Forest. This is also definitely not a wilderness trek. But it is conveniently located for the majority of Texans to access as a 1 or 2 night trip. This would be a great loop for a newer backpacker who wants to try something a little longer.
I did this trip in March of 2023. You'll notice throughout the video, a lot of damage to the parks and trees throughout the loop from an ice storm that had his the area before my trip. However, by the time I hiked it, I got very warm/beautiful weather. I did my hike as an overnight trip on a weekday and did not encounter very many other hikers throughout my journey.
Just as a side note, I have spent more hours trying to edit this video than many of my other projects combined. Continuous computer/editing problems throughout the process to where I finally gave up for several months. So sorry for the delay. Hopefully all the info in this video helps some of you plan your Goodwater Loop hike in the future. Thanks for watching!
