As a semi driver with a 28 year accident free record, I can attest that speed and bad decisions kill. Slow it down, stop tail gating, put the phone down, drive sober and pay attention. We all want to get home to our loved ones safely, and I hate seeing tragedies like this. God bless and be safe out there.

Absolutely. Definitely slow it down. You can go the speed limit and still get to your destination in roughly the same time you would have if speeding. And tailgating is deadly. Lost a family friend a few years ago because she was following behind a vehicle. The car suddenly swerved into the other lane revealing a stalled box truck right in front of them. She rear ended it at a high rate of speed. She didn’t die instantly. She died painfully as first responders tried to pry her from the wreck. It taught me to always leave plenty of space to be able to react.

I have a Teenage niece who just got a speeding ticket for 40 over the speed limit. She acted like she didn’t do anything worng. I look up a few of your vids and showed her what happens with speed and 0 experience. Showed her one of your videos of Family members screaming and crying finding out a love one just passed because of bad drive and poor choices. Her face went from annoyance to pale white. She threw up and started crying saying “i didn’t think it would look that bad.” That was 5 months ago. Now she is a extremely safe and good driver. Her dad said the app for her car shows her barely going the speed limit. And her friends say she a slow and boring driver. I know it might have traumatized her. But she knows now what can happen in a few seconds. You should really tour schools and show what you see in your job. You could open so many eyes!

@4everfreethinker 3 года назад
Good. I'm glad her friends think that, which means she's driving responsibly. However, what they should be thinking about and being grateful for is that she cares about their safety. Too many others don't truly give a flying fart about who's in the car with them when they drive irresponsibly/recklessly. That is one of the biggest contributors of these horrendous accidents. Riders complaining and hounding the drivers to go faster, to go around, you should race that guy . . . Just shut the hell up and enjoy your safe and controlled ride from Point A to Point B. If someone were to tell me that I drive too slow and that the ride is boring, I would gladly and safely pull over and tell them to get out and walk.

With folks saying that this stuff should be blurred, censored for privacy/whatever, I disagree. Highly disagree, and here is why. Some folks watch videos like this to see what the FFs, PD, EMTs, etc go through on the job, outside what the 'Documentaries' show. Folks that want to know the end all worst of it, see vids like this to understand, this is what really goes on. Not the shit you see on Discovery, Rescue Me, etc.

Indeed, and that's why this vid has the age warning indeed. It's a harsh reality, but -this- is the reality of Emergency Services, and folks need to be able to understand that if they are wanting to join up with them for sure.

@THEFINALHAZARD
@THEFINALHAZARD 9 лет назад
RU-vid isn't against Graphic COntent in this case, as it's a press release by all definitions[See US 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights], and it's clearly titled 'GRAPHIC'. RU-vid acknowledges it, too, as of the age-restriction on the video. And no a FDs job is NOT to keep it private, our job is to save lives, that's it. And the reason most depts don't show vids like this is because they're around on youtube or they can't find them on youtube.

As a kid I was cursed to be involved in multiple fatal accidents, being under 10 years old now 39 I’m still traumatized by the loud explosion sounds, metal twisting, tire screeching, the screaming, the crying when your loved ones are laying dead in the street for not wearing a seat belt or smashed inside the vehicle. Danger starts the moment you turn on the ignition and the 1st worst mistake you can make is forget you are driving inside your potential coffin. Drive safe. Share the road and be patient. Pay attention or die.

He said a group of young people had been speeding when coming up to a roundabout; eyewitnesses said they had their hands (and possibly arms) hanging out the windows. R.I.P to the person who was killed in such a horrible way. Let this be a reminder though to everyone that wearing your seatbelt can save your life in one of these accidents. I'm assuming the person was ejected and crushed by the truck (as you can tell by the blood all over the door) and the other occupants were either lucky to not have been killed if they were ejected or they were belted in the truck. Very sad situation. Hopefully alcohol wasn't a factor too as they said the fatality was a passenger and not the driver.

When I was a teenager one of my dearest friends was killed in a car accident. She got into a convertible sports car with her friend that was drunk, she thought she could help him drive more safely, sigh. He went around a 15 MPH curve at 75 MPH, he lost control, rolled the car, she was thrown her out and it dragged her for several yards before coming to a stop. Her leg was torn off and her skull was crushed. I was pretty shocked when I went to her funeral and her casket was open. They did place a sheer drape over the casket but you could still see her. I was amazed that they could make her look presentable. The driver died in the ambulance but they revived him, his arm was torn off and they attempted to reattach it. I don't know what happened to him I didn't know him, never wanted to. He was 19, she was 16, I think of her every year on the anniversary of her death and this was decades ago. I am sure the people that have to work with kids and teens to prepare them for a funeral can't help but feel a sense of sadness.

Have you done your time in an ER yet? Have you been to any fatal car wrecks? I am a first responder, I have seen such sad and bad things even before I got my training, When I was only 10 years old I saw a man commit suicide by running in front of a semi. His head was decapitated and his skull was some 200 yards away in a field by the highway. We were the vehicle that was right behind the semi and when my dad swerved to miss the body, he stopped right by the side of the decapitated man. I was in the seat right behind my dad, so I saw the dead man. I couldn't stop looking at his decapitated body until my dad got out and grabbed the headless man by his hands and arms and took him to the other side of the highway. My dad was a trucker, even though we were in our station wagon. My dad then went up to the shocked trucker and co-pilot that he tried to talk to them, but they were that much in shock. My dad did get a sheet from them they had for their bed and Dad went on to cover the dead man's body. My dad also found the man's skull in the field as some of the other truckers stopped to help the highway patrol to find other body parts. I have stopped at so many accidents both where alive patients were and at death sites. My dad's bravery to do what things he did helped me to help people when they are at their worst. I pray you never have to see some of the things I saw when my dad was trucking or when he or I helped those alive. I have been at places where I had to call time of death, even my own dad's death, but the coroners give the full paperwork for time of death. I can tell you will see things that you deal with at the time, but will make you cry or have an adrenaline dump after you have done your best for the people. God bless you and keep you.. I would tell you to talk to someone who can handle being told graphic things. Or it will become too much too handle. Bless you again for being in a field that help people. I pray you get through all your schooling and get assigned a good group of people to work with.

Workdaystinky True, watching all these videos and before I found this channel, the Russian and Arab ones you see the difference. Ever since I always buckle up in the backseat, before I mostly did but now always, always. Another recommendation is if at all possible to cross your arms in front of your chest, I’ve seen so many with loss of limbs. We are so fragile really. So even with a seatbelt, if the vehicle rolls, arms quite often fling out...and heads sometimes 😔.

They might not always save lives but they saved mine. Had I been speeding when my steering axle broke I'd be dead. Lost control on an over pass exit doing 62mph slamming into the concrete side. witnesses said my car flipped up onto its front almost throwing me over into water below.They honestly don't know how I survived to be honest. Highway patrolman didn't think I would when I was cut out and airlifted to trauma center. My seat belt caused most of my injuries but it was better than what could have happened. I escaped with a fractured spine in 3 places which required surgery and alot of physical therapy to be able to walk. Broken collar bone and shoulder. Deep Laceration to my right leg which was caused from control panel caving in on it. I had a ruptured right breast (no implants)from seat belt as well. Cuts from glass shattering and landing on me. They told me my son's car seat was totally mangled so had he been with me he'd definitely been killed. I feel extremely lucky to be here.

There's a few different ways to get it unlocked but bottom line is, it's better to have the gurney locked than a gurney flying around freely with a patient on it trying to treat them. Now that's some scary stuff. Been in that situation and it sucks.
@rev1ction

The standard of driving where I live has definitely gotten worse in the last 10 years. As more people move to the area. More schools, more mortgages, more stress and it plays out on the road. More impatience, more people cutting in and out of lanes, more speeding, more tailgating. People seem to forget they are driving a weapon. I think things like this should be shown more. Maybe just maybe then people might remember how important it is for them to arrive to their destination alive.

It's horrible to think that his girlfriend was literally up and walking then to see him laying there and possibly hearing him in his last moments. No one can say that "he was looking at his phone or "he was under the influence"...but he has passed away and he was someone's son, possibly brother, uncle, boyfriend etc. I witnessed a horrific accident about 10 months ago. A black truck went through a intersection on a green light speeding and veered to the left driving directly into a large tree. One young boy in the back seat was removed by witnesses straightaway w/o injury. A young girl was in the front passenger seat and it took a few guys to pry the door open and get her out even though a fire had started under the truck. No one knew about the driver. I was the first call in to 911 and they kept me on until EMS arrived since I was giving consistent info. EMS arrived and diffused the fire. Still no idea of the drivers condition. By this time a large crowd was forming and our vehicle was in the accident zone. About 20 min passed and a careflight touched downed which I was hoping meant the driver was alive. To see a massive tree where the drivers seat was. About 20 to 30 minutes after EMS arrived, they removed the Male driver and as they were rushing him to the Careflight, one of his severely damaged legs was exposed. It wasn't very long before it was all over Facebook that a War Veteran/Seal Team Hero was the driver. He had been honorably discharged from the war in Afghanistan with a TBI. He said that while driving he blacked out, his foot was on the accelerator and had zero memory of the accident. He LIVED...so not every accident happens because of being under the influence, looking at a phone or being distracted in some way. It was a medical emergency that caused the accident which left him as a double leg amputee! His kids were not severely injured but were/are old enough to remember seeing their dad/stepdad in such a gruesome way. No other cars or people were injured. He is a War Hero who has such a HUGE following and an entire town behind him!

It’s like once your last breath leaves, you aren’t a person anymore, you’re a body. Listen next time you here of some kind of accident whether car or work or home, anything that can turn into something more. They talk about how many victims if they are alive, or bodies, if they are dead. It hit me hard. I think it’s how she said it too. The look in her eyes and the tone of her voice. It was really sad.

my middle school friend died when we were 15. she was the only one not wearing a seatbelt in the car. she was ejected through the windshield of her best friends boyfriends truck because they were going too fast on a turn in the rain and lost control and crashed and she hit a fence and died on impact. devestating to all who knew her. rip alex.

2 passengers in the same truck. One suffers horrible fatal injuries. And the 25yo woman just walking around - huh?!
