First time to your channel. I enjoyed the video and subscribed. Keep up the great content mate. Cheers from Oregon.

I just bought that tent, aren't the gaps below the walls a problem in cold weather?

What surprised me is how compact the entire system is and how prep'd you were.....Nice touch with the Milky Way dessert.....LOL!!😎

Gotta love a Milky Way :) I really like how compact it is so that I can get out there without a pulk sled.

I wonder, why your channel is named ‘Restless wonderer’ instead of Restless Wanderer? It seems by going out camping, you actually do wander…but maybe it’s because you’re wondering where to pitch the tent?

I use an Ti poop shovel tied to a stick to remove ash/embers. I put the unwanted ashes in my cook pot, then dispose of it outside.

I carry the mini peak xl in summer with the winter internal tent, it keeps bugs out and gives you a HUGE porch to set gear.

I really meant that coals needed to die down. I didn’t want a big mound.

That is a terrible stove design, and heavy for it's pack size...I can have my Seek Outside Cub U turn going for at least 4-5 hours, or until I'm ready to go to bed, then I throw a couple of biggish logs in, close the damper and vents down and let it slowly burn itself out overnight. In the morning I only have a shallow layer of ash no more than about 1/2" deep in the bottom and I don't need to get out of the comfort of my sleeping bag to empty it...I just throw another Strider Hexamine tablet in on top of the ash, light it, add more kindling and build it up till I'm burning logs again...I keep it burning for about 3-4 more hours more, or until I'm ready to pack up and leave, and there is still minimal ash and embers to dispose of. It is really efficient. It also has a flat top, making it far more efficient as a cooking surface than yours and there is no chance of burning a hole in my tent either, as it has a mesh spark arrester in the bottom of the damper. The spark arrestor gets so hot it burns off anything that might normally build up on it, like you get on a stove pipe top spark arrestor. It only weighs 750g, including a 7 1/2 foot stove pipe! (Yours is 1077g including an 8 foot stove pipe). It packs smaller than yours too. Having said that, Seek Outside have discontinued it (they do two larger versions instead) so if you wanted one you would have to get a used one, like I did. I'm looking for a lighter hot tent though...Your Minipeak XL outer weighs slightly more than my Longeek outer (1300g vs 1280g including a DCF storage bag) which I would not call ultralight by any stretch of the imagination. I'm looking for a hot tent weighing less than 800g, and there are such tents out there but finding one at the right price isn't easy, plus I want one in a stealthy colour...The really light ones early always come in glaring white! And I am loathe to pay a lot of money for a tent made of cheapo Nylon, which sags when wet, when I could get an even lighter DCF tent that never sags, for the same money, or less!
