Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I know it's been awhile since I have posted. A lot of you know my jeep got broken into back in September and it's been a tough few months to bounce back to say the least. Filming and editing this video brought back a lot of the motivation and creativity that I’ve been lacking over the last few months. I can't thank you guys enough for the kind words and support over the last year and for helping grow this channel to 275,000 subscribers! It's been a wild ride and I'm very excited for what's to come in 2022!
Dude you are awesome! Thank you for your heart and passion. The fact that you are back after that unfortunate experience shows who you are and encourages me in some many ways. Thank you again for all that you do and many blessings brotha
Happy Holidays, Drew. I'm really sorry to hear what happened in September. You may want to hide your Plate # for future safety. Glad you are back in action. Love your work. Cheers from Toronto!
I always look forward to your videos! Especially the winter ones. The longer the wait the more astonishing your videos become! You make amazing content👍keep up the amazing work
Drew, from someone who makes their living full time doing video production, I just want to take a moment and say how incredibly talented you are. You can really tell how much care and effort you put in to your work, and the result is something absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ru-vid.comUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
Can we please just admire how much goes into this camera work, the clips and scenes are insane and takes so much dedication that goes unseen. Absolutely amazing brother. Love it
Some people don't understand, staying at your place , enjoying your meal and have fun alone is fucking priceless . Simply no bullshit.Enjoy the silence, the calmness around you 🌱🍀❤️
I honestly cannot emphasize how much I look forward to your videos. Specially winter videos. As a person who has never seen snow in my life, love that I'm able to experience it vicariously through your videos.
i was think the same thing like just to film the drive he must have stopped to set up the camera a over a dozen times. this mans dedication is amazing it it really shows
Blown away from that bombastic intro Drew. What an amazing country and views. So sorry to hear about those grubs stealing your stuff. Good to hear you didn't give in, got back on your feet and endured after this. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Absolutely in love with your videos Drew and that set up is an absolute dream, especially in those conditions. Sorry to hear your Jeep got broken into as I can only imagine how painful that must have felt. Look forward to more videos whenever they come. 🤙🏼
Dude I'm so sorry to hear about what happened and glad you've been able to come back even stronger than ever! Really needed this today, your videos mean the world to us people who are a little tied down and unable to get out for a solo camping adventure
@@drewsimms Look Up ketoCarnivore eating as the sugar gives you highs and lows. You can get away with sugar/bread/pasta/seed oils but they will take a toll someday. I see the unique video shots and know the time you took to get these. The edits and waterfall shots are first rate! I absolutely love Drew’s videos. I turn everything else off and completely immerse myself in the sensory experience these videos give. I don’t even know how Drew manages to make me feel the way I do with these videos! These snow camping ones really hit the spot. 10/10
Drew, you're a darn one man movie studio. A gifted photographer videographer, editor, actor, story and screen writer. What are you going to be when you grow up? Oh, and a chef on the side. I keep coming back just to get into the groove. Truly amazing.
My dad and I watched this on our big screen, epic as usual and I couldn’t wait for this upload. Always a cinematic masterpiece. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and I am so glad you are back on your feet. I’m happy you are still getting sponsors, you deserve everything you are getting!! Keep up the incredible work!
I just wanted to say I’m so sorry to hear about all your stuff getting stolen it is wrong in so many ways but you’re looking on the bright side you’re healthy you’re smiling and you’re still doing what you love hopefully they will catch the people that did that to you and you will get your memories back much love
Your videos are something else, the edit, his pacing, the composition of the shots that u take to tell the story, the fact that you put your camera(s) and drone in so many places to take the right shots and angles for your story is absolutely stunning and shows how much effort and creativity goes into creating a video like this, this is truly incredible content, there are a lot o amazing travel videos and channels that go into this style, but this one is my favorite in terms of cinematics and edit, composition, congrats, incredible work.
Seeing the waterfalls brings tears to my eyes, God did some amazing work with his hands, I pray I can see something like this in person one day, what a beautiful adventure, thank you for sharing✨
Drew, I’m sorry to hear about your break in, I can’t imagine how you feel. Just know that your work is so appreciated and it’s so good to see you back online sharing these amazing scenes and your life. Thank you for this, Merry Christmas!
The quality of this video is beyond any words. I have genuinely never watched a video of such quality and breathtaking shots of nature. Man you are a true artist. I hope you are proud of yourself. Cheers!!
Drew your adventures have inspired me to solo camp in my golden years! Thanks for telling these wilderness stories through the artistry of your lens. You bounced back determined to share! Bravo!
Once more, bravo! Your stories have such depth, the way the visuals feel effortless and carry us through the scenery, almost allowing us to smell the pines, feel the heat of fire, the warmth of coffee. Keep on going dude, your work is a sight for sore eyes 🤙🏼
Speechless. Absolutely beautiful. After your post from the car break in, all I could think was “ I hope this doesn’t stop him”. You have a gift and serious talent Drew. To see you’ve come back and persevere despite that heavy setback, you are more than on your way to a lifetime of success & happiness. You’re a self sufficient determined young dude & so many of us are so proud of you. I wish nothing but a year of prosperity, health and protection for you. All the best.
I'm 8minutes in and already... my mind is blown. I've said 'wow' more times than I can count. I used to do solo videos a few years ago and appreciate just how much time and effort it takes to do so such shots. But not only set them up, but get shots that give the 'wows'. 10/10. Amazing.
Hey Drew...you may have had some very precious possessions taken from you and an interruption to your travels but the most important thing that wasn't taken is your talent and heart for producing beautiful images. This latest video is testimony to your undoubted skills for conveying scenes we could only imagine but which you bring into our living rooms and make us feel were there...keep at it!
Anyone who has ever made even a small video knows how much time and effort it takes to make one like this. Good background music and sound effects, beautiful scenery, thank you for making a beautiful video. 👍
As always Drew, Bravo. I’m so sorry to hear about your loss of gear and belongings. Will never understand why some chose to make life harder for other. Your perseverance and attitude is amazing. And you are back at it, helping the rest of us to enjoy this planet, vicariously through you. May 2022 bring you more safe travels, and success. Happy New Year!
When I was driving in Lafayette, Indiana, I almost died under the sudden heavy snowstorm on an out-of-town road, but you're enjoying it in a more remote place.
QUALITY! The wait was worth it. As others have said sorry to hear of the break in. I enjoy your videos more than any on RU-vid. Your ability to capture the beauty and the amount of work you put into these videos is simply amazing. Thanks for sharing and letting us go with you on these epic journeys. Keep up the great work.
Drew....you are definitely an artist when it comes to filming and setting up shots. Your rig is an awesome setup...looks like you can sleep inside the Jeep as well as the rooftop tent. I currently have a no build setup in my Jeep trailhawk and its cozy while wintercamping here in Canada. My maiden name is Simms which is interesting as it isnt very common...British I think on my grandfathers side. Anyways...glad you are rebounding from your breakin...its not easy to bounce back...I know as its happened to me as well. Enjoy your holidays...again epic video...thanks for taking us along! 🌲🌲🌲
This was the best thing happened today when the day was not going good but after watching this video I do not know but I really felt good, thanks for introducing to a new perspective of life.
I just discovered you pls dont stop filming I am loving your videos. They're now my stress reliever and it fels like i am traveling as well. God bless you!
Drew, your videos are the apex of adventure and overlanding content back here at our home (me and my wife). You are a very talented professional, we are very sorry to hear about your stolen items, but also very happy to know that you're back, and better than ever. As most of the things, what doesn't kill you, only make you stronger (and wiser). Thanks for sharing your routine and experiences, be sure that you have big fans here in Brazil.
Good to see you back and that you didn't let the break in stop you from doing you. Can't wait to see more of your adventures and keep up the amazing work.
I randomly bumped into this channel by chance about 3 weeks ago after watching a Kara and Nate video, I have not stopped watching. The quality of your videos is on point 👌.
Those trees with all the snow was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It doesn't even look real. Its like someone drew a picture its so perfect. It kind of looked spooky being out there by yourself although I know you loved it.
Drew finally getting the views and subscribers he deserves. Been here since 20k and have been amazed by his content. I don’t even do outdoors but this guy makes me want to. So mesmerizing. Thank you Drew!
Hey I just want to encourage you to move forward and don't let your loss stop you. Your work brought me joy 💕 and I want to see this land for myself because you showed me, so thank you! Keep going!
This is my favorite video I have ever seen, you are very talented my friend. The whole video is incredible and the footage and videography is the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life. Thank you for making this
Intro is breathtaking. I find myself very peaceful and dreamy when I watch your videos. Beautiful! 😍😊thank you for sharing. Loving all the snow I've never been in or seen soo much of it!
Wow! You are very talented in more ways than 1, your videos help me soften anxieties and I cannot wait to face my fears and camp like you one day! Thank you for all the effort you put into these videos!
Best winter campfire trick I know is to lay a 2 foot piece of tinfoil on the snow and build your fire on top of that . The tinfoil will keep the evaporating snow from dousing the fire overtop. Portable fire pit works every time and will allow you to get the most heat out of your wood. I know this works because I only camp when it rains or snows. Just remember to take the tinfoil when you leave.
This my first video I found from you and they’re very high quality! My jaw dropped after you told us bout your jeep got broken in. Happened for a reason I suppose and will lead to something more creative for content. Supporting you man 🙏🏼
The amount of time it takes, to get all those camera angles, is exquisite. It’s truly a talent you have. I just bought the same jeep and I love your setup. Safe travels
Dude you work so hard on getting your shots! I appreciate the effort, Makes for beautiful videos! I'm sorry someone stole your gear. And its a reminder that we always need to have backups at home or at a family members place, somewhere where it'll be safe and you can update it every year or so. Love the content brother!
Thanks Elijah! Definitely unfortunate about the hard drives and was lucky I had my favorites backed up. The new back up set up is much more stable haha.
That sucks about your gear and hard drives. Glad you were able to bounce back, even if it took a little longer than you were hoping. This video is amazing my friend. Nice work. I'm trying to summon up the courage to try snow camping, and this was so breathtaking, so maybe I'll see you out there this winter!
This is the second video I watch on your channel and I'm extremally shocked for the amount of work and effort you put to make these videos 😍😍 good luck and please keep up the great job 🥰
Drew, I love your content and you have inspired me to grab a camera and get outdoors myself! Thank you so much for everything you create. Hope to run into you on a trail someday!
I really like your jeep! This is my first video of yours I'm watching and while I'll never do something like this.. I can easily live vicariously through your videos and see it! Thank you!
Absolutely stunning video Drew. As a travel filmmaker myself I know how exhausting it is to get all these shots. And these shots are absolutely stunning. Thanks for the adventures!
Great video man. I’m sorry about your heat that was stolen. We can never be too careful. Thank you for being strong and continuing to vlog. I love watching your videos.
Merry Christmas Drew, your videos are very inspiring, especially in this strange time. Thank you for being my eyes, and providing these beautiful and scenic images for me to think about when I close my eyes at night. I call this is my "virtual" getaway. Thank you, stay safe, safe warm, and happy new year!
Absolutely stunning.... I love the winter landscapes. 💜 I'm sorry to hear about your jeep getting broken into. Just found your channel and loving it so far.
this guy never fails to amaze me, go forward dude pave your way and I always look up to you, always been waitin for ur videos man, keep up drew my man keep it up
Love Oregon! Grew up and raised in Oregon. Now a Grammy and live in Florida near one of my daughters. I can’t imagine camping in the snow, but sure love watching your videos.
Damn! That’s rough.. I left the states in 2015 and haven’t looked back. Couldn’t imagine someone breaking into my truck up here in Finland! Heck, I’ve dropped my wallet on the beach and went back later in the day to find someone had taken it to the nearest ice cream stand and they were holding it for me. Everything was still in it, including a thousand euro (worth more than $1k USD). People are so respectful and responsible up here and by federal law everyone is allowed to enjoy the forests freely without hinderance - and ~70% of Finland is forest, with 180k lakes, so it’s an overlanding paradise! I also love lake hopping with the float plane and elk hunting! 🤠
I stumbled upon your video completely by accident and I've been blown away by the quality of your filming. The shots you take are amazing and so thoughtful. I'm sorry your rig got broken into :( Sucks that there are some horrible people out there. Best of luck of your future endeavours.
Just imagine the planning, patience, skill and the desire to get the shot at 4:16 What an absolutely unique shot, while keeping the jeep in focus throughout. Drew, how far was the camera in this shot? And most importantly, how did you place the camera in such a place?
Thanks for the kind words! That was a fun shot to set up haha. Alot of hiking through the snow to get that one but it's always fun to try and get those angles.
