Yes please. Do an episode on dehydrating. I do a lot of outdoor activities and carrying regular food just weigh a lot. Would be great to lighten the load by dehydrating the food I need.
I hate cold boots! Here's a little trick for your boots: Since you had a fire, put a couple of medium size rocks that will fit in your boot, into the fire and let them heat up. When you put the fire out before bed, use a stick to move the rocks out of the coals. Let them cool enough to be gingerly handled, put each rock into the socks you hiked in turned inside out, being sure the rocks have cooled enough to not burn your socks, the put the hot-rocks-in-socks into your boots. Your boots and socks will be warm and dry in the morning.🌿❄️
Trust my doggo 100% but the little light I put on her collar gives me some more peace of mind, recommend the olight gober or nitecore nu05, long run times.
Hi from Saskatchewan! It's refreshing to stumble upon such an engaging and well-spoken content creator in the vast sea of RU-vid. Your genuine approach made every minute captivating; excited to have discovered your channel, and I look forward to following along on more insightful adventures! All the best, Kevin
Hi Madison, there's a British channel called Bushman and Blue - a chap who does a lot of winter wild camping over here with his dog. In some of his videos he shows how he keeps Blue warm - what sort of sleeping bag he has for his dog. Maybe you can draw some inspiration for Kyro from him? I love your videos - your enthusiasm and happiness is a tonic during the grey months. It feels like we're all working it all out with you.
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures Madison 😀 Hope you have a wonderful Christmas in Arizona, and hopefully we'll see you again soon 😊 There are soooo many lovely details in your videos, the woodpecker, the wood cracking while in the fire, the impressive and lightly views at night.. 😊 I think you're really lucky and you are doing your best to live the life you want. Congratulations and hope to see you achieve your dreams 💪🏻🥾🏕️🎣🥰
Madison!!! Love your energy and knowledge about what youre doing and handling! It was so interesting start to finish and what a lovely bright smile and laugh hahahaha! thanks for the watch!!
Great trek in the winter into the wilds ! Good choice of gear and fire building skills !! Maybe try beef Stroganoff for a dinner out in the wilds ! You did really well with your pupper out there ! I liked it ! Tip : use a round or half round to tap your blade through wood to split it so you don’t damage your blade !
Oh holy cow what a lovely soul !!! I’m new here Jjst stumbled in It’s like coming into a lovely beautiful warm inviting country home after being out in a blizzard That’s the energy here So lovely Bless you and you’re wee doggo
Peax and seek outside make great hot tents. I run a seek with a half liner and ❤it. Cotton balls covered with Vaseline will aid in fire starting. I roll mine in fine saw dust so they are less messy and store them in ziplock bag. Merry Christmas!
i'm a chinese guy living in mainland china, even though i don't fully understand your english, but i love watching your videos, actaully i love watching you,i find out you are so attractive,so amazing,i could watch you in your videos all day without knowing anything
Madison. Do enjoy your videos. You are kind, engaging and so good to your Dog. You are a modern day Dick Proenneke!! If you aren’t familiar with him look him up…his son did a bunch of videos about his solo adventures. Blessings to you.
You two are just adorable! Love your spirits. However, you can have all that winter snow camping lol. I live down here in Oklahoma and we don’t do the snow. You are tougher than me lol. Stay safe. Also… do you have a PO Box or anything I can use to send you two some gifts to try out?
I also live in Oklahoma and LOVE winter backpacking here (summer with the heat/humidity/ticks no thanks). I love winter here, however I do not ever wish to snow camp. LOL
I just fold up a sheet of aluminum foil small and start my fire on that. It doesn’t melt until there’s substantial coals and much smaller/lighter. Cool setup though!

Hey Gorgeous 😍😍, can you please make a video on how you dehydrate your meals? someone commented about it. I too would love to see how you do it. Cheers🍷🍷
you should put a plastic tarp on the ground, and put your tent on that. that way the tent wont get wet. even without snow it keeps rocks and stuff from damaging the bottom
So interesting that you can see city lights from your campsite. Where I tend to camp (northeast and mid-Atlantic US) you have to go far from any city lights to find a decent place to camp.
Dog sleeping bag idea= Best we found so far for our cold-sensitive Weimaraner mix is a good quality (of your choice and budget) rectangular bag that we took to the upholstery place and had them re-sew the zipper just a little over halfway up (to her size she can be fully in the bag curled up or uncurled). Pricey in the end but extremely useful and keeps her warm. All the best and happy holidays.
I really wish i could move north..I live in south GA..when I was a kid and before that, it snowed every year even if only a little but it never snows here anymore we've had 1or 2 super light snows in past 10 plus years. So I never get to go snow camping like I want to
Joined a women’s backcountry group this winter, hoping I can get on your level for next year!! Thank you for showing me that solo camping is doable safe and fun!!💕💕💕💕
I make my own green drink blend. But thanks anyway. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!🎄🎁🙏❤ I just joined watching your channel. Hopefully most bears are hibernating❤
Be very careful pushing a dead tree like that. It is very common for sections of it to break off while it is swaying and fall straight down where you are standing.
Another great video! I believe more Dehydrated foods vids sounds great., nothing like packing your own food. Have fun in AZ and don't forget to pack a little warm weather gear.
All tents are hot when you put them up! Heyyyyy….. S….sorry. That was uncalled for, and unfunny even ironically. Keep up the good work, you are a better outdoorsperson than I’ll ever be and your dog is cool. Liked and subscribed.
Great Vid! Depending on conditions burying the tent pegs in snow can end up bad if it becomes a block of ice, tie off to logs or rocks sometimes better option. Nalgene makes a stainless steel which is heavier but in a pinch can be put in the fire to boil should you have a jet boil break.
Did backpacking or camping alone ever scare you at first? I would love to see a video for tip and tricks for female solo camping for beginners how to stay safe and overcoming fears(if you had any). I dream of doing stuff like this but I’m just so scared of being alone, noises in the dark night, what if I’m approached by a creepy stranger. And I don’t have a dog so it just be me 😭
You are incredible 😍 so brave so strong and nice person to watch. Like your videos so far 😃😃😃👍👍👍 So excited to see new ones 😁 Happy Christmas btw 🎉⛄ all good wishes and happiness and joy 😊 Hello from Ireland, original from Ukraine 🙂🤝 it is so nice to know people like you. You motivated me from the beginning 😄 Going for mountain walk tomorrow ❤️😜
Camping with a buddy is definitely a way better experience, although sometimes being alone is just as nice. Thanks for sharing your video and stay safe out there!
I love seeing how Kyro acted when getting his coat on!😆 He's the best! Great video! You can feel your general love for being in the wilderness. It really shows 🌲
Great spot! I was out last weekend. My favorite time of year for camping and hiking: no mosquitoes, no tourists, and a feeling of Peace; like being on another snowy planet all alone! Great vid! Goodwill And Thrift Shops have great deals on sleeping bags - a lot of them are kids sleeping bags: get one there for your dog...
Just a note to say that it’s risky to hit your knife with your axe poll, especially in really cold weather when your steel can actually be more brittle. Use a small log to baton your knife when splitting or just use your axe.
I make most of my own backpacking food using a dehydrator. Many veggies re-hydrate well (mushrooms, carrots & peas, onion, broccoli, sweet peppers). Many meats work well too ... mix 1lb ground turkey/beef w 1/3 cup plain bread crumbs, then cook, then dehydrate. Shrimp and thinly sliced sausage re-hydrate well too. Then its just a matter of adding in some dry sauce mix, rice or noodles and you have a huge number of options for home-made backpacking food. Many veggies re-hydrate well in cold water. Cabbage & grated carrots make a good base for coleslaw (just bring a little bottle of oil and vinegar). Backpacking burritos can be made by re-hydrating red peppers, grated carrots & cabbage in cold water ... just re-hydrate dry black beans & instant rice in hot water, add a small can of salsa and a small block of cheese and you have a great backpacking burrito.
I love that doggy parka! I may have to get one for my dog. What is that folding fire place you have? I didnt see it on your list. It looks pretty awesome.
Hi Maddison. You are a true inspiration to us all, but more so to all women out there. Why shouldn’t females enjoy the outdoors like us men. Not me, today though 😂🤣👍
Merry Christmas. You and the K9 would be awesome hiking guides Because you definitely have a good understanding of the environment And a good knowledge of the essentials someone would need in certain conditions Keep on keeping up the good work.
