Hi May, Just touching base to see how you have been doing over the last several weeks. Hoping all is well and looking forward to your next video. We have been seeing -30 and -40 temperatures in Alberta. Mark Alberta, Canada
Really enjoying your videos, you are a breath of fresh air, I am one who prefers the rain and gloom over blue sky's and baking sun (living in Sydney does that to me) I also listen to Shetty, Bartlett and Chatterjee! 🙂 I get the feeling you would be great doing some Children's TV show.
Bless you May your a lovely person Infact a breath fresh air in this mostly crappy world Your videos always cheer me up Thank you thank You thank you Love your musical Talent thanks again x
I was in that yoga class 😃😃 back in the new year. I also love the winter and getting to hibernate and rest. I struggle with doing nothing and have found crochet helps me to relax…..restful and mindful but still doing something 😊
Hi May, another awesome video, you're such an inspiration, what a woman!! Loved your singing and the cute ending with George reading to you, that was very relaxing, oh and also very cute! Take care ❤
Another amazing video You can't help but feel in life that most people want more and more .you epitomise what life is about wow .truly inspirational in so many ways .you have the lot The song was spine chillingly Good and your quirkiness shines Keep going to reach a perfect life your not far away 😊
Aah, your own personal sleep story teller, that's sooo nice. Love your singing, and that meal looked delicious. I also love dark nights, being home alone with my doggie and not having to go anywhere or see anyone... bliss 💖
I love your videos, i have several forms of mental illness and feel your lifestyle would benefit me greatly but that's something that will have to wait for sometime. I find your voice very soothing and love your singing please keep going
Winter is a time for rest and contemplation. Its the seasonal comparison to a nights sleep. I decamp off the boat and take up residence in my winter quarters. I have oil and a stove and i dont spare either. Im in my 62nd winter and at this stage im quite fond of them. I have four no less guitars each tuned differently and theyre great companionship. My livestock include 20 birds, a feral cat, 8 or more wild rabbits and an occasional fox. Ive given up on the i have to get something done today mantra. Its an r and r time of the year and nature agrees with me. Very good episode. George is one of a kind methinks.
❤🎉Hello lovely may a beautiful video again im so chilled out watching RU-vid videos of you on your beautiful Canal boat about your travels and cruising round the UK waterways and canals of the UK I love your yoga videos too Happy Christmas Sweetie have a fantastic chilled out watching TV eating chocolate and being with your family love N1 fan jenny ❤🎉
I want a cuppa and a blanket please! My neurodivergent self really really struggles to switch off, even when I’m sitting watching RU-vid videos, but I think a change is as good as a rest sometimes. My stomach is growling having watched this! Oh might be of interest but it’s thought that singing is the only activity humans do which uses 100% of our lungs, which is why singing groups are so beneficial for lung rehab after pulmonary surgery/illness. Keep singing!
Absolutely fantastic song! Loved it! Hoping to get on the waterways soon myself! not on a large scale like you are but starting off small renovating and learning before getting a narrowboat! Hope to see you soon on the waters!
Watching this made me think of a girl I saw this summer, aged about ten. She was wearing a T-shirt bearing the legend 'My Superpower is being a girl'. That's you.
Glad that you are also a fan of my favourite authors. I have a few Bluetooth speakers in the areas I use a lot, like my workshop, office and bedroom. Podcasts are brilliant but I find headphones a pain. So by having speakers where the sound follows me is bliss.
I am subscribed, I like and was told you get credits for comments as well. Plus it is a good time to pass on the smile you give me every episode. Your insights, good n bad, lift me up to new possibilities and make me think about where I am going in life Plus X2 you are so darn adorable!! George is such a class act reading to you. Best until next time.
Hey! Thanks so much for the subb! Engagement is good, RU-vid pushes your video so thank you, I appreciate your comment! But mostly its nice to hear from you and get an insight into the minds of the people who watch this! Because when I talk to camera, i imagine i'm talking to you all SO its good to get to know you! Thanks for watching!
Morning May Thank you for another nice video and song - wish I could sing as well as you do! Love the Santaesque dressing gown, very Christmassy 🙂 and your pancake recipe looked yummy - I might have to "nick" that off you! Good to see you're keeping nice and warm on these cold days and nights. Stay Happy and Safe x
Howdy May, wonderful to see you again, I wish I was thinking when I ordered your Calendar, I should have put in a special request for a demo CD of your signing, I know you would have included one, haha
It's Funny how I recommend the Boat Girls to you a few Months ago. I'm glad you enjoyed it Margret Mayhew is great at wrighting books. And story telling the people in the books are so relatable and ordenary even if their for me my Grandads Generation. Your singing is great and it's wonderful how we as the viewers can get in touch with the you Tubers and give our thanks to your work that you give us. That's a nice song you sang keep up the good work
@@wellbeingonwater and it's that book that led me to your channel. It's great to see a real live boat girl. I'm glad your keeping well have a nice week
Hi 👋 Mrs. May, I smiled when you sadly 😢realized you ran out of pesto, because I have some dozen of freshly prepared, then frozen 🥶 small jar of it in my freezer. And your voice!… wow, look at you!! It reminded me a little bit of Ayo, the German singer
You chose a song from my heartland to play and sing. Aotearoa.....New Zealand Nice one. Your;ve got the Chop. To the beat of the bar. So many solo players loose the bar timing. Being a drummer my self I find it pretty frustrating when people drop the beat during a jam but you have it it seems. Keep it up :)
My fave band my friend!! what a bunch of legends. First time I saw them I was on St Kilda beach in Melbourne and totally lost all sense of time and space. LOVE! and thanks for saying that, never considered that I have the Chop haha!
@@wellbeingonwater What? they played on the beach. You must of gone there after the shockolate shops High on Cacao... Your 20 minute video just lasted 3/4 of an hour for me. Well yeah you kept time, so you intuitively know where the beat is whilst you can sing at the same time. Thanks May. Im sure you give so many inspiration in there solo endeavour. Much Love in the seasons
Lovely vlog May very relaxing. Love the singing, It must be a challenge in the winter when you are naturally active. George your own story teller, how good is that. The hat is a great gadget to have, must make you light headed though 😂 Thanks May Well Done
I will have to agree with your choices of novels to read - three series of books that I can re-read again and again! (and again...😊) ...oh and I just LOVE Kefir too , try it over berries with chia seeds sprinkled on top for breakfast! 😋
Well Done May. I thought being unwell on a narrowboat would be hard. But been in the boat for some time now unwell with covid (other than doing jobs that MUST be done) and it wasn't so back after my food shop delivery. On the mend now, so out into the big world. Having food in boat for just in case is a good idea. My rabbit has been here, so not on my own really😊 Xx
Hi May. Long time no chat. You look very relalxed and happy this week, and I think we all know the reason why. Loved that little surprise near the end, I didn't see that coming ! - Anyway, I just wanted to say that I still watch your videos every Sunday, even though I don't comment very often. Your cheerful singing always lifts my spirits, and makes me smile. I hope you have a great Christmas !
What a lovely evening you had with George, I did he have a whole other comment with a few podcast and books recommendations in it for you George but it didn't stick so never mind.
@@wellbeingonwater The Twenty sided Realms (Dungeons & Dragons podcast) The Dark Is Rising (children's fantasy adventure story) and Podcastle a directory of many different kinds of fantasy story which they've have been running for 15 years/816 stories) And didn't forget about George up there in the north, once he's done with the many Terry Pratchett novels he could read you the 1980's fantasy Choose Your Own Adventure (something I grew up on as a kid) that way it becames a more interactive and immersive experience for both of you.
One of our favourite mooring spots at 00:37. Despite it being where our dog ran straight into the canal in the dark the first time we stopped there. This is our 3rd winter as liveaboards. We love the slowness of winter, even rain can have its charm. Could have done without the rotten colds we’ve had for the last week. Just a bit too slow 🤣🤣🤣
Ok, you’ve just gone up a notch in my estimation, as you referenced reading Terry Pritchett. Granny Weatherwax, et al. Awesome. I suppose you are using a version of the clacks to post these videos. Lol.
Thanks for the recommendation on Spotify for Boat Girl, I’m going to seek that out to listen to on my sun-lounger, (I’m so lucky because I’m on a pre-Christmas vacation in sunny Spain). Your food looked delicious, and so is George, I loved him reading to you. I also love Terry Pratchet, especially his Disc World books, I’ve got 55 Terry Pratchet books! Stay safe and never change May. Love you. ❤️
I used to make up bedtime stories for a girlfriend’s kids, which was kind of interesting because the girl wanted unicorns and mermaids.. and discos.. and the boy wanted dragons and Pokémon’s… and so on, haha, wouldn’t change a thing, little cherubs 💙💙💙 😁
I’ve followed you for quite a while on instagram but didn’t realise you had a RU-vid channel as well even though it clearly states on your bio 🙄. What an absolutely delightful person you are, I literally smiled the whole way through your video. Your cooking looked amazing, shame smelly vision doesn’t exist. I think George should start his own subscription service for story telling, I’d pay for that. Lovely video, I’ll be sure to catch up on all your vlogs. Take care 😊😊😊
I’ve had readly for a few months now and was waiting for the catch but their ain’t one. Incredible value especially as I previously subscribed to 2 other mags which alone cost more than that app. Also love cinema but do t go because I can’t bear the sound of crisp packets being slowly crackled or the sight of peoples phone lights urrgh
The Discworld series is the best!! I listened to my first audiobook a couple of weeks ago, I don't know why but I thought it wouldn't be as good as reading, turns out it is. Can I get George to read them to me as well? 😂
I offer hug will increase heat by at least 5 degrees maybe more, Diesel heaters are good because you can use red diesel but could you power one using the boat? good for heat
Silence and stillness is the key to contentment of being . Anything and everything else is a distraction conjured by mind . Give yourself a couple of hours a day and recognise minds distractions. Just getting up and making a cuppa whilst meditating is mind distracting....
Have you read books by Robin Hobb? If not give her a try, especially the Live Boat series. I have lived in the back woods of British Columbia for many years and yes one does learn to live with themselves and one does discover much about themselves when there aren't others around for great lengths of time. Being constantly busy is a way to distract yourself from personal awareness and discovery. The more down time you have, the more you will appreciate yourself. Mark Red Deer, Alberta
Thanks for a very different type of Narrow Boat vlog . It all looked very cosy ( and as someone who has always lived alone ) all very normal . It would be a wonderful world if everyone had a ‘George ‘ . A much happier place ( I take it , he stops Reading to you when he hears you Snoring ) 😊 . Loved the song . Playing the guitar ( or any instrument) is very relaxing, the main problem ( I find ) time flys past without you noticing. PS . Did you manage to Post that Book of Photos . Not that there is any rush ( I appreciate there are NO postboxes along the Tow path ) . I just wondered , as Im more worried about you spending your hard earned money on Postage, and its vanished into GPO world . Hope you’re keeping OK with all the bad weather of late . Our local Lock house Tea Rooms , has been cut off for a few day’s ,with the Tow path flooded . I managed to paddle my way there today in my Wellies for a Coffee .
