Switzerland was the 22nd country I visited. I entered Switzerland in October, but got very lucky with the weather and had the most perfect autumn ride. I only stayed there for two nights. On the first night I was hosted by Andi Koru near Zurich. Andi is a world traveler who I've been in touch with for a while and now we finally got to meet. These days Andi is working for Lone Rider and I had the opportunity to see the prototype of their new Adv Tent on the night.
On the second night I was invited to join RTW rider Lea Rieck and her friends for the night in a boutique hotel in Sporz and that was just unforgettable luxury.
And in between were plenty of incredible Alps mountain passes.

Thanks for pointing out the staggered posting of Kinga's videos, and thinking about my request for a review of riding gear I was definitely optimistic, as no doubt I'll be directed to a site where I can purchase a particular T-shirt, or recommended BMW riding gear, as sponsorship would certainly influence any recommendation.

Hi Kinga, the Swiss vignette is mandatory for highways only. If you keep to other types of roads than highways, you don’t need one.

@@HannesN123 yeah but better that than having shitty systems like in France or Italy It can be annoying for foreigners, I understand that. But for us swiss citizens it's a dream. I have some friends in France who need to pay up to 1000 euros per year for driving on the motorway.

I went over the Swiss Alps in 2008 on an F650 Funduro on the way to Greece and forgot how nice that was until watching this video. Great campsites too. I too bought a vignette and didnt need it once as I avoided the motorways. I now have the urge to go back on my F650gs and spend some more time there, maybe do all the mountain passes. Thanks for the inspiration.

first of all why this video has few thumbs down from some of You? i find all videos very interesting and well delivered. Just bought the same MSR tent as the one u use on your adventure. Heading to USA Utah and of may it is very light weight and packs well inside the paniers. Will see how it will perform comparing to my previous Coleman, safe travel Kinga you inspire lot of us one brave Girl👌

I was wondering who would want to travel on Swiss highways. According to your route map you paid your 40 CHF fee not only for just 3 days, but also for merely 50km. Staying in CH is luxurious as you said. But so awesome for bikers.

The vignette is only needed for highways. You most likely wouldn't take the highway in Switzerland when motocycling, and of so, most likely not for just 50 km. There is no other road pricing in Switzerland, and fuel is cheaper than in Fance, Italy or Germany. So relax about driving costs.

Hello, there! The 40-francs Vignette apply only to motorways in Switzerland. If you don't drive motorways you can save the 40. because you can drive motorways in Switzerland are free to drive. With my greetings, Chaise 666

The Swiss vignette system is an absolute bargain. I spent over Euro 50 riding from UK through France in one day on the French motorway. Switzerland you get a whole year on the entire country's motorway system for Euro 30... And typically Swiss, the roads are usually pristine and we'll maintained. Bargain.

CHF 40 for the Vignette for 3 days and it doesn't look like you rode any roads that needed the Vignette. I have bought them on occasion, but find that the roads I want to ride don't need one. Lovely country.

I believe the real adventure was when you were in Asia, there you had all sorts of encounters, been through half civilized places, met people still living the same way they lived for centuries and sometime behaving as such. Even for us, who have watched your travels from the comfort of the chair, we still had a sense of danger and the thrill of the unknown you have experienced. Also there, you had the chance to knock out prejudices or biases towards different nations or ethnies, like Iran, Turkey and where else. Now, it is plain tourism and I still enjoy your videos, but I look forward for when you'll enter Africa and cross it, hopefully safe and sound, from north to south. Cheers and keep safe!

Hi Kinga, great adventure. I've a question for you (or maybe other riders too) about making video during the riding in Switzerland (and/or Austria). I heard car videorecorders are forbidden in Austria and Switzerland, waren't you afraid of getting ticket for that? Or maybe camera on helmet is not a problem?

you really don't need to buy the vigette, as there is not many motorways in Switerland. We bought one and regretted it.

Yes, I didn't get one, but they make it difficult for you. We had to turn around and find a way in on minor roads. One time we had to reverse the bikes to avoid getting onto a motorway. They love giving out big fines. Great mountain passes all over the Alps.

Did you just complain about 40 Fr vignette? You guys never heared of the Gotthard tunnel? Did you miss all the roads and motorways in prestine condition? Its 40 Fr per year. No tolls, no collapsing bridges, paved roads. What else you want more?
