She wrote only one and is very personal to her and she pushed for choreography, sm wanted a pure ballad but she pushed for choreography and it really fits! 💛👑
I mean Only One is a lyrical hip hop track, not a ballad. And it’s BoA we’re talking about. Of course she was bound to have choreography for a big comeback like that.
Besides Lee Soo Man and Kenzie, BoA was the one who built SM. She's actually been a member of SM's board of directors since about 2014. It's her job to mentor young trainees and prepare them for Idol life.
Thanks for checking out BoA, one of the most influential kpop artists and unfortunately one of the most forgotten about by international fans. She was far from the first idol to dance, but she really raised the expectations for how complex kpop choreography could be. Eat You Up and Only One were both iconic for their dance and for being two of the first times that any kpop performer worked with international dancers.
If you want to watch one of her live stages you should do the bad drive/style/sweet impact 08 live clip from one of her japan concerts, u can find it on youtube
BoA has a lot of music and different styles/genres you have to listen and watch. She excels in ballads and I’ve been a fan since she debuted in the early 2000s. Her new song Emptiness just released today and you have to include it in your videos
BoA is def a dancer! I actually discovered her first (oh god, 20 years ago?) from j-pop. I thought she was originally a Japanese artist, but she has a fairly extensive Japanese catalog and exclusive tracks. U should def check those out too. "Eien" was very Michael Jackson heavily influenced!
Eat You Up is what tagged me into the fandom 😂 The dancing, the outfit 👑 Is the mv basically the plot to Step Up 2? Maybe. Do we care? No 😂 Btw BoA actually starred in a Step Up-esque film during her time in the US. It's called Make Your Move.
She was in a dance movie as the female lead with Derek Hough actually. A lot of dancers in Korea have her as their role model and see it as they've made it as dancers if they work with her on something.
Check out Sweet Impact, Bump Bump and 永遠. Those MVs are fully inspired by Michael Jackson (not so sure about Bump Bump but it did have some MJ flair in it). Edit: Only One was directed by her late brother Kwon Soon Wook (she has 2 brothers, Soon Wook is her 2nd brother. She's the youngest in their family) who passed away 3 years ago due to peritoneal cancer. May he rest in peace. And fun fact; Only One was choreographed by the famed Choreographers Nappytabs.
We have mentioned how she is the Idol of Idols but she is also the inspiration of many professional dancers. In the dance survival show she was part of as judge (Street Woman/Man Fighter), they had to do a compilation/segment of all the dancers contestants that had BoA as the reason they became dancers. I was blown away seeing that, like realizing the influence and legacy tgis woman has in the world of arts (singing, dancing, musicians) its just wow. Truly amazing.
Energetic is on the (Eat you up album) Sharing a English BoA MV (Energetic) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7ehZw9RGkEQ.htmlsi=7nXTKp6N8kq1izQr Enjoy the MV.
I hope you watched the MV for Disturbance in the third playlist. It's a must watch imo because it shows a different side of her. Plus the MV was directed by her brother and stars Boa and Taemin 😍 (In case you didn't know there's 2 alternate endings to the MV)
Kinda sad you didn't watch Copy & Paste and Shadow (double title track with Only One). Also Boa was sent to Japan, right after her korean debut, and she had a lot of Japanese releases in-between Korean ones. SM also had plans to promote her in US, so they made a whole English album with Eat You Up as a title track.
oh no wonder i had no interest in any of the songs in Part 1 when i got into kpop in 09 which is when Eat You Up released XD excited for u to get to Camo 👀
It's rare to find a channel that does a BoA reaction. Eat You Up is, in my opinion, one of her weakest songs. My favorites are Jewel Song, Winter Love and Candle Lights.
@@roguereacts I followed her more from 2003 to 2012. After that I didn't follow her as much. I really caught the time when she made more Japanese music than Korean music, and I loved the annual concerts that she released on DVD at that time.
@@roguereacts I've never been a fan of K-POP, but BoA was an exception to the rule, especially because she was K and J-POP. Today, what I listen to the most is BABYMETAL.
