About the cheese. one of Taemin's nicknames is Baby cheese. About being scared. Taemin fears NOTHING except for bugs. Taemin is a sweetheart and the MOST adorable person ever, but he is also the embodiment of chaos itself. Something you need to know, Hoshi is a SUPER shawol, there are MANY idol shawols, but Hoshi is the vice president of the Shawol fandom (the president is our very own SHINee's Minho..).

A yes, time to see that behind the mysterious and sexy aura is an adorable menace to society. Taemin has one of the strongest on-stage vs off-stage dualties I've ever seen. Him along with Taeyong (NCT) and San (ATEEZ), all of them get accused by fans of being possessed by the stage demon. The cheese is because Taemin's nickname is "Baby cheese." He's also represented by a baby chick. He really didn't start being engaged when it comes to variety shows until a few years ago which is why he might seem a bit awkward about them, he used to just let the rest of SHINee do all the talking for the most part because he was shy. Having to promote while Onew, Key, and Minho were enlisted made him break out of his shell. All of SHINee are very "Don't you dare look at other idol groups you cheater, you should only be looking at SHINee" mostly jokingly, which is very funny. Yes Taemin was 14 when he debuted, you might see him say 16 but he's talking about Korean age, international age he was 14. He was the baby of the entire 2nd gen of the kpop industry. For the thing with Taemin and Hoshi, they're supposed to guess each other's identities but Hoshi already knew so he just took the chance to flirt lmao. Hoshi is a huge SHINee fan.

Thank you so much for this video. It was a nice selection of variety shows, but frankly that’s not even an ounce of fun vids you can watch that reveal how adorable and hilarious Taemin is. Any of his English speaking compilations would crack you up, also his vids with his manager Nam Euisoo are absolutely hilarious! Anyway, thank you so much for this series of Taemin vids, I truly enjoy it since he is my absolute, only ult in whole Kpop world. He has many nicknames given by the industry and fans, one of them is One And Only Ace (and that’s who he is to me). He’s a super kind and thoughtful person apart from being a megastar and that’s why he’s so loved by his juniors. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode!

Yes, he did teach himself dancing, starting at the age of 9 (intl. age; Korean age is usually one to two years additional because everyone turns a year older on the New Year in Korea, so depending upon when your birthday falls, you could age 2 years in one year.) While Taemin says he's 30 (almost 31 now); his actual age is 29, and he will be 30 on 7/18. Taemin has said that he would watch his favorite idols (MJ, Usher, and Rain) and then practice their moves in his mirror. He started street dancing. Then, his mother, seeing how much he hated the institution of school and extra classes told Taemin he could skip the extra classes if he attended the SM Saturday audition and passed. The rest is history. He easily passed the first time due to his dancing skill which was already better than the others who auditioned. He entered SM in 2005 at 11 and debuted at 14 (by international age standards) and 16 by Korean age calculations because his real birthday is in July (so in May, 2008, he had already turned 15 on 1/1/08 and then 16 on 7/18/08. I think that's how it works. It's weird to us. By watching his idols, Taemin actually adopted (probably unknowingly) a popping dancing genre called electric boogaloo. Basically, Taemin is one of the very rare popping Kpop idols in the industry. Other idols pop, but true popping involves much more than just superficial popping. It also encapsulates isolations, fluidity, and a very strong core. Just compare the sheer force of Taemin's pops through this very short video to other idols: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qo18L3_Kc0Y.html I mean the man can literally pop each muscle independently -- even each finger. Then watch other idols. They simply can't pop the way Taemin does; nor can they do it with such subtly combined with fluidity. The first video I suggested highlights the difference a foundation in electric boogaloo has compared to other more rigid disciplines, especially between Taemin and his backup dancers in "Move". Most Kpop idols learn dancing through a specific discipline either in an arts school or through training at their company. Taemin had already absorbed much of electric boogaloo through replication, but also added in his own, unique style by the time he transferred to an arts school and SM. Therefore, whatever he was taught through those two institutions just got absorbed into his own unique style as well. In short, he was much more of an anomaly than someone who was taught to rigorously practice one style and master it. For Taemin, his framework is a very loose, adaptive style that could be whatever he wants to access through all the parts and pieces of different genres he's absorbed through the years. He adapts quickly and can basically perform any dance genre but with a Taemin flavor to it. It's very free-flowing and expressive. Another difference with Taemin is that he has said that he doesn't lock himself in to the choreo, but will make changes on the fly according to how he feels at that particular moment. This is why none of his choreos ever look the exact same but change with each and every performance. His "Want" choreo is a perfect example of this. They intentionally left the very beginning open to Taemin's interpretation to tailor it to each performance according to how he feels at that time. This makes it hard to cover his choreos.

it wouldve been fun to watch some "taemin being annoying" type comps but i guess those would be primarily shinee taem and not so much solo taem..~ :p (since i can only comment on things i know.......) hoshing in the thumbnail jumpscare~ (he's one of my biases....my favorite elongated little guy.....) hoshi is the main dancer (well, one of, but this isnt the time or place to explain svt), they say multiple times in the video but its true that hes a gigantic shawol. if you look at his solo MV(he has a few solo songs but only one mv so far), you can feel the taemin influence (in a good way)~ he's very much an all-rounder too(he's the dance leader who gets very nice vocal and rap parts). its very interesting to see your first impression of him being this, as a cute flirty successful shawol. if you ever get around to a bg series, svt would be a fun (thought complicated) week~ more of this slightly off topic paragraph, you might have seen him in some twice clips(?), but one of svt's main vocalists is a huuuge gg stan. he's a fun male idol for primarily gg stans to get to know in my opinion~ for that last one the pixid thing, i think hwasa did one? i remember watching something like that. (the hoshi you just saw also did one. i only mention it bc its the cutest thing.) ^^;
