As you walk through the hallways of any of our hospitals or satellite sites, you will see a team of healthcare workers as vibrant and diverse as the community of Scarborough. At SHN, we understand how important it is for people to feel seen and represented within the workplace - and Solomé’s role, along with the Health Equity team, is a testament to the work SHN is doing to encourage authenticity and inclusion.
Everyone at SHN, from leadership to frontline staff, is provided with the same health equity education. Beyond our walls, the Health Equity Certificate Program is open to partners, peers, and community service providers in order to further dismantle systemic barriers to healthcare.There is a wealth of ideas that come from diverse communities, and Solomé is tapping into the opportunities that bring together not just a diversity of people but a diversity of ideas to the table, so that SHN can truly strive towards healthcare excellence.
