During the 55 years that he performed professionally, Burke released 38 studio albums on at least 17 record labels and had 35 singles that charted in the US, including 26 singles that made the Billboard R&B charts. In 2001, Burke was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a performer. His album Don't Give Up on Me won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 45th Grammy Awards in 2003. By 2005 Burke was credited with selling 17 million albums. Rolling Stone ranked Burke as #89 on its 2008 list of "100 Greatest Singers of All Time."

I do cry. I missed my husband. Was married 45years. I was 17years old and he was 19. He pass away 2008 cancer. He lives in my heart now. We both love music. My precious husband had a amazing Voice. We both love the music from the Fifties and sixties 💖💖

Lost my mind when my wife died of cancer ,it takes time went or should I say up't my intake of drugs and alcohol it took to place I don't ever wanna be again. But she's looking down on me and protecting me. She's my guardian angel have to look forward life's to short. Good Luck. L.L.

@@lennydiperi503 this kind of stuff really get me worried and make me take action. I'm currently dieting, only eating healthy and reducing red meat intake and alcohol, no smoking. I'm gonna make myself be as healthy as possible and I'll definitely make my girlfriend do it with me. I want us to have a full long happy healthy life together. Thank god for everything. He will guide us and protect.

@@matthewmiller6433 sadly he was robbed and never made real money nor receive royalties from his work. I knew his wife and kids in the early 80's they lived in Fayetteville NC. They would talk about he was robbed by his record label

This was MUSIC in the best ever era of music of all genre. Never has been attained since and I honestly believe it never will be. Thank God I was alive. I feel sorry for the generations since. They have missed so much. There is still some excellent music bot also a absolute load of rubbish . Rap? house, garage ( what is the difference?. 90% is crap). Rap? Good God, somebody actually likes it? You maybe twenty but trust me, if you like music, you should be my age!
