we need more bangtan-centric content like this on the army corner of youtube. funny compilations are fine and dandy but we, as a community need to take ourselves and our space, specifically, who we let into it, a little more seriously.

I am loving your content. Even now that they said they want to focus on solo work (and solo stans are celebrating) they made it very clear they want to be part of BTS for a long time.

Solo stan test: If reading a comment praising a member of BTS that isn't your favorite offends you, you are a solo. If you disrespect or insult a member of BTS in the name if your favorite, you are a solo.

I don't understand them, how can you not love each member of BTS, they are all so wonderful. Too bad for the solos, they are the ones missing out

Blaming Hybe has got to be one of the laziest excuses from a solo, they would rather cry about mistreatment than find out actual facts. I've seen solos trash RM because of his non mention of China in the Korean War, not because of any standing of knowledge of what happened, but because the backlash towards BTS made V look bad, insanity is all it is. Solos even if they aren't being load they hurt the group, they don't focus on OT7 during combacks, but will put all their efforts into promoting their favorites solo track. Solo stans also run the risk of hurting their favorite, they typically praise the hell out of any and everything they put out, a small snippet of a demo suddenly becomes the greatest, most beautiful song ever heard. This type of mindless hype will put brakes on any growth or creative development of an artist. BTS members are really down to earth and no matter how big they get will always strive to do better, but can you imagine anybody who's biggest motivation comes from popularity, they would stop trying to get better because there really is no where else to go once you have full adoration.

Solos are a disease. I met some people from my uni this year. I was staying in a hostel and they were my roommates. They claimed to be armys and I was so excited to finally share my experiences with irl armys They were maknae line baised, we got to know each other and I learned that they didn't know much about BTS, I assumed they became an army recently but they said that they've been an army for over a year. They only knew the 3 english songs and Idol which is fine okay whatever. What shocked me the most was that they hadn't even heard songs of their own bias' songs, not even one solo song from their bias. They would only ever talk about their fave's Instagram and TikTok edits. Once we were all sitting and explaining to other roommates why we love BTS and this one girl just pulls out her phone and start to ask others to rank the members based on their looks, I felt so uncomfortable. I'm a hobi biased and so she tries to tease me and show them Hobi's picture and they all literally laughed and made fun of his looks. That broke my heart. That was the day I realized just how toxic these solos can be, they're only here for the looks and not the talent. I never talked to her again. Solos are a disease and they spread their germs to other people. Sadly majority of people from my country are only here for the looks, they don't love the group, they only love their faves and that too only for their looks and not actual talent.

my thing with solo fans is i just feel bad for them, because even when bts does solo projects especially with the rap line they always always thank army! they only ever acknowledge their army, it’s never “thank you army and my other fans” to them all the ppl that support them are ppl who support the group too, you can’t separate one of them from the group even in solo projects bc they don’t even do that to themselves

What baffles me most about solos is that they completely ignore what their favourite says. I saw a JK solo bashing Namjoon because he got more writing credits. They were extremely rude about it too. Knowing how much JK loves RM I can't imagine how their minds compartmentalise to be able to villainise other members like that. That same thing happens a lot with some shippers (not all), mostly maknae line... I really wonder, do they even know anything about their fave apart from the way they look?

This video has a lot of great points when it comes to toxic Army! When I was baby Army I was mostly on RU-vid and Weverse. It was months before I started following Twitter, FB, and Instagram Army accounts! That’s when I learned about solos and antis! When ON was are first real chance to get our boys a top 10 on Billboard was when I truly realized what a pain in the butt they could be to Army! When we were trying to get Dynamite to #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 is what sent it over the top for me! Army was literally working 24/7 asking for donations, radio requests, playlist, and streaming! What were solos doing? Complaining to Hybe about how many lines their solo had in the song! Or how much screen time in the video! One of the big donations accounts said they asked a couple of major solo accounts for help and they refused! Saying it wasn’t their problem! I was shocked! 😮 At first I couldn’t understand how someone could call themselves Army and only support ONE member! Was this the upside down? I finally checked out those accounts and got my answers! WOW, they were SO EXTREME that I thought they were antis pretending to be a army solo! Unfortunately I was wrong. They were crazy, disrespectful, and over the top! How can you listen to BTS’s message of “WE ARE SEVEN!” and call yourself Army? Just like with antis I couldn’t block them fast enough! We can’t weed them all out but we can still try! Again great video!

They all have freedom to do what they want. Solos are complaining some members don't have songs compared to other members. Do they ever think about how hard it is to make music. Rapline has always been making music from the beginning. They have talents and experience. They make their own mixtapes and albums as well. When making solo music they have to do everything by themselves. And it hard. Have you seen how tired they look when they do it all. Recent example is Jhope. He was in a dark place and lost so much weight as well. He worked so hard and did everything by himself. Others are doing it as we speak. They are always making content. Creativity don't come easily. They need inspiration, experience, talent to express it and so much more. It's f***ng hard to do that. It takes time. BTS members are perfectionists as well so they try even more. If you remember Jungkook talking about his mixtape back in the day, he must have not been that confident. He talks about how he need time and take long time to do his work. Just because you want to make a song doesn't mean you can. I'm sure they want to do more all the time. Rappers are talented and works for group music and solo music. And do these solos know how much RM help the vocal line to make their songs? He has credits everywhere even in vocal members solo songs. For example You've seen how RM helped Jimin to write promise. Jimin must have wanted to write it by himself but it's not easy to make a f**ng hit song. Of course solo stans don't see all this. Jimin said in Be-hind interview done by members themselves that he tried hard to write Christmas love but was going to give up until RM wrote lyrics and send it to Jimin in the middle of the night. And Jimin said since RM worked so hard he has to finish it no matter what and how he worked all night to do it and released it in a hurry the next day. Solo stans forget all these details when they start complaining. This is just one example. Jin also said this. How he asked RM for help in the same interview. They are a team. They have no problem with helping each other. And they are not greedy. They wouldn't be this successful if they were. After rapline, Jungkook is the one that has developed the most in making music. Out of the vocal line he has always done lot of solo projects. Have a lot of credits as well and that's why i think so. I'm sure other 3 try hard as well. They always have. And have done amazing work. I'm sure they want to do more and they say it as well. They talk about these things often. V recently said how he's not satisfied with his album. But everyone around him encourage him to it. It's his own decision to do as he please. He said in his vlog for us to wait. Others are working as well. And we'll get to see how much they have improved. We'll see more from everyone eventually. It's their own decision. They decide the time and has to be confident and sure about the work before releasing it. They have talked about this if solo stans pay attention they know all this. Honestly i agree with you. Lots of these solos could be trying to rip the group apart because they are jealous of BTS success. I can see from the comments all over the internet how desperate they sound.

I was watching kbs for youth bts members fancam just yesterday And in jk fancam one person said "The greatest singer of kpop is standing majority of the song" something like that. The comments and replies were shading that bts is wasting his talent. All members got 2 to 3 lines to sing there are 7 member. I believe with jungkook adlips and bg vocals, he was the most busiest one. (It's just they didn't saw other member fancam and was expecting jk to sing most of the song) People also say jk never got a solo mv so he is mistreated. But jk himself said he was not confident enough before. You can clearly saw the difference in 2017 jk and 2020 jk. As a jk baised I can say he was never mistreated. But solo wouldn't understand this.

you always speak real! people who only stan certain members and exclude others (ot6/ot5, etc), deranged, toxic shippers, mantis (manager armys) and company stans are antis too. they all disregard bts' words and speak over them because they think they know what's best for them/what they want when they're really pushing their own ideas/fantasies about bts' thoughts and desires.

My ult bias is Jin and you can't exactly control whether you have a bias or not BUT imagine bringing the other members down to make your bias look better, smh. At the end of the day I'm ot7 and I can't stand people that are nasty to any of the members. BTS needs all of the members to be BTS. When you bring one of the members down you bring one of your bias' brothers down. Now that they're doing solo stuff for a bit, army needs to support each of the members otherwise are you really allowed to call yourself army ? You have the right to prefer this or that project BUT you should still appreciate all of the boys' dedication to their art and to army.

Here’s the thing. I’ve come across some solo stans online who say that they only care about one member, but they don’t disrespect the others (that would be considered being an anti). I’ve even seen some who say that they’re fine with not being army, and don’t want to be. But that still confounds me immensely. How can you not love every single member? How can you not appreciate every single one of these seven wonderful men? I understand having a bias (I’m ot7 myself), but being a solo stan perplexes me when it comes to BTS especially. Like when I first discovered BTS, I wanted to get to know each one. And I did, and I’ve fallen in love with all of their personalities. Solo stans confuse me endlessly.

Thank you. I came here after I saw some solos were holding a twitter protest after one member's bangtan bomb was released and an another's wasn't; it kind of got me all riled up and annoyed. Why do they pretend like the members are children who need to looked after? They are grown men who can speak their mind. If they are unhappy with something they will say so. We see maybe 1% of their lives through V-lives, performances, shows and articles; pretending to know their state of mind and launching protest is so childish. Love your work! It is always well researched - keep at it!

Oh that's really interesting, I never actually knew that that's how they distributed lines, idk how I didn't know. I always see people wishing some people had more lines, but I definitely think there's two types of people, the ones who just want to hear more from everyone because ot7 lol, and then there's the ones you described, which are really harmful.

I’m enjoying the variety of activities each member is getting to do because they took a hiatus from group schedules and as Rm said they needed to venture out of their comfort zones to recharge their creative energy i love them together and i love them individually

The majority of solos I’ve came across were fans of other groups (and I suspect they wanted BTS to disband so those groups would have a “chance”), and the very few individuals that stanned only one BTS member and didn’t stan other groups were actually sasaengs of said members (just think of he4dliner jk for example)! Can’t help but notice that either of them actually ruthlessly disrespect the members they so firmly say they “love”.

Maknae line solo stans are the absolute worst breed. They really can't tolerate anyone other than their bias getting praised. Jin is my favorite, I am genuinely a huge fan of his songs and his vocals because he resembles some of the classical singers I grew up listening to, and I always leave a positive comment about him wherever I can. But I've never been able to do so without the maknae line stans spamming their hate & toxicity. I've seen this happen every time someone praises the hyung line. I don't understand how someone can be so vile and gross when their supposed idols are such nice & sweet human beings.

Even their recently released song "The girls " was full about hate toward BTS & others kpop idols. And I felt ashamed of being a blink. So I left this toxic fandom forever. This is so much needed in their ch 2 Thank you for making this, recently solos of one member were boycotting his work just because the promotion of their fav was not according to their wish . I myself were very afraid of solo stans that I couldn't claim my bias (jungkoook) fearing that I would fall to be one of them but thankfully I've come to learn that it's okay to have bias (basically someone to relate to the most like a twin) and at the same time I've grown to love the other members equally that I love them in all what they do whether solo work or group work as they always represent home to me

We share the same ending theory. People who Stan the less globally-popular groups are the ones who only root for literally one bts member and try to stir up strange rumors and drama.

Solo's are a disease in the fandom, ppl say that hyung line stan's are much more loyal than maknae line stan, but in my opinion all of the 7 stan's can be bad bc I have also seen some toxic hyung line stan's before. I'm not sure if I agree with the end theory mainly bc from what I've seen solos are completely obsessed with their favorite member and only them. I think it might have to do with jealousy more than anything: jealousy they have to share the member with armys who also love the other 6 members, jealousy that they won't get solo tours (most likely), that the boys love and put the members first. Also the savior's complex: the member has to be miserable in order for the so called fan to be of some sort of relevancy to the member they "love". They need to feel importance, to feel like they're smarter than Armys and like they're the heroes and we're the enemies. It bothers me a bit that so much of the bad behaviors get thrown towards multistans when so many of us dedicate ourselves to BTS with all we have, they're number one for many of us (myself included), but we also love other groups. In fact, in my country at least, I've mainly observe this savior behavior from Only Armys! I always comment that I think the fact that they seem to not know any other companies as well as maybe someone who is a multi does probably contributes in creating these ideas. I'm a Neverland and I've seen just how horrible a company can be by witnessing the mistreatment (G)I-dle goes through. I know how an idol behaves when they don't like their company bc I see (G)I-dle "jokingly" talk crap about Cube any chance they get, specially since they kicked out one of their members. And Idle is one of those groups that have a lot of creative freedom, so I can't imagine how it is for groups in companies that control everything. I know it was probably not your intention to throw shade at all multis and that a lot of ppl would say "if it doesn't apply to you don't feel offended", but it's just that Armys who are multi get so much sh*t and so many ppl even say we're not real Armys, which can be really discouraging when it comes to fandom interaction. I really wish ppl would analyse individuals instead of lumping us all with antis (again, not saying that's what you did, just a comment). This video is incredible and I really wish more ppl would see it, specially mantis as they seem to constantly fall for whatever bs solos spread. Even if we just analyse it from a capitalist pov Hybe and BigHit would be incredibly stupid to mistreat their biggest source of income, specially considering that so many labels would kill to have them!

I always thought this line distribution issue was really stupid and I'm happy to see so many people agree lol. Not everything has to be exactly equal all the time, and sometimes there is a lot of stuff that happens behind the scenes that you don't see so you can't even say that one person was not allowed an opportunity to contribute this and that. All they care about it what's on the surface when there's so much more happening under the surface that they don't see. And I think it's an insult to the guys that these solos think they know better than the members themselves about what's good for them.

I became an ARMY in Oct 2020, and when i joined twitter, i was so fed up and annoyed because since then if anything new was released you will surely see a hashtag with a member's name being mistreated by bighit and if we try to correct them, they will even question your loyalty as an OT7. I wouldn’t call a solo stan a fan because if they were they would love all 7 of the boys as they are all incredibly talented and just genuine and lovely guys. It’s fine to have a bias but solo stans have ulterior motives for sure.

Some solo stands in my opinion, don't even like or respect the artist they stand . What they like is the image they created in their mind of that artist (fantasy)and not the real person. Because if they did, (in the case of BTS) they would respect all the other members of the band. We all know how close the members of BTS are, how much they care for each other, how much they support and respect each other, and we all know their message of love, peace... While the message of these solo stands is completely opposite to the message conveyed by BTS and some of them are really nasty in their comments about the other members...

I, like others below, also love what you are doing. I have never really thought about, or come across, the kind of solo stan you describe. Most people I know will say they are OT7 but within that, their bias is ..., which is, I think different. Without analysing the matter in the way you have done, if I had ever met someone who said they only like (one member), I would never have counted them as ARMY. But, actually, I wonder if they would ever frame their thinking in that way, or would they say they like BTS but have one favourite. I certainly find that some complaints about "mistreatment" or line distribution have been rather immature, and have, when I see them, challenged them albeit gently. Many ARMYs ARE still young and sometimes over sensitive, as we all can be at times. I've found that they seem to accept what I say (usually that BTS makes the decisions themselves, and I trust their wisdom) in good part.

During the chapter 2 the solos are very vocal. They keep appearing even if i block them on SNS. They are even harassing the ot7 accounts

i just found your channel through your recent video abt longevity being in my recommended and am excited to dive into your other videos! i love your channel name :) I hope this video gets a lot more attention, it’s something that’s been talked about for a while now on like twt obviously but it’s important to keep disputing this stuff to keep them away from our spaces and stop letting ppl fall into their narratives. Esp in this next period where I’m ngl I hope solos don’t get even more unbearable and new fans who come in from solo work don’t fall for their bs, treat them like the antis they are 😪 they’re all miserable people in every aspect and rlly are all fans of other groups. I think that since THEIR fav groups don’t have as much freedom like bts or aren’t as sincere or close family as them, the fact bts isn’t like these other groups blows their minds so they become in denial and create all those crazy ass theories and nitpick everything. They pick the member they hate the “least” and run w it. they hate bts more than they supposedly love their fav, their accounts are just a platform to spread bts hate. Also wanna add that I agree there are Nooo good solos. Even if they don’t disrespect the other members, it validates/amplifies all other solo antis and gives them a space to exist. The two categories of people that I can't call fans/ARMYs are solos and shippers... Jungkook is my bias but I always say that the others are just as talented, awesome, beautiful, etc. I really love all the work they do, the people they are, I'm proud of them all. And I do not tolerate any disrespect towards anyone. Being a very sensitive person, I react very quickly and I often get defensive when people talk about BTS! Even with videos that are intended to be harmless and funny, I am wary, I very often end up regretting having started watching the video... Especially when Jk is the subject (because he is their favorite target) of mockery at through the video and/or in the comments. I mentioned the shippers because they are really toxic and completely delusional. I'm sure a tiny part of them are harmless but I can't stand the content at all anymore, especially when it concerns Jungkook. I fell into their trap at the beginning of my BTS journey and then quickly realized that there was a lot of weird stuff in their videos, especially when you watch the original content in full. There are exceptions like the videos of Jungkook and a member of the hyung line because often they are cute and/or funny videos but nothing cringe. Since most people don't ship them, they just want to show off their interactions and the kind of brotherhood they have. But as soon as the title includes the word "jealousy", it makes me cringe and I skip the video. Anyway, that's not what I meant initially but I always overshare, sorry. I wanted to give an example with Jk's G.C.F in Tokyo (feat. Jimin as main character). I came to admire the work of my bias and then I wanted to know the opinions of others... I didn't read all the comments but I was shocked and disappointed because instead of talking about the video and Jungkook's work, people kept saying the same thing over and over again. They were all talking about Jimin and saying crappy things about their ship.

I know so many people who say they are "ARMY" and they have heard 3 songs or something and if I heard about calling the members as husband I'm tailing out of there. They only care about that tagging ARMY will make them look cool or whatever. And completely disregard Hyung line. I know many younger fans have Maknae line as their bias, there is nothing wrong with that. The problem happens when they cross their boundaries, disliking other members just because of line distribution or screen time, blah blah. Honey, you need to understand it's 7 or nothing. If you are claiming to be an ARMY, you have to respect and love each member and the group as a whole, it's 7 or nothing. Also, I want to say that if someone claim their ARMY and don't know anything about their music or only care about their achievements and awards, it's a big red flag. I understand if you're new to the BTS hole please, do discover their old releases, there are hidden gems in them. I still know so many "ARMY'S" who don't even know dark and wild exists or face yourself album exists. As an ARMY we support each member solos, mixtapes, playlists and their group projects wholeheartedly and as ardently as we can.

Yes they are solo, ot3 ot6 ot2 etc But there are some who says they are army but if u ask them do u know their name? Yes. Do u know their real name?? Hmm yeah but only 2 3 members. What is ur fvrt song? Butter(bcz they knew only butter no other song) Have u watched run bts?? What it means So I can give many example like this. They say they are army but they doesnt even listen their song, doesnt know about anything like nothing. They will see bts on youtube shorts thats it. They are just behind visual and fame of BTS. Such people are not Army. And unfortunately they are my cousins.

Also i hate that solos are claiming our things like taehyung solos claiming 'Borahae', Jk solos claiming Festa song never let go as their. They act like we are mistreating the boys. But they are forgetting the fact that without the og armys none of their favourites would have existed. I am not being rude claiming that tannies owes armys but i am seriously fed up with these solo stans. Yesterday jk's solo spam all our ot7 chart accounts and fundraiser just because we decide to chart Jin's song. They are saying we have abandoned a new release NGL. I've actually have one video where I asked army's if they are truly army's and if they are OT7 of if they only like one member, and 94% of them pick OT7, but there was a 6% that scared me bc 2 of them already admitted that their not BTS army 5 of them admitted that they are army's and 1 of them was one of my friends

I understand that about line distribution but I still wish it was little bit more fair. Specially for Jin. Some song’s line distribution is really messy.like literally one or two lines for him. At least they could give him more screen time. Because it matters a lot.people often sleep on him due to lack of lines and screen time. They must have equal lines considering all the songs but when it comes to their main songs until recent tomes Jin has less lines. Not only him also v and the rap line too.

Just found this video. I’ve been ARMY for several years now. I understand the position of leader. I have always thought Jungkook is main vocal because he does ad libs, support other singers during chorus, guide and has steady vocal range.
