Hey sha p, thank you. Here -og are options specific to the ls command. You can see all of the options for the ls command by typing "ls --help". When put together, the options, or flags, o and g will not report owner and group information. I use these flags sometimes in tutorials because it keeps the clutter down so viewers don't have to process so much information. That's the logic but isn't required, so it's mainly a personal preference. Thanks for the question. Best, Paul
