As a pin designer and seller my heart goes out to these people. This such a tedious job. Thank y’all.

this looks so dangerous with all the machinery and acid but then there's such cheerful music, really liked seeing where pins come from though!

Not all acids are like Sulfuric or Hydrochloric acid, he wasn't even wearing gloves. These are mild acids probably not much stronger than lemon juice for cleaning.

It’s crazy to see that all color is still applied by hand. Is this how it’s done everywhere still, or are there also some that have automated that process I wonder
@BricktowneMedia
@BricktowneMedia 2 года назад
still 99% done by hand. I would say. I don't knw for sure but, this will be automated in time I would bet! For now though, It's still down to skilled artist
@AppleIPie
@AppleIPie Год назад
There's absolutely a machine lmao. The one I saw can do up to 5 or 6 colors in one run through. It means the company using it had an upcharge for more than 5 colors, since they gotta put it through more than once.

There's some weird Engrish/grammar going on in this, but it's actually really informative. I'm curious as to what you mean by 'flintiness' though. From the process, I'm assuming you're tempering the metal to deal with the cutting stresses better, but I'm no expert.
@lutze5086
@lutze5086 5 лет назад
yes its hardening. it will become more brittle possibly inspiring the use of "flintiness"

The first part of your comment answers the last part. You were curious about the process, and now you know. The video is full of little translation quirks like this. It does make sense, but it isn’t exactly the way native English speakers would phrase it.
