Mike's mom really is her son's hero. Her holding a memorial for all the people who helped in this case is just the final bit of proof that she's a good person who in no way deserved this happening to her son. RIP Mike

Worldly desires, treasures, lust of eyes & pride of life became her new gods. (“For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life-is not from the Father but is from the world.” 1 John 2:16, ESV) “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions,” (2 Timothy 3:1, ESV) Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. Then it was undoubtedly confirmed for me when the wife decided to cut contact with the mother in law because she wanted answers. I’ve heard a lot of horrible cases. Cheryl really is a legend - almost 18 full years and she finally got justice. It’s sad to think but I’ve heard of cases where the parents die before they find out the truth about the circumstances of their children’s deaths and the fact she finally got closure is so amazing. Also not sure if it’s what the granddaughter wants (she’s an adult and can do what she wants and is probably grieving in her own right) but I hope she decided to connect with Cheryl after all these years (the fact she gave the remains to Cheryl is a good sign but still they deserve to have a relationship of some sort, especially after her parents called Cheryl crazy when they were the crazy ones, but she also defended her mom and put the blame solely on Brian so not sure if that could happen).

I am surprised with the daughter's words. How delusional she is that she tried to defend her mother saying she was been abused by Brian. She didn't gave it a thought where her grandmother fought for her dad throughout the time, in other hand her mother tried to cut all relation with them , took all the money, got married with the killer. If she was being that much abused then why didn't she go to her in-laws and confess and ask for help? She had all the options to take the right steps. She also should be monitored ........She is also scary ....

Cases like this are so insane to me. I knew of one years ago and then became personally connected to it through my dentist, of all people. I had an appointment and one of his assistants/a good friend to me that I babysat for while I was there in college told me “He’s a little nervous today - his wife has been granted a day out of prison for the holidays so it’ll be the first time he, her, and their daughters will be together alone since about 5 years ago.” I said, “….Huh?? What did she do??” And she told me years ago she had a first husband and she decided to have an affair, and decided she would rather be with him than her husband. Instead of divorce him, she ALSO chose murder! She called the police in the middle of the night and said her husband worked at the library and had the key, and these two black men wanted to rob it, so they came to his personal residence and broke in and killed him for the library key. So far fetched, but they believed her!! The “men” got away and she actually did not ever go on to marry her affair partner. Maybe too much stress. Some years later they somehow had this open up again, maybe with more details being found with the murder weapon? It was a bat. He was bludgeoned with a bat, by her affair partner, while he slept. I think she was in the other room and called the police as soon as her partner was out of the area, and then said something about how the “robbers” tied her up and threw her on the floor but left her alone otherwise. Anyway, I’m not sure what exactly happened but police somehow figured out the affair partner was connected. As it was years later and he wasn’t with her anymore, he immediately told them it was not a robbery and he murdered this man at the command of his wife. I think he got a reduced sentence for that. So they eventually came looking for her as well. They showed up at her house with her family and new husband of several years (my dentist), asked if she is who they think she is, and they told her she’s under arrest for the murder of her first husband. There’s a documentary about this called something like “a knock at the door” or something, it’s what I saw years ago as a kid and then as an adult had this woman’s husband as my dentist! But knowing him personally to be one of the kindest, gentlest, most friendly people ever… can you imagine being at home having dinner with your family and the police knock on your door and arrest your wife right in front of you for KILLING her husband from 20 years ago??? It was the first he ever heard of it! He found out on the spot! I can’t even imagine! 😭 I think she may still be in prison, or at least I hope so. That was just a day she had been granted without supervision with her family, but idk, I haven’t kept up. She may very well be out. She too said it was against her religion to divorce. So murder is better! 🥴 What a nut!
