[SOLVED] DaVinci Resolve 17 NO AUDIO ISSUE

First thing is ALL!!!! I search for over 5 hours on youtube... Everyone says and shows something and in fact they don't show anything ... This first one with "MANUAL", "SAVE" and "RESTART" solved all my problems! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, brother! THANK YOU! Subscribe and like!

You're the man! The first two methods didn't work, but when I converted it from MP4 to MP4 on cloudconvert, all of a sudden the sound came back. So weird haha. Liked and subbed :)

for those who it didn't work for, I found another solution. go to your browser and search "rip audio from video" and more than likely it will be the first website that pops up on google, convert your video audio into mp3 then drop it into davinchi. this worked like a charm.

I've had this issue updating from 16 to 17 (17.1.1 too), fixed it by swapping the speaker config (in preferences -> video audio I/O) to manual; this is the only video that helped me so far.

I watched 2 other videos that had solutions but yours was the only one with the details of what to check in the speaker setup which was the fix. Something learned and subscribededed.

For the people who's files are too big for cloud convert, and basically VLC is your only practical option atm. You can try to use the original or the converted mp4 file (as long as there's audio working when playing in VLC player), and convert that file into audio only (mp3 file). be sure when converting, remove the .mp4 in the name as this can cause an error in davinci. i have tried this method and it works, and in davinci, be sure to link the video and audio file when you've successfully sync the two files. You can easily do this by selecting the video and audio clips, right clicking, and near the bottom of the selection there should be "'link clips" option.

Ok ok.... 20+ videos later and I stumbled across this needle in a haystack! You my good Sir are a champion! Like seriously, everyone else is like re-record your content, make sure your audio settings is correct. Like I don't know that already! Easy pz, short and sweet, go to the website, convert, done. Thank you!

You were right, the video I used was an MKV/AVI converted into MP4 using VLC. That's what makes it unusable I just tested a video that is already MP4 originally, it plays out perfectly Thank you

Didn't work for me :( for my headphones it show's my right and left are unassigned and when you try to assign there is nothing - sound comes out of my TV when I use that but if I try and set it as headphones it does not work FML it makes me hate this program - sometimes it works then stops ANGRY!

There is no 'manual' option in mine. Maybe that's the problem. I KEEP having this issue. No sound, over and over, and each time I either fix it a different way, or it just starts working again. VERY frustrating.

I have been looking on YT for a while and I can’t figure out out to fix this problem I have: when I cut out part of the audio+video clip I need to cut the audio stays and the video cuts. Do you know how to fix this?

the converter can't handle my file size any other suggestions for converters for large video sizes outside of VLC?

This doesn't actually FIX the issue where known good clips don't show any audio in Davinci Resolve.

01:15 On my Davinci, I only have video I/O, audio I/O and monitor system external outputs. There is no "speaker set up" option here. What should I do?

My speaker setup option is totally grey and can't change anything, is there any solution?

Yesss. Finally the problem was solved. Thanks. 6h of useless work and eighth video. This Davinci is childishly buggy. So how did I solve the problem? I randomly changed the Video and Audio I / 0 settings. So I don't know. Next time I try to solve it in just 15 minutes and then move on to another program.

I updated/upgraded to 17.2 from 16.2 yesterday and I have no video OR audio playback of any of the projects and when I click the "play" button...it turns red and nothing happens Please help

I know it has something to do with format but cloud convert has a maximum of 1gyg cap. Looking for something else. Even adobe premiere does not like the format, it says unsupported format. mkv file.

Not mine unfortunately...there's sound on the attributes when it's in the media pool but as soon as I drag it to the timeline there's no sound clip linked...

1:40 mine doesn't have Embedded channel 2 for some reason and I think that's why i have no audio...

whenever i click on preferences, it crashes my davinci. im using 17.4.6.

After I did it, my audio did work perfectly but for some reason my clips were randomly sped up as well as my audio and cant fix it

So you are saying there is a compatibility problem with Davinci, so it is only detecting audio on *** files? (sorry I hear you saying MP5, but than there is no such, so I assume you meant MP4) My gopro videos are in MP4 format... I mean, I went thru all the things, like you said, the last step remained, because I still don't have sound. I am not convinced as it should play wav or mp3 files too. Could you make a video of how is your fairlight set up?
