In this video we talk about the indominus rex, the t-rex rexy and how it got over the drop off / cliff in Jurassic Park back in 1993. The restricted section in jurassic world, and what was in there in 2015, indominus rex, the black indominus rex, and how the white indominus rex was a sad story. Including, scenes on the velociraptors, TREX (rexy) indoraptor, and scenes from Jurassic World, & Dominion. I enjoy making videos about dinosaurs such as this one!
Dinosaurs! this is not the indoraptor, but it is the t-rex tyrannosaurus in jurassic world, but it could be the indominius rex, but not the giganotosaurus, not thegamingbeaver, but shadows, jurassic world dominion ending, but giganotosaurus vs therizinosuaurs, real dinosaurs, not TGB or jurassic world dominion, but spinosaurus, not netflix Jurassic world, the giganotosaurus

Seems so pointless having the moat if they make a platform for it to walk up to the fence 🤣
@benmiller5015
@benmiller5015 6 месяцев назад
Nah, think of it like this. If there's a big moat n a concrete wall taller than rexy around 99% of her paddock then there's no reason to electrify most of the fence. So at the observation area you can place more security measures like extremely high voltage fencing. Remember it was never intended for the rexes to be at that area of the fence while the power was off
@jpfan4life812
@jpfan4life812 6 месяцев назад
If the moat was meant to keep the t rex away from the visitors, then wouldn't that make the electric fence pointless?
@benmiller5015
@benmiller5015 6 месяцев назад
@@jpfan4life812 it would. But you also have to have a viewing area. So you bring the elevation up in the one area where the visitors will pass by, put an underground tunnel with an elevator to give the rex snacks, n electrify the beejesus out of the fence in that one area n boom, safety inspection passed. The rex wasn't supposed to be by that area when the power was off, for maintenance n whatnot

Actually, there's a very clear explanation in the books. The T-Rexes cage had a massive mulch around it i.e the drop off except for a small part that let up from down below to the side of the fence to allow the t-rex to come up and feed on the goat within view of the passing cars. This way that if the t-rex ever tried to escape it could only escape for a very small part of the fence. Of course they did not count on there being a massive hurricane and most of the staff having left. And with The fence being electrical and the paddock being filled with food, water and everything else the t-rex we need. They didn't believe there'd be a reason for it to even try to escape on that small viewing heel.

I think this is a plot error because of the Hurricane Situation they had, they lost time, money and some pieces of production. Probably Spielberg has cutted this explanation for this and some pace reasons, like Ray Arnold's death... A shame, but on a first view you never though of that. I have been aware of this for a longer time, probably since 2013 or 2014, when the set plans for the filming became public. But every time I've talked about this somewhere, I've either been accused of being a liar, or I've been told that the plans are non-canonical and the plot hole remains. That's why I'm glad that more and more people are aware of them and the set plans will be familiar to everyone.

It was definitely an editing error. When Ian is in the back of the jeeps the at the top and you see Ian say come on and then they're magically at the bottom and no fence. So it make sense that the scene was also an editing error but still makes for cinematic gold all great sceens.

As a kid when i first saw it. I never wondered how the T-Rex got over the dropoff. I always wondered where the dropoff came from. Cause i noticed the grass around the goat platform. The T-Rex just walks onto the road. And suddenly there is a dropoff. Never understood. Now after several explainations i wonder how the hell its so confusing in a otherwise near perfect movie.

Funny enough when I watched it as a kid my sister asked where the dropoff came from I looked her in the eye and said "it was there we just didnt see it" she replied "what about the rex crossing?", I said "well she used the road where the goat was", huh i guess that makes sense and we continued watching. If you look at the scene, the section that they went over the edge at was also one past where the fence was there, just a short concrete barrier as that section of it does not have the posts for the fencing, so it was closer to the tunnel end of things there.

I know, I was thinking the exact same thing, but at 5:30, they show that the entire fence has been destroyed (which, honestly, does not make a ton of sense). However, in the screenplay drawings, such as at 3:52, it is clear that only one section of the fence is destroyed; the section that the T-Rex broke through. The section of fence where the Explorer falls off the ledge is almost fully intact.

Actually there's a very clear explanation. It's simply a mistake. The filmmakers stated publicly, albeit quietly, many years ago that they fucked up. The Production Designer and Art Director and even Spielberg himself overlooked the logic of the scene and didn't even consider they'd need to explain the lack of continuity. In the book, the T-Rex paddock does indeed have a concrete moat behind the fence line that separates the enclosure from the fence line. And yes, in the film, Hammond does mention the existence of moats when discussing security measures. However, the Making of Jurassic Park book contains early concept art for the film which shows a couple of concept examples of the paddock with a moat but the final design that was constructed by the Art Department does not have a moat which indicates the filmmakers opted out of building it (either due to cost or a lack of necessity)...that is until they realized they had to drop the jeep into a tree. In the film, during the daytime scenes showing the T-Rex Paddock (filmed on location in Hawaii) there's clearly no moat behind the fence. You can literally see ground, tree trunks, and shrubbery in each direction of the frame and then there's the whole thing about the goat coming up out of the ground. However the nighttime scenes where the Rex breaks free (filmed on a soundstage) a moat exists and it's only revealed once the Rex begins to push the Jeep over the concrete lip and through the fence line. In the book, the T-Rex basically tosses the jeep up into a tree off to the side of the Tour Jeeps' road which is something they were never going to be able to pull off in the film at that time. So in a way, the Jeep being pushed through the fence line and falling into the tree was the alternative/solution to the book's handling of the Jeep. Oversights and mistakes, even big ones like this, happen all the time in Film and TV.

3:52 - basically what i thought all along, but going back to the movie could never confirm. what REALLY confused me however was this: 0:51 - first glimpse of the entrance of the paddock = vehicles exit concrete tunnel 2:48 - this scene i assumed took place at the exact same spot as the trex reveal scene, so i was confused why there was a long continuous dirt road and no tunnel. i had to play the sega cd game to realize that theres the tour track, and jeep accessible manual roads. now i didnt have to play the game, the scene where Nedry escapes and dies along with the scene with the triceratops wouldve been enough, but i wasnt even 10 years old yet.

Most of the paddock was shot in the studio so that explains some of the inconsistencies in the choreography and continuity but I always thought when I was younger that the T-Rex pushed the car to the other side of the road where there was the moat drop off and I thought that until someone pointed out that the car is on the same side. I now accept that the T-Rex pushed the car further down because you can see multiple breaks in the fence on screen, not just one. Even if it's a little choppy that's a legitimate explanation especially because it was choreographed that way.

There is actually a very simple explanation for this scene - the T.rex goes through the fence between the two jeeps, then it goes to Lex's and Timmy's jeep, much further ahead, pushes it even further ahead, and then drops it off at that location. So the T.rex was actually quite far away from the precipice when it went through the fence.

Oh, I always assumed this was simply the other side of the road.

Nice video! I will be honest. I did not think about it. I missed that detail.

And yet, when Jurassic World revisits the site of the suv, it's not a moat and clearly part of open space.

I seriously feel I'm the only person on the planet who figured that out from the start. Granted, I was about 11 when I first saw the movie, and kids usually jump the most simple conclusion, which is usually the correct one. All those people saying it made no sense were just overthinking.

TBH, every time I watched it, I never cared. The fact that she WAS out was more important than HOW she got out.

I always assumed that the ledge was opposite the t rex enclosure, so if the cars drove up and you saw the enclosure on your left the car was pushed off the right side.

The ledge is some distance in front of the place where the T.rex breaks out; the T.rex came from an area that was closer to Alan's and Ian's car, whereas the precipice was closer to Lex's and Timmy's car. If you carefully check the scenes in the movie, then you can see that this was how it happened.

When you watch this part of the film, the front car door is closed when the T rex is walking around and stays closed until the kid closes it and the T rex looks at them. How did it open ?

Or the feeding area only slopes in one direction, the other is a straight drop off. So the Rex has to approach it from either the other side, or walking towards the fence. It doesn't have to be a hill on all sides. This isn't a plot hole, its a nitpick.
