Tim Melvin, more like Tim Delving into the depths of academia to help me with a project that I have. Sorry Tim, your name didn't rhyme quite like I'd hope it would but the help you have provided me today is immeasurable. Thank you good sir.
Thank you so much its 2024 and still helped me. I am a university students i couldnt get anything in class but watching this video has solved everything
I attended every class so far in this semester, i decided to not attend a class cause i had another midterm, and to my surprise the test will be mostly simplex method questions using the solver. Don't know why he went through the process of teaching us how to do all the iterations manually, but thank god your video exists.
Dear Tim, I saw your post ~ Solving Linear Programming Problem using Excel's Solver ~ I would ask you to help me solve a single task with Solver, since I'm bad at Solver.
at the part where you calculated the maximum equation, why did you add the first two x's but subtracted the 3rd? In my class we just added all of them.
I need Solver to accept formulas in the Variable Cells Line so that it can select only certain cells within a range. Is this possible? If not, is there an alternate method to achieve my goal?
you can try this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1I2_QPGebbg.html here you can learn how to define objective function along with Solver tutorial
Great video, thanks! But how would it be possible to restrict the optimal solution to whole numbers? I get decimals  It's probably an easy fix, but I can't figure it out 🙁
You can try with changing formula for Z. Put INT(currentformula). Best way that I recommend is to add int in the constraint box for decision variables.
