9:56 Regarding the doctor, the safe area he sent you to "recover" was he teleported you to a nearby area which had no monsters at the time, like for example you were cutting trees in draynor village and you would get teleported to the forest south of jail, which of course the jail guards and goblins did see you.

You can still find Dr Ford in the Citharede Abbey, the place clan wars used to be. Has some references to the random event.

9:10 regarding the tangle vine - this was briefly in the game for less than a day. The vines would spawn around a player, and if you walked on them you would take damage. The intention is that you had to stand still, the vines would de-spawn, and you could carry on. But naturally, players didn't understand this, so they would carry on moving ignoring the vines, or would try to run away from the vines, and hence die. Lots of player deaths, confusion, and complaining on the forums, and these vines were swiftly removed.

I think they removed the vines because they were counterintuitive. The way to safely resolve it was to stand still, but when a bunch of vines popped up many players' first reaction was to run away, damaging them. It required the opposite of what players expected, kinda like if the strange plant attacked you if you tried picking the fruit rather than attacking you for ignoring it.

The grassland area west of elf lands is on basically every private server from the 317 cache area. Most servers admins used it for testing. Lol.

I remember when rs2 went into beta and i was doing ernest the chicken quest and i logout out in classic and later logged back in in rs2 and was losing my mind at the graphics. After finishing the quest on remeber finding the guy that allowed you to repeat quest. Thought for years after that he was still a thing and just couldn't find him again.

5:40 i think it's a minigame which is still in the game but useless. Like Gnome restaurant you have to deliver food to people, in Keldagrim the dwarf asks you to fetch certain items. Not much to it.

Oh man that candle event was the reason I actually quit RuneScape for a few months as a kid, me and my little brother got that event and couldn't figure it out... Granted we were like 7, we eventually logged back in and there was a message saying that the mods had released us from the event

Hmm... Blue tree... Well I'm guessing it's an invalid alpha color or texture. So In older video games you couldn't just have an invisible thing. And also all textures have to be a square. So you would paint a leaf on a blue square and then tell the game engine, hay don't render that blue, and then bam tree leaves in odd shapes not just a square. But the game engine is very picky. if you say hay don't render blue you have to say EXACTLY which blue so you say (0, 0, 255) is invisible but something happened to the texture import and changed it from 255 to 254 then the game engine thinks it's normal blue and wont cull it. Also the "don't draw" color is set game wide, so you can't pick and choose for each item you make. (well back then anyways) Also most game engines use a bright pink (255, 0, 255) as it's not a "natural" color and is really really easy to see when you mess something up. Half life 1 uses blue though..

I remember there was a glitch in the farm house across from the cow field by lumby, if you went upstairs you could run outside of the building, just running on the air up there. They fixed it pretty quickly

So I still have my 15 year old PC that I played runescape on but there is one problem. One day it blue screened and I never got it to work again, I found out later it was a corrupted harddrive so I could probably get the data recovered from it since there was no actual physical damage to the drive itself, but i'm not sure how expensive that service is lol. If I knew there was hope of finding stuff like this on that pc, I'll send the drive off to a recovery service 100%.

9:19 I remember that vine, it would hurt you rapidly if you tried to move and everyone would tell eachother "Stand still or you will die!" It was removed because the game didn't explain it to you and many people would start panicing and trying to run away and die from it.

I seem to have a very vivid memory of a bug in Runescape that nobody else remembers. Keep in mind that I was like 9 years old at time. It would have been in December of 2007 or early 2008. The GE was new to the game, and I remember finding out about a bunch of random items in the game just by browsing the GE, but a lot of those items were untradeable. I remember seeing Castle Wars capes, Mogre hats, flippers, etc. listed on the GE, but you obviously couldn't buy them. Anyone else remember this bug?

I'm sure the minigame icon was at dwarves for the trading company. You were meant to fufill their orders or something.

It's not "euros, pounds, or wherever you live" that's like saying this computer is 5 pounds, kilograms, tons, or whatever from where you live. The units are convertible, so you have to give the number with the unit. Obviously I know you know that they are worth different amounts, but that was not the correct phrasing you should use.

In 2005 I became a member by sending a £5 note in an envelope to jagex. I logged on every day after school, excited to be a member and was disappointed for like 2 weeks until it finally started. Paid for membership that way 3 times before managing to convince my mum to use her card. Did anyone else do this? I've never heard anyone mention it.

I saw the vine random event ONCE in varrock bank as I passed by. It's like a vague dream like memory. I just remember some dude in full iron warning everyone not to move or else they will lose their bank. Now that I think about it, random events don't happen in banks right? Can anyone confirm or deny that they used to?

Speed running quest would be awesome! We could see the fastest time on some of the longest quest in the game and maybe discover new/faster methods to complete them.
