It's likely that Jou meets Somas mother out of school, since he's still in his Asura phase before meeting her. After that, his cooking is lightened, something happens, then he leaves and starts Yukihiras.

Xeonsas - Phoenix It's not obvious because Souma and Joichiro have different last names. Erina knows him as Saiba Joichiro, not Yukihira. So it's understandable that she didn't know.

Saiba Joichiro changed his name to Yukihira, from what I understand at least, to get away from his past. @ Tofu King, Everyone else in Polar Star Dormitory knows that it is his father, because he visited Souma at one point, at the dorm, and they all met him. Nakiri is not a member of the dorm, she ran away from her father, and was hiding out there. At this point in the story, she had only been there for a few weeks at most, Souma's father had visited much longer before that. I'd been keeping up with this series on CrunchyRoll as a premium member, and believe me, when I watched this episode, and then read the comments saying that there wouldn't be another episode for at least 4 months, I was devastated... Had been waiting for her to find out, ever since the plot showed us that she had been looking for Joichiro, so dumping that off at the end like they did, and no new episode for several months... I'm gonna go CRAZY waiting for this new season to start QQ

Soma is definitely Joichiro's biological son. Their physical resemblance is shown side by side several times throughout the anime, especially in the first season. And in Joichiro's high school photos, he looks exactly like current Soma, minus the slightly lighter hair color and different way of styling it.

Yes and no. Erina’s opinions of Soma had already begun changing by this point. First was his performance in the Autumn Election, particularly in the final (even though he didn’t win). Next was when Erina realized Hisako returned to her side as a result of Soma as well as Hisako’s acknowledgement and newfound trust and respect of him. At the beginning of season 3 Erina acknowledges Soma belongs at Totsuki and is concerned he’s going to get himself kicked out of school due to his carelessness in the Moon Banquet Festival. What does change is Erina’s personal feelings toward Soma as well as how she views herself and her own cooking. After she eats the tempura egg bowl, she remembers that’s the kind of cooking she always wanted to do, and as the Totsuki Train arc proceeds she begins to realize her feelings for him and begins to trust and rely on his strengths.

Easily the best scene in this anime so far. I can't wait to see if they make a dub and if the scene is as good. I can't wait to see Erina talking to Soma after she found out that Saiba was his dad. I ship Soma and Erina so I want to see how she feels toward him now. I especially want to see her tell the truth about his cooking too. The fourth plate will definitely be a great season.
