Somali land prepares for mass cattle trade

Despite famine in the region, animal traders in Somalia are preparing for a busy month ahead.
Animals outnumber the human population of Somalia which benefits the traders. The livestock and agriculture face a boom during the season of Eid.
Millions of goats, sheep, camels, and cattle are sold to Saudi Arabia.
Al Jazeera's Nazine Moshiri reports from Hargeisa.

All this while i never heard about somaliland and i thought this land does not exists.. until i met this person.. his name is Guled and he is originally from Somaliland. Currently he is persuing his chartered accountant in Malaysia. Dear Somalilanders, please accept my apology for the wrong perception. May Allah bless your country and people in Somaliland.

That is my cusan he has 3 wives but he is about 48 years old, he got married when he was about 19, when his first wifes children got old he got married again , that was in 2001 and then he got married i think in 2006 i am sure he at least has 27 children.

Mostly if you want to produce something with your own God will help , also droughts aren't common in Somaliland but sometimes they happen maybe one in four years and in that time we fix the problems anyway

Somaliland deserves full recognition .. 23 years of peace , justice and democracy the least the world can do is at least organise referendum vote. Lets face it who would wana unite with Somalia?

the federal goverment of somalia it might be recognice around the world.. but come on ur own so call president cant even leave his hide away house.. you call that goverment? trust me somaliland are far better some countrys around the world in terms of freedom of speech.. ppl are happy, unite and support there goverment and each other.. talking about 18may. man that is big not only in somaliland but around the world

The Horn of africa is a very volatile part of the world and the truth is, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djaboti, and Sudan all want to see Somaliland get their long overdue recognition. Somalia brings problems to the Horn of Africa and all neighbouring countries favour, support and work closely with Somaliland because they have a functioning government in place in which law abiding citizens reside. The African Union wants both countries to unite because they know that Somalia cant function without Somaliland

just I saw this clip, it was three years ago, if I talk the greatest challenge somaliland people faced the unemployment. mostly somaliland economy depend on the livestock rearing because the Somali people they are rural society. I am one of the youth that worked this industry this company worked as voluntary organization. unforgettably cannot get encourage government and international investors because Somaliland is unrecognized country finally the organization become nonfunctional organization. many of employers they migrate Europe and other countries.

Very interesting, that Somaliland being the only stable region within the horn of Africa is not recognized by international coalitions. In contrast to Somalia, Somaliland is vibrant, peaceful, and strident to maintain it's economy. Somalia, was deemed a "failed state" by various governmental organizations, it was even a breeding ground for piracy and Al-shabab; yet Somaliland is refused international recognition. There's definitely something deeper at the root of this; it may lead to the U.N.

do see if you have 3 wives that is 3 children a year, but he didn't do that he waited untill all his first wifes children got old and can take care of there mother, then he got the second one, he doesn't have to think about the first wife that much, wifes get very old fast 15 years babys one after the other they get very old very soon, he didn't say he is got 27 children but they got is name right, but i am sure he has over 20, islam you can maxim 4.

it's no different then here in the America, in america you can get married have up to 8 children then divorce the wife again get married 8 more children, you see in the United State they don't let you keep two wives at same time, but in other countries they would let you keep wives, in Seattle Washington where i live there is 1 million women then man, i would like to have 2 wives, you can have girlfriend on the side but it's against the law to have two wives at same time,
