Please have 2 blankets available for this practice. You may find it more comfortable to put a thin blanket under the back of the head during the exercises; and we will be using 2 blankets for yummy neck and shoulder relaxation at the end of the session.

Hello Megan, I have learned so much from your videos! I integrate somatics in my yoga classes and have a question for my chair group; can this be done while seated? Any modifications I should know about?

Thank you Megan for another great video ❣🙏 This is a "lifesaver" for me! Since you taught me this excersise on my Yoga therapy session with you I´ve had such a relief and release. The migraine, headache and neck pain is pretty much gone. And it didn´t take long 😊 I´ll keep doing this to correct my head forward posture and to strengthen my neck.

I love these shorter vids since I have to target several parts a day, as well as make sure I’m looking at things holistically so shorter practices I can put together are really ideal.

I’m not sure why, but it almost feels like this was skipping a step. There was no way for me to do this without straining the back of my neck and or the shoulders. I tried starting with an arch so that my chin would go down a little bit, and that might’ve helped a little, but I still felt a lot of attention in the place where my shoulders meet the neck on the sides. There was just nothing I could do to make it stop. Very frustrating. I have a lot of sensory motor amnesia in the very top of my back below the neck so that could be the reason.

I am sorry you found it frustrating. You might find it helpful to do the movements and the lock with a small blanket under your head to slightly elevate it. Instead of lifting the head, do the "throat lock" with the head still supported and not lifted.
