Some ‘Compact’ Bibles - Are They Any Good? 

The Thomas is my favorite... In 2016 I was living in a hotel room going through dark times. It was Christmas, and one of my mom's friends brought me the brown one with the cross on the front. It was what got me through. After a few months of really using it and being happy with it, I had it in my backpack with a bunch of my things. Someone stole the backpack and i never saw it again... 😔 it makes me cry, because I would have given them everything I owned, if they just asked..

As a fellow Brit watching all these bible videos it's so nice to listen to such an English sounding person reviewing rather than yanks - no offence to them love their videos and accents (esp. some of the gorgeoous southern ones) but makes a nice change!

Oh wow! I have the ESV large print compact bible but it doesn’t have ribbon so i made my own, and it doesn’t have coloured edges and no red letters.

I refer to these as hiking Bibles. Small enough to put in a pack. However nothing is going to beat the compactness of the classic orange pocket New Testaments and green pocket Torah's.

Ok one more I need to my collection

I love the first edition Pitt and I have a 1947 rudy, they are my fav in compact bibles, thanks for sharing God Bless

Good review, Mark. That compact Westminster KJV is quite impressive. However, when it comes to compact Bibles, it is still very hard to top a Pitt Minion. But like you, I'm also partial to the Cambridge Cameo. Mine is the black calfskin version with the Apocrypha. Exquisite!

I actually have two of these three bibles. The compact ESV Bible(though grey with the crown of thrones) and the nkjv. Only thing about it I really don’t like is the words of Christ are in black. It’s not a huge deal but not what I’m used to. My personal favorite Bible is the Christian Standard Bible reference edition in a compact size.

I agree CAMEO is great. DIADEM will be too. CONCORD-esque.

Is the CAMEO wide margin also 8 POINT FONT. And legible? To me the CONCORD us the goldilocks bible. Small with good print. My first serious BIBLE back around 1969. Still have it. But also bot a new one.

The Thomas-Nelson NKJV Compact Reference Bible, Comfort Print is a 7.5 point font (not 8.5)

Beautiful Bibles.. But..I need at the very least. 20 pt. font. Preferably an 11 pt. or more..

Just started collecting and they are pricey so I got one today at a thrift store for 25 cents

As far as compact KJVs go I lean toward the Pitt Minion, and the Royal Ruby for ultra-compact.

Hi sir, I am looking for a compact KJV for reading (mostly whilst in bed), the 6pt font of the pitt minon doesn't bother me, but the fact that the width/height are the same as the Cameo is making me think the Cameo is the better option. How is it for reading like a proper book (while in your hands), is the weight okay? Thanks again

Compact westminster looks good but maybe hard to read the references.

Looking for a Compact 5 x 7ish KJV reference soft black leather and black text Bible at under $100.00. Do you know of any?

Not sure what a compact bible is but large print drives me crazy. So do bibles which top half is scripture and bottom half is endless reference. Thompson Chain Reference does excellent. Reference in the margin, tight double-columned down the center, and jam packed in the back with study material. To spread that out through the scriptures is obnoxious.

I really like the lion design bible how can I get that ? :)
