Don't farm 8 (except 8-4 for Maya) since chapter 9 got the oilcap.

After you get some ships and levels you should think about farming with a 1:1 fleet (one main and one vanguard) with low oil costs. I use Cassin or Downs with Langley, do not fully limit break them as every stage will increase their cost. I farm chapters 2 up to chapter 4 for about one hour per day. Each sortie has a chance of getting you an extra commission, some of which gives cubes or gems (usually I can get five commissions with cubes or gems as a possible reward). Never do cube research, dont pull on regular banner more then one a day (preferably only light, why not its free). If you are thinking about pulling for the permanent URs of New Jersey and Shinano.... don't, you will eventually get them through the pity. Reminder that most events also count for their pity.

as a player i wish i can play/grind this game for oil like the old days when retiring ship nett you some oil..nowadays pushing for event milestone leave you with more or less the same oil compared to when you start the event and wonder how you gonna push higher chapter..save your oil dont be fooled by cost limit when you can even do 1-1 fleet easy unless for levelling purpose

could you do a meta ships list or most important ships to pull as a beginner? I really don't want to mess up my pulls like in other gacha games where pulls are very limited in the beginning.
