Hi in the UK they are called Blue Badges. I am registered blind and have a Guide Dog, I have one that I can use in any car so we can park in disabled parking bays and have more room for myself & my Guide Dog to get out the car.

My placard is permanent, thank goodness. No waiting in line. I completely understand what you're saying about Leon. I was always feeling like that. Sadly, Kristoffer passed away two days after I had strokes. I've been disabled since and wouldn't have been able to take care of him. I miss my Kissifur very much, but I know he's running through Heaven with his sister and Papa, who left to Heaven 2 months before.

Absolutely understand your situation and you are right- you don’t understand unless you’re in that situation! “Permanent” seems so final, but we know any progress with our kids no matter how small is still progress! We believe it’s our purpose in life. You’re great parents!

I think I've only ever commented on one other video of yours. I don't think I mentioned being an adult with a disability I was born with called Spina Bifida. By no means is my life easy and my disability has it challenges, but it's the only way of being I've ever known. The challenging parts aren't what most people expect them to be. Though the disability and challenges are different between myself and Leon, one thing is the same, we were born this way and it's all we've ever known. The way you feel is completely understandable, but Leon's and my body just are how we've always known them to be. The hardest thing is having that viewed as wrong, bad, or suppose to be different from how it is. I just thought that hearing from an adult with a disability maybe be helpful.

Yes I know what your talking about. Every year we have to buy a tag we have to get there about 20 to 30 minutes before they open and sometimes people will already be there. But this year I was the first in line lol . We have to go in August so it was pretty hot 🥵🔥!! Jodi you are such a good mom. John is an amazing dad. I think that is is normal to feel that way. Leon is so sweet and smart. He communicates with his eyes. I’ve noticed that. I think he knows exactly what is going on he just may not be able to verbalize it. It’s fine. He is an amazing young man!

Hi I have disabilities too I'm here in Canada we didn't have registration cards to put in the car for me growing up even now I don't have anything so that when I go into another person's vehicle other than a family member I do not have anything to state that I have a disability I was born with my disability just like Leon it's okay to talk about Leon I would love to learn more about him because he is such a wonderful young man he seems to be communicating a little bit more now that I've seen him for a while here don't let anyone make you feel bad about your son people always told my mom to give me away at least you're not doing that because my mom didn't do it either don't let anyone make you feel guilty could you didn't do anything some people like to make others feel guilty but you have nothing to feel bad about you love your son and I can see that every time I watch your videos whatever your son's medical conditions are people need to learn to accept it my mom has accepted all my issues but feels bad because my mom had German Measles when I was born she felt so guilty and sometimes she still does not understanding why somebody would get sick and not tell her that they were sick this was in 1965 back then they didn't have much going on about German Measles I have a heart condition which was congenital I have eye problems which was congenital I have a hearing disability which was from when I was born and one leg that needs surgery I had heart surgery I had leg surgery and eye surgery before I was the age of three and I really think your son is a smart boy I really do I really like your family and I like you

They didn't even have to stop to put on your seatbelt like they did with Leon I didn't like being in the back of a car when I was little because of my eyesight being so low but I wish my mom had a medical band like you do on Leon's seatbelt I would not have been so scared if there hadn't been an accident because it would have told everybody about my condition it seems like nowadays they have a fix for everything when I was little I was so afraid of being in a back of a car actually I'm still scared of being in the back of a vehicle I feel like if there was an accident I would never get out that it would be so Unfair to me Because I wouldn't be able to explain my condition They should have it for adults as well I think Every time you go into a vehicle you would feel safe Because not everyone understands people with disabilities And I think there needs to be more done To make accessible things available for everybody You do so well with Leon I'm so happy that you do what you do with him That you make sure other people know what's going on Because he can't talk very much And if they're on non-verbal it's harder because you have to let people know what's going on So I just want you to know That I really think a lot of all of you And I think that you are very good parents And I think you deserve a lot of credit Because you are taking care of three not just one But three children And you do pay attention to Leon Some parents don't pay attention to their special need children And they don't realize what the child needs You are right on top of everything for him That's probably why he is so verbal now and starting to come out of a shell I noticed that he plays with his sister and brother pretty good So I think that people need to learn more About children with special needs Don't ever stop doing what you do all right Keep going until the kids don't want to be on Here anymore That's good too if they don't When they get older they may want to do their own thing And beat themselves But for now you are teaching the world how to treat people like Leon Don't let anyone Ever make you feel bad and don't let anyone pick on your son Don't let them make him feel bad either Because they're the wrong people not you And not Leon Leon is a wonderful young man And he's going to Always be A child that will need you They'll all need you but he needs you even more But I think Your way of life is good And I think that If it were me being there with you I would be your friend I would even help you I've worked with children like Leon a lot when I was younger Because of the school I went to One school I went to was four children with developmental challenges The last school I was in was my favorite and it was for the blind here in Canada My mother was good in instrumental in making sure that I did get some education But I was in the wrong school before that Before that I was in a school in another town and then I was in one in a big city But I never got the care that I did Before I went to the school for the blind It was my favorite place and I learned a lot about music I learned how to be kind to other people And how to show love and compassion Good night

In the Northen Ireland and well the rest of the UK we have something different called the Blue badge it has basically has the picture of either yourself or the child who requires a disability badge and it just means you have to have it on display when you are parked in a disabled spot other wise you get a fine even with my autism, ADHD & Bipolar plus my physical disabilities I am able to drive I get a mobility car that is built to meet my needs which I get a new car every 3 years cause when you get a brand new car you don’t have to MOT it for 3 years so that’s why you get a new one every 3 years so you don’t have to worry about putting it through MOT and say if I’m in my parents car I can take the blue badge and put it in my parents car or anyone’s car that I am travelling in
