The best part of these videos is the sound. Thank you for not covering your machines over with any music or background. Your television program has been an inspiration for me since my childhood.

For sure I did a ton of tinkering like the hunkin, I wish I knew about his work sooner than Age 52

It's nice to know he didn't go crazy in his old age. He started out crazy. Haha. I wish I knew enough to create machines as he has

Oh if we could just rewind 50 years and give Tim access to 3d printers and modern micro controllers, just imagine what wonderful things we would have.
@lo2740
@lo2740 Год назад
mmh, no, im knows very well microcontrollers and 3D printing, bu he chosed o use mechanical contraptios and PLC because these devices are used all year long by the public and need to be very strong and reliable. All the contrary of what you can do with a 3D printer. And for simple automation micrcontrollers are not better than PLC, actually they are not as good because these systems usually work with 12V or 24V and decent amount of current for motors and actuators, leading to a lot of back EMF, which microconttroller will nto like unless the circuit is designed to handle it? Using a PlC is simpler because it is already rugged.

Not being maudlin,but I've never saw such an outpouring of respect and gratitude to anyone on RU-vid as I have to Tim Hunkin. I wonder if he has any idea how many people he helped to inspire?

Funny to see all these coin operated machines that our elders remember seeing in the fairgrounds during the 40s and 50s, I guess thats what This guy saw as a kid. It'd had been forgotten for long enough to make it look different to the 80s teenagers then more familiar with space invaders and pack man machines

if by "clear out" you mean these machines were broken up for scrap, you might consider offering them for sale in the future. you may have gotten more for them by selling them to collectors. I may have been interested in some of them.
