Ah, why do people even convert smh. UK's minimum monthly salary is approximately £1,400 which is GH¢24,300. The minimum monthly salary in Ghana is like GH¢400 which is £23. Many in the country dont even make up to £100 which is GH¢1,700 per month. So why convert and compare prices smh.
The issues about always trying to compare the dollars, pounds, and cedis doesn't make any sense! Thus, why people living abroad should not be happy if they're making money more than people in Ghana.
I dont think anyone is comparing dollar t cedi..the rates are used so ppl at home know and is able to relate and know..i dont know why yall think ppl abroad cant complain
@@williamsmaxy4937 so how would one know the difference of how expensive what we talking about..if im talking about to relativesa d friends about how our local foods are expensive and i tell them 2plaintains cost and equivalent of Ghc 17..so they now are able to relate to the cost..whats wrong with that? Just because one lives in abroad they cant complain?
That is very silly of them......y don't they convert the bottled water they drink daily to Ghana cedis also.....infact they must try to convert every thing they buy der to Ghana cedis
I love when Paradise said " we don't want to hear" hahaha. I love brode3 paa and I buy it 6 pieces for £4 and is very cheap k3k3. Come to Essex wai and is cheap here
I buy like 8 for 4.8 euros in Germany and I see it very cheap.. if you are making 15 euros per hour. What's 4.8 euros for just plantain.. Ghana fuor ni converting
I just bought 6 plantains for £2 (3 for a pound), somewhere in East London. It depends on where you shop. My workplace is not far from this area where you sometimes get 4 ripe plantains (hard not soft) for £1 at the Afro-Caribbean shops. It's sometimes 3 for £2 though, but this Asian owner told me he sells his own plantains cheap to break even so he doesn't end up with overripe plantains which will eventually go in the bin.
I’m also In the UK 🇬🇧 and to be honest food prices over here are generally low than Ghana (comparing minimum wages between GH & UK) and UK residents rarely complain about food costs. If someone complains about the price of indigenous Ghanaian foods in UK, such as plantain then they should consider returning to Ghana to get them at cheaper prices, enjoy less income and experience dumsor in multiple folds. lol
You don't just convert pounds that into cedis and call it a day. The Economy there is vastly different from Ghana. Earning money monthly will/can mostly be exhausted by paying rent, electricity, and other expenses. If you actually lived there you wouldn't be saying all this just because you think the currency value is higher than ours. Please take time to do your research before getting into conclusions like this
Okayy...if they receive their wages or salary too they should come and explain and post their bank accounts ,add the SYSTEM and ECONOMY as well. If they can't they should come home wai🇬🇭..Akwaaba
See £5 for 6 plantain is expensive when not long ago 3 pieces used to be £1 but converting it stupid to me but I’m not paying £5 for 6 pieces of plantain absolutely not inflation won’t kill me
If you should ask that same person complaining in UK about plantain price to come back to gh, I swear with my data, he won't come. They should keep quiet
Charlie it has been normalized in Europe o, not just UK. U can even buy 1 plantain for 2 euros so I don't know why he is saying we will not tell you. What should we tell them??
They will also tell you to stay in Ghana because things are hard. As for me all my family will join me here. At least for the sake of their children's future.
African food stuffs are really expensive to purchase here. It’s a bit better in UAE 🇦🇪 since we shear most of our food stuffs with the Indian’s. As for you PARADISE, MDK will soon push to UK and you would see. 😅
They putting it out that UK hard meanwhile when you're working, you're being paid well. Someone will complete university in Ghana, struggle to get a job and when he finally gets one, he'll be paid 1000gh for a month. Convert it to pounds and see if a university graduate in UK is being paid that amount. We all go lef some!!!
Just a little breakdown, UK untaxed monthly income is £1.2k (20.8k ghc) take out rent den things £700 - £900 + food shopping, depending on location and lifestyle. The job you'll do to get that amount per month, people will never get that much in Ghana or in most African countries. So I don't understand why they always compare. If Ghana currency is to be doing well, they won't even compare because the money will be less😂 I remember £1 being 5 cedis.
Haven’t I heard skanty convert peoples salaries to dollars here? Have literally heard this guy say “people get paid just about £30 in Ghana “ Why is he having issues with this then?
When you travel you will understand how it feels when you are african and you are suppose to be eating Mcdonalds ,Kfc ,Mac and cheese and more all bcos there is no African food, sometimes you will get but delivery alone is not easy
That means plantain expensive. If £6 gets me just 5-6 fingers, it is quite expensive. It is not shocking because plantain is not a food crop grown in the UK. It's basically a luxury good there. Just eat whatever the necessity is given and stop the unnecessary nostalgia
The minimum wage for Ghana I not up to 20gh for a day and one plantain in Ghana is 10gh and even is not a big plantain oo hmm those doing these comparison are fools
Most Ghanaians and Africans want to eat Ghana food everyday.. that's their problem and their money runs out quick... that will cost you.... to prepare ampesi for two will cost about 20£...rice and stew will cost you 10£ and will have some left... so imagine.. .He is complaining based on the following reasons 1. Aba fresh with conversion syndrome 2. Mr I won't change... want to eat Ghana food everyday... 3. Mr comfortable... OK with his job so earning same small money for years when prices have gone up so money doesn't go far... 4. Abusua they bore am.. He sends money and keeps getting pressure so want to tell them he's struggling to get his favourite Ghana dishes whiles the abusa is getting pounds to nani and enjoy.. We all like our Ghana food so either work to get extra cash to afford or start eating rice, spaghetti, potatoes and salad to supplement the occasional Ghana food...
Yes ohh they always like eating Ghanaian or Africa food and it is expensive as well and they do like eating the local food and when u tell to eat it they would rather give you flimsy excuse that the local food the is no nutritional value in so therefore they would not eat it and Ghanaians do not like to try new things which it is not good at all
Comparing it relatively to be equal Ghana’s is impossible But the convertion to cedis is understandable to some extent If im talking to my mom and want her to know how £6 pounds is in her understanding i cant used pounds.. Also the bra fie thing no dey make sense.. So because one lives abroad they cant complain? Yal hate sometimes These same ppl are those that will come and do the conversion and complains.. You scanty is the same person that went to mauritius for just few weeks🇲🇺 and was complaining how you miss Ghana food..🥘 The fact that ppl complain abroad doesn’t mean we are discouraging anyone not to come or that Abroad is bad
Obviously the person is new in the uk Plus it’s just for attention Ghana food are expensive in the uk because of importation FOOD IS NOT A PROBLEM IN THE UK
Y’all been sitting here everyday complaining how everything in Ghana is becoming expensive and bashing government every time. So what is wrong with us also complaining if cost of living in the uk is sky rocketing?
Makes no sense converting,. The cedi is weak and keeps depreciating, sadly one of the worst performing currencies at the moment. How do you do this conversion if the currency is depreciating daily? Tomorrow he will come back and say it’s worth 150 cedis 🙃🙃
@@symplyemy62 As adey Ghana here, I can give out GHS200 easily to a friend, relative or colleague though I don't earn much as they do in the UK. It's just "chiselness" and they always converting to cedis which makes it seem like they're sending you billions once they check what they can do with that amount if they were to be in Ghana.
KSS is now a huge platform, you lot should begin putting in some research when it comes to facts and figures(not opinions). Minimum wage in UK is 11.44 not 12.5. To be fair, the difference doesn't take much away from the conversation but the problem is, someone would say this somewhere else as facts because they saw it on KSS.
Wei KSS you should not have conversations about such things koraa It does not make sense So how much is plantain in Ghana They don’t have sense and they’re doing mhwehw3anim 😂😂😂
UK de3 mese 😂😂😂 some of them are stingy oo and wicked oo😂😂they want to convert everything to Ghana cedis. if you can't aa bra fie.. try to even ask someone for £5 and see their reaction .. Ghana suban noaa
😮 Faulty generalisation. Those in UK? Say some. It could be that this person is 'aba fresh'. When I first got here, hair braiders were charging £25 for ordinary braids where I used to live in South London. I thought I was never going to pay to have my hair done in the UK. Though I never converted when paying for goods and services, I was so shocked to see people paying and changing their hairstyles anyhow. Today, I pay more than twice that amount if I don't get my hair done myself without complaining like I used to do. However, I still know some Ghanaians who even though make more than I do, will not have a decent meal at a nice restaurant or take their kids out during school breaks because they're converting the money in terms of how many bags of cement they can buy out of that money. Each to their own. We're all not stingy as you asserted. When people back home randomly call me for freebies, I don't just give them. I only give out when it's important and convenient for me too. It doesn't mean we're stingy. We need to take care of ourselves too.
