Alcohol increases nitric oxide which can be beneficial for a number of health outcomes. I personally do well on it moderately for this reason. Excellent interview. Thank you.
I guess we all look for excuses to justify our drinking, there are far healthier ways of getting nitric oxide into your body without poisoning our liver & brain but i guess not as much fun lol
@@midlanderwbaboothy7068 yes! After many years of trying to do the “right” or healthy thing I realised that joy is really the only marker that matters over time. And it’s different for everyone!
I think if the research is from epidemiological studies, as I follow dr. Zoe Harcombe about food, you shouldn’t infer anything from these studies, otherwise that the results are inconclusive. There could be other factors at play. Perhaps the people who drink the glasses of wine a day have a higher socio economic status, eat healthier, better living conditions etc…
It's a very interesting video. I have been drinking water mixed pickled juice and fermented juice from saurkraut to go with my meat heavy meal. I guess now I would occassionally drink a glass of Pinot. Pickle juice tastes pretty good if you don't like wine.
What about drunk driving? Obviously some people do not drink responsibly. Hence lawmakers want to discourage drinking alcohol altogether. Also most people I know in UK now drink moderately at home in lieu of going to the pub and getting blotto every night.
Very informative and I suspect there's a general agenda to coerce people along the 'eat veg' and 'no alcohol' route. I know Glynis Barber is the interviewer but she tends to interrupt too much.
The reason is because most alcohol/wines come from EU or world. The idea is to lower our imports because of the tax and levy's charged. It would hurt the EU which is leverage for our govt.
Is the meta-analysis risk == all cause mortality? Maybe People who don't drink, (generally speaking) seek their 'thrills' in other aspects of life, i.e. more outgoing and adventurous, other drugs (sugar) and could affect mortality rates?
One glass for me too, Glynis! Mother in law is Scottish and 92, she loves her red wine and her whisky. She still pops to do her weekly shop, walks there and back! She just came back from Australia for a month. Red meat was mentioned in your video, another interesting subject. We have cut back but I can't help thinking there is a drive to stop us eating it? X
yes there appears to be. All the evidence would suggest that good quality meat is highly nutritious. In fact I have another video coming-out soon on this. @@pennymartin2341
Loved it, quit recently when bloods showed my Potassium was high, always said I'd quit if I got proof it was damaging my health, got to the Doctors "there's nothing wrong with your bloodwork" "but my potassium was high" "it goes up in the vial" so if I had it collected on a Saturday and it got to the lab the next week it'd be high?" "Yep". Needless to say I'm back on the turps. EDIT. Should add, 30g per day is the livers limit and I assume that's if you're avoiding Fructose that's been separated from its fibre.
