Hey wonderful ... did you notice that Tony Curtis was imitating Cary Grant with his voice (on the beach with the captain's hat) ??? He really was good at that AND the mannerisms. Great reaction !!!
I'm surprised you have never seen this wonderful classic before. But then that makes it all that much wonderful to see now. You did good Michelle, great enjoyable reactions.
Saw this as a young kid-- my brother was 5 years older than me, and always tried to educate me in 'the ways' (as he would call it). This included great films I 'needed' to see. He loved Marilyn, and passed that love of her film and music on to me. This is one of my favorites (along with Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), and The Misfits, her final film. Glad you enjoyed the film, and I loved you reaction to the finale. Enjoy the day.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR WATCHING THIS so much nostalgia.........never saw this in english (I'm from Germany) but I love this so much ...I LOVE AND ADORE MARILYN.......P.S. I LIKE YOUR REACTION SO MUCH .....YOU ARE SO FUNNY
Fun fact: in the script it wasn't "nobody's perfect." It was "I know". The homophobic studio heads wouldn't allow it. It was very ahead of its time I love this movie so, so much!!! And yes. Marilyn Monroe is underrated as a singer and actress. She was so beautiful, that that's what everyone focused on. Her acting is sublime. If you want to really see how good she is, I suggest "the misfits" with Clark Gable. And her singing voice has stellar technique. She deserved so much more than she got
Ooh! I was raised on classic films! Please do more! ❤️My faves.. To Kill A Mockingbird Rear Window Gaslight Witness For The Prosecution 12 Angry Men Singing In The Rain My Fair Lady
I love this movie so much. The last line is just the cherry on top. The shooting in chicago is based on a real event - the st valentines day massacre You could try Little shop of horrors (theatrical ending) for October as a comic horror musical
I've been watching this movie for years but it was only roughly a year ago that I realised how sad Sugar Cane's "I've got this thing about saxophone players" speech really is.
Jack Lemmon is one of my favorite actors - and the "tickling scene" on the train is one of my favorite scenes! Not a lot of actors can do both comedy and drama so well. Interestingly, one contemporary actor that I can think of that does both comedy and drama is Tom Hanks - and early in his career Hanks also had a role where he dressed as a woman: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3UI_JwF3cnA.html
George Raft's (the Chicago mobster) trademark in early roles was the habit of tossing a coin. Hence the joke of him berating a young gangster for "copying".
I think we were expecting to hear your reaction to seeing Marilyn Montievforvthe first time since you mentioned in your intro you had never seen one of her films.
