Over 20% of the Hindu population in Bangladesh has declined rapidly in 70 years, the main reasons being the horrific abuses against Hindus such as massacres, rapes, Forcible occupation of Hindu land ,looting, forced conversions and many Hindus who were helpless and forced to flee their ancestral lands. Before independence, the Hindu population of Bangladesh was 28 percent and now it has come down to less than 8 percent. And the new addition is persecution of Hindus on charges of blasphemy. My request to Deutsche Welle is to raise the issue of persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh in the international arena
@@RaechelleJ There is no freedom of the media after the new government. The media is not publishing the correct news. Bangladeshi media never publish news of Hindu torture.
Many are downplaying the attack on minorities as political, not communal. This is a logical fallacy, and people are leaning on it because it presents a more comfortable truth. Let me explain why: 1. During the BAL era, when kidnappings and murders were happening, they wanted to frame these incidents as political, not as acts against citizens. This narrative was used to argue that human rights were not being violated in a general sense. 2. When George Floyd was brutally murdered, the ultra-right wing insisted it was simply a case of 'police brutality,' not racism. This is another example of downplaying the real issue. 3. Hindus in our society are generally very suppressed. In rural and outside city areas, they often have to align with a political side to survive in their local businesses because they face disproportionately more discrimination and challenges. So, even when there is political affiliation, it is inherently tied to religious identity. Even on political grounds, Hindus are the easiest target, which is both racist and communal because religion is the inherent driver here. I understand your point, but it is very difficult to separate the religious aspect, even if it appears political on a superficial level. 4. Finally, temples didn’t engage in politics. Why were they vandalized?
How was the burning of Iskon temple political? Sheikh Hasina was PM due to 8% voters only? DW needs to visit temple premises and report. Stop being ignorant or pretend to be ignorant. 😔
Where r u from.? I bet u are from india amd nothing know about Bangladesh. Hasina is prime minister with less than 8℅ vote. I am 25 and never able to vote in my life. Everyone saying temple are broken but nobody can't give a location. Give me the location where temple are broken. Exact location. I will verify them. If u do not then stop spreading false information. U don't know nothing about us. If u want proof about how hindus use Awami league politics to beat people mail me. I will give u profe with video.
@parmykumar8592 they should have faced the conditions that our west side neighbor are facin, then they would have understand what contributions we had.
The minority population of Bangladesh didn't drop below 10% recently. It happened during the '71 war. The Hindus in Bangladesh are safer and economically better off than the Dalits and Shudras in India.
What was the population of hindus in bangladesh during its independence and what is it now? That should answer the question. DW should do some research before posting these videos.
Yeah hindus love migrating to india thats why their percentage drops. Their actual number actullay increased from 1 crore to 1.5 crore in past 50 years. But percentage of total population dropped
You should do a research on how many Hindus left Bangladesh to live in India. A neighbour of mine was a doctor, left for India as they think it will provide them more comfortable accommodation as it is Hindu majority and they are a minority here.
Now I can ask the question of how many bangali were before the independence and how many were there after independence. 3 million people died during the liberation war, so it's natural for population to decrease of all religion. I won't deny there were targeted killing of Hindus during the war by Pakistani regime. Also did you know recently India released water form their dam to Bangladesh unannounced, do you know how many Hindus are suffering because of that.
Both Awamileague and BNP exploited the Hindus of Bangladesh for their own benefit. However, the previous Hasina regime always gave hope to the Hindu community but never provided the promised justice and security. A big thank you to Noami Hossain for sharing the news of the severe flood that Bangladesh is facing. We need immediate global assistance.
Without any previous warning India open their river dams to intensionally flooded Bangladesh. Firstly India illegal created dams in International rivers to deprive Bangladesh their part of International rivers water. They open the dams gate intentionally to make Bangladesh flooded without any previous warning every time. @@maheenafshar4053
Thanks DW news for taking up this. Hindu population in Bangladesh has gone down from around 30% (1947) to less than 10% (2022). Speaks a lot about the country...
You're grasping. Those numbers are without context and without context one can claim anything they want about them, as you and those who share your views have done.
The population has been decreasing because hindus migrated to India for a better life. India has always been a pull for Hindus because of religious reasons. The economy of India has also been stronger than that of Bangladesh until recently. It is not as simple as you are thinking. Of course it is a loss for Bangladesh , missing out on the contribution of hindus in our country.
In 1971 there was 22% hindus in Bangladesh..now it has become only 7%.. Minorities are not safe when this peaceful community are majority.. example: Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan,Iran,Iraq ..there is only peace and peace😂.. Peaceful community are denying this all incidents like the way they deny what h@m@s did to Isr@el on 7th October.. Thank you DW making this documentary ❤❤❤❤
That’s true for many cases, but not all cases. A lot of Hindu temples were attacked for no reason. We need to help our minorities. They helped us when we were fighting against Sheikh Hasina.
I was four years old, a class mate called me "Malaun". I did not have any clue what that word meant. Later in my life I came to know, "Malaun" means "The cursed ones"! Well my ancestors created one of the earliest civilizations in the history of minkind, "The Indus Valley Civilization" if we are "the cursed ones", then the whole subcontinent must be cursed. Countless time I have heard, "Mate, try beef, it is so tasty"! Or, "Go to India, that is your country!". For sure India is my country, so is Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Srilanka. These are my ancestors land, and you can change religion, nationality or whatsoever, but you can not change the blood, or the genetics, and mine is Indic. I am Hindu, a Bengali, and Bangladeshi.
Nope dude india invested a lot on bangaldesh, and still giving free electricity to bangaldesh and many more. And still giving it to bangaldesh its for people not for any government
The reason for attack minority is political not religious. When they were in government party they attacked opposition party brutally that's why they got attacked. But These cases are very few. Most of the minority are living like a Bangladeshi ❤️
Indian political government have been spreading rumor but in Bangladesh there isn’t single temple was broken. India want to make an issue sothat they can create a bad image about Bangladesh interim government. It is clear that India political party want to get an opportunities and spread false information.
So why the population of minorities fall from 24% to 8%? The new interim pm accepted the attacks on Hindus. Jamat e islami is a terr@rist organization.
@@epicoddgamer2900 As per independent sources, there were 252 recorded crimes of vandalism, arson, targeted attacks, murder and rapes. Is that sufficient??
Awami League supporters are doing those things to blame the students movements. Awami League government supporters did it before and blamed put on Jamat-e-islam, it's Awami League government political to show the world that they good.
Common Madam, what a cop out? Suggesting that the Hindus may have been attacked because they were Awami League supporters! Please!. None of the houses of the Awami League affiliated Mosques and people was subjected to this. hate crime. When will DW learn to report just the news without adding bells and whistles? Please reshape your thinking and reporting!!
hello. I am Bangladeshi Hindu, and I'm extremely disappointed in the way you have reported about these attacks. BNP, Islami Chhatra Shibir, Jamat e Islami, Basherkella and Islami Andolan Bangladesh have private Telegram channels and Facebook groups where they are giving instructions how to rape and kill Hindus. How on earth are you claiming that this is good reportage? Those private groups also have instructions how to for their PR's sake tell the press that they condemn attacks.
Every hindu is safe in Bangladesh, we are protecting our hindu brothers and sisters. Don't worry anyone, we promise you, nothing will happen to hindus, don't trust india
U fight for to establish democracy...by removing Hasina... if u doing the same thing... If u are not accepting people right to vote or to choosing parties... then wht is the difference between u and hasina... and what is the need of democracy?
@@Nagendravenigalla In many cases, the issue is that those Hindus are oppressing the common people because of the previous government in power. The minority is lagging because of the political defeat and many Ayami League activists are doing this purposefully.
Save Bangladesh Hindus. The authority are baised and they don't tell the truth. Please come Bangladesh to observe the harsh reality of Bengali Hindus in Bangladesh
They were attacked because they had directly and indirectly supported the Awami League government during the massacre. It is very interesting that while attacking the students, they used the identity of Awami League. But when they come under counter-attack, they identify themselves as a minority.
Hindus themselves protested against Hasina Dictatorship. Many hindus like Riya Gop, Dipta Dey died in the protest. But Hindus faced attack in just after Hasina's fall
kuynki hasina ne unko piche lagaya hai yaar app dekj sakte ho jara news dekho call Record bhi hai hasina aise kiya yeh dikhane ke liye ki woh hindus ko safety deti thi hum nahi de sakte aur hindu khud hi khudke mandir tod raha hai hum logo ko pehredar banake khud hi sab tod fod kar raha hai... @@gauravsinha023
you guys can lie so shamelessly. Did you expect us to support Jamaat e Islami then?? Many Bangladeshi Hindus supported those student protests yet this was the thank you, you guys gave us.
The western press are very keen to dismiss Hindu insecurity but very mindful of mosques in the UK for example. The two tier approach has long been evident.
Hindu people or organisations are collecting funds for flood - affected people, posting on social media against the excesses of India. Many Hindus also took part in street protests against which is going on in different parts of the country against India's excesses. Why can't you notice such things? Why some people like you are pushing this narrative that BD Hindus are unpatriotic? Is it a pretext for further violence against Hindu community?
More than 300 people died after Sheikh Hasina fled. How many hindus died? Have you reported it ? The true is not single person. Durning Hasina regime Hindus were involved in Awami League political party. And they took so much benefit. Now vandalising in certain Hindus home is the consequences of their wrongdoings.
Why don’t you invite hindu leader Gobindra Chandra Pramanik? Because he speak truth. I know that. All what happened is only political reason. What Awami League and hindu leaders did when they were in power, as comparison to that opposite party did nothing. But it’s sad to see that India who is introduce as good neighbour of Bangladesh. They're spreading false news and video on internet about current situation of hindus in Bangladesh.
Im from Bangladesh 🇧🇩. The current flood situation is getting worse in every minute. Two to three districts have been flooded overnight. Please keep an eye on Bangladesh. Pray for us
It is the political issue not a minority issues. Most of the victim of the minority were active politician of Bangladesh Awamilig and they have tortured last 15 years with align rulling party.
In banga, there is a moral lesson অতি কোনও জিনিসই ভালো না। Now Hindu minorities are preaching theirs karma for trusting , forgiving and forgetting the attack and mass killing in 1947...feel like we will be the next target...Thanks to our overforgiving ancestors and their teaching...
A large percentage of Bangladeshis still support the Aswani League and Sheikh Hasina. If there was an election between Naomi Hossain and Aswani Leage in Bangladesh, the Aswani League would beat her in the polls. Not denying that Yunis would probably beat Aswani League in the polls right now.
Defend the Hindus, in the long run minorities are your best allies in establishing and defending your democracy. Without them your bigger neighbors will exploit your weakness. Bangladesh has a proud history as a secular state which will defend all its citizens. The students are the promise of a brighter future.
Bangladesh already proved that even in unrest situation when everyone is in threat the majority is in better condition than any other countries. We were mostly able to protect them from political revenge few incidents were out of hand but it is more simple than India and England. They are far behind us about minority issues as they showed in past few days . Even English people called them civilised but we showed subcontinent especially Bangladesh people are more humanitarian.
The minority attack is a political one not religious at all. The main reason behind this attack is the elite Hindu community, who are the real beneficiaries of Hasina’s party in the last 15 years. Non-elite classes of Hindu communities have no issue with the general public, regardless of their religious values. I appreciate how Prof Dr. Naomi Hussein explains the real picture.
Lol. I like the spin this article puts on things. Instead of saying Hindus are being attacked, they are saying Hindus are being protected by "some against attacks."
@@md.robiulkarimmd.robiulkar706India is most powerful part of Indian subcontinent even your electricity and water come from India. How you going to be free from Indian impact.
Locals are real hero. We pray for people who live Bangladesh to protect not only Hindus but also each other. I think, that's what true human nature for...
This is greenwashing. Instead of saying 'some locals step up to protect Hindus...' headline should be 'Hindus are attacked all over Bangladesh...' Anyways, as goodhearted as these local protectors might be, they are irrelevant. Bangladeshi Hindu fate is sealed.
And why "should" it be that way? Because you want it to be? You do realize that the world doesn't work that way, right? News Outlets aren't obligated to get your approval before releasing a story.
The decline in numbers of minorities since the creation of Bangladesh till now is sufficient to explain the plight of minorities. But it's ok, DW has to push it's apologist agenda for radical Islam ! 😢🎉
Minority community are now facing problem with their job. It is easy to break mental strength, if you can shut anyone earning or living source. Hindu community are very much worried about their job, who are not even engaged with any political stand.
My cousin's house was attacked on August 6 by BNP-Jamaat in Noakhali, Bangladesh. They looted her house and demanded 500,000 Taka. They told her to leave the country because she is a Hindu woman. Police are not taking compliant and told her that she was lying. Also the army is not helping them. My cousin and her family are very afraid for their lives. As a woman, she cannot go outside. The interim government is doing nothing to protect the minorities. They are just giving us empty promises. There are strong anti Hindu sentiment in the country right now.
Bangladeshi Hindus, living in Bangladesh , do not open mouths [ in most cases ] against the torture or atrocities made against them. There are lots of reasons behind it.-AS ROY, ENGLAND .
