I feel like having bluntness and being immature can work amazingly together. Like having a character whose so immature that they don’t realize that they’re being blunt. As well as the other way around being true, they know they’re being blunt, but acts so childish with it that people don’t care, or don’t mind it. I personally have a character like that who is very childish and very blunt, and they’re quite fun to use.
omg i have these two characters… mother-son/young kid dynamic, and one is super mature (and traumatised) and the other just says the bluntest things just out of nowhere 😭
One of mine too but she’s a demi-goddess and those dolls represent everyone she created on her earth, they all have free will (or at least, as much “free will” that you can give to fictional characters) but she can control their bodies and minds if she so pleases
One of mine is also kinda like that, except he is just a bodyless soul possesing a corpse, his name is "the beholder" you could say he is his own puppet, he preaches insanity, oh yea, he is also a cultist, his personality is fun so sometimes i roleplay as him.
I think it’s good to have these in a character as long as their like this for a reason, they could also go through character development and other things so it’s good to have a lot of these types of characters
@@systematicirony666 true, ig maybe in some cases their like that to show maybe you’re main characters or Oc a lesson. But if their just there to add spice I suppose.
I have a dnd character that has several of these traits (dm said "make a character you wont be mad about dying first fight" and i took that as "i will make a little shit for the sole purpose of dying") and unfortunately everyone including the dm became VERY attached to the Little Asshole I Made To Die ASAP and started going out of thier ways to make sure they didnt die bc it was a glowing doll construct that was looking for its creator and was an absolute menace but also VERY sheltered and naive that did funny ridiculous shit bc it grew up only ever meeting elves and 1 Super Cursed Human and went off into a world that Did Not Like Elves and was VERY out of its element
Being “too blunt” can be used for funny moments too, example, say said character is in an argument and the other brings up a valid point? Oh the humanity…
i mean deltarune and undertale overlap, like sure it's undertale but only the undertale fans who are also deltarune fans, others would have no clue what this song is
@@PurpleStarCosmoscontrols Berdly, selfish and inconsiderate of Noelle’s feelings, so pretentious she think’s she’s helping Noelle, doesn’t hesitate to say the most out of pocket and random things, addicted to battery Acid.
For my OC, they are the balance of light and dark because they aren't fully human! And so the understand why humans murder and steal but don't feel any intense feelings from it like humans do. Also, they rained a global meteor shower on a habitable planet with life and creatures similar to humans and watched as every creature died while floating infront of the planet sitting on a chair with a circular table with a white flowerpot with a single purple flower inside that was somehow adapted to live in space, the reason they caused he meteor shower was for the sake of art, to watch as every life form in that planet that lived with co existence and in a nutshell a dystopia and their families come together as they died slowly to the meteors and lost everything but together, my OC is more than godlike and cannot be comprehended at once or your brain would get scrambled, she has a strange power to travel extra-universal, and universal, and because of that she can literally travel anywhere and do anything, she can travel to a place where humans are the cows, and cows are the humans slaughtering the cows.
@@breadboi_222 aww ty :) i wrote it with some spelling errors i tried my best so its nice to hear someone finds my odd, surreal oc's lore cool to read!
Interesting! I currently made my OC, no lore to it though, he's just a phycotice ten year old child, he weilds a knife, he's a murderer who has NO empathy for others, he also commits arson, ect, he's just a menace and for some reason I just love that about him- I like making OC's, definitely gonna do it again, oh yeah, and he has a fifteen year old brother who is very against all his violence and tries everything he can to stop it, but the little gremlin is just too addicted to violence lol
One writing tip a friend gave me was don't think of writing flaws and good qualities, give your characters traits that can be good or bad depending on circumstances.
In an old comic of mine, one of the main characters was originally planned to be a pathological liar. I can't remember why I didn't end up using that concept, but anyways it's one of those character traits that can branch off into other traits, so idk maybe use it as a foundation to build off of for your character.
Every time I see one of these videos, I get reminded of my self insert OC. These videos always have at least ONE thing he has in his design or personality. Also swag art style, i aspire to have smth close. it's super cool
An angel character I have named Ezekiel has a lot of theses. He’s blunt, usually inconsiderate, controlling and manipulative and some others I’m still working on. He’s honestly my favorite, he totally would give nice hugs.
Yeah I’ve got a character that I’ve given the trait of being a literal magnet for bad luck while still being innocent so those last two would fit her pretty well
You know what this actually is kinda useful, I've got a story in mind but pretty much all my characters have the same traits of Arrogance with others like Ego or Impulsivity
I remembered I’ve wrote a story where every characters including the protagonist have an obnoxious personality and negative traits to show how self-centred humans are
I like to think bluntness isn’t negative, it just means they’re honest. They don’t want the person’s feelings to be hurt by someone else saying “yeah, that doesn’t look good on you” or something because it’ll put pressure on the one who said it looked nice.
Eh, there's a line. As someone who is known by others to be blunt, I've gotten into a lot of unnecessary arguments with people due to remarks I've made, even thought said remarks were truthful. People don't always want complete honesty.
im extremely fond of the controlling option, even if they arent malicious or selfish, controlling can be worse in a lot of ways i also love how its drawn! makes me think of shadow from the four swords manga
I don't need to give my characters bad traits, I simply just need to infect and fester an emotional wound through the angst blender like irl abuse+trauma.
Sally is absolutely blunt about everything, like, if she sees you wearing a bad outfit, she’ll call you out on it. Sally: “A dress with jeans, Sarah? What are you, a scarecrow?”
I look at this then look over to my OC’s that are in an apocalyptic universe, and notice that the ship in the group that’s starts wholesome and becomes toxic. The main issue has all these traits (except immature) and Hanna my baby child is just trying her best
i have an Oc that i love so much, but im having a hard time thinking of any ideas with them cause they cant have any friends or people to talk to cause they want to murder everyone and only have mercy for animals- and they arent in any show or anything they're independent so there's no other characters i can think of stuff to do-
Idk. Having a immature character can really help with the story. Like an immature aunt who is the fun aunt. Also, immaturity can be shown in different ways. I have one immature character who acts like a bratty child, but has a big heart. The other one acts "immature" by being shy and quiet, like a child.
To be honest, I don't think that being selfish is a bad thing, since being selfish means that you're focused on yourself, which is much more useful than worrying about others, and that's a prerequisite for success, I'm probably selfish too So there's no problem if you don't like what I wrote, my biggest flaw and quality is being indifferent, so I don't really care🫤
One of my characters, meow-mix, is pretty immature (she’s seventeen, but still) but it’s more of a playfully childish sort of way? But (don’t tell my friends, I haven’t told them this yet lol) it’s more of a defense mechanism because her family isn’t the most caring! Another character, Avery (he’s actually one of the main characters but whatever), is melodramatic because I think it just fits his style more? I mean, what else would you expect from a fashion design major, English minor, and slightly famous gay dude?
