Had an eagle rare pick that I first cracked when I got my Nursing License. I had struggled with my Boards, and was really wanting to crack it, but made the plan to only open it once I passed. 6-8 months after setting that bottle aside, I finally passed it and cracked the bottle my first night off work following getting my license

Nice content! I started a year ago at the age of 62! I don’t wait for special occasions, when I get something new I usually try it that night! Never know when your times up so if you got it, drink it:) Cheers

Mine isn’t a particular bottle, but a brand. I lost my dad almost two years ago and he loved JD No.7. After his passing I bought a bottle of JD and on his birthday, Father’s Day, day he passed, or just when I think of him, I’ll pour a glass and toast him. Never got to do it while he was living as he had stopped drinking by the time I began my journey, but it will always be something I do to remember him. Thanks for putting out the great content and love the channel.

The main one for me was Jack Daniels Coy Hill. I just graduated this past December from college and I had tried Coy hill before and knew it was one of my favorite pours but my brother and I were able to get a bottle(144.5pf) and crack and split it for graduation. Definitely a bottle I’ll be nursing after taking it down about halfway but it’s a great bottle and a great accomplishment for me and my brother

During the pandemic, I was able to get my first and only bottle of GTS. I told myself I wanted to wait until a special occasion to open it, so I figured when I got married last year there wouldn't be a better opportunity.

Can yall start calling out the name of the bourbon more in your videos. Sometimes I listen while working and when I heard “this” when referring to a bottle review I don’t know what bottle yall are talking about lol

I’ve got a Woodford Reserve Barrel entry proof that I Finally opened after asking my future father in-law for his daughter’s hand in marriage. We smashed about 3 quarters of that bottle that night & I won’t touch it again until the wedding.

Only special bottles I'm holding onto are the birthday bottles for my kids. Otherwise I like to drink and share with friends because that feels like the whole experience. Life's too short to hang onto bottles and not share experiences with the ones we love. All that out the way, Eagle rare was the first bourbon I'd ever had and it was a gift. Makers 46 cask strength is one of my favorites for the flavor but also reminds me of my first tour of makers when it was still a white label experiment bottle. They were still constructing the cellar.

Great video. Isn't that what it's all about sharing good times and whiskey with friends and family and making memories. My wife dabbles in bourbon and I enjoy sharing new things with her and traveling to distilleries with her. Great memories! Cheers

Great show I’m going to get some special bottles for my grandson and save them till he’s old enough to enjoy them. I’m certainly not going to be around for him to drink with him but my son and son in law will show him the ropes. He’s only 16 months old and I’m 64 with a shoty health history. But I’ll get him some great bottles. Enjoy!!

When he is old enough to drink it, he will definitely appreciate the communion between generations you are engineering. Maybe this will become a family tradition? Maybe the whole comment section here will steal your tradition? 😂😂😂 Cheers!

I have two: I had started getting into trying bourbons other than Maker's Mark in 2018 and my wife and I were on a trip to Austin. When we were there we went and visited the Dripping Spring's Distillery where they make Treaty Oak bourbon. They were newer on the scene at the time and I think only had one or two products in stores. We did a tour and tried something called Ghost Hill Bourbon. It was ok; but since I was getting into trying new stuff I decided to buy a bottle off their bar. Apparently they had put it out for the first time that day and it was released as "Ghost Hill Experimental Bourbon. I got bottle #1 of 100. Well they ended up turning it into one of their flagship products and it's sold all over the country now. Again, I wasn't blown away, but it was a cool experience I had with my wife, maybe only the second distillery tour I've ever done and now I own a very unique bottle; whenever I see Ghost Hill in stores it makes me think of my wife when we were a bit younger. The second bottle is a M10 that again I got while on a trip with my wife. I had never owned an M10 before and at this time, for whatever reason, it was the bottle I was looking for the most. The Michters's distillery hooked me up, we were just drinking in the bar upstairs and I told a bartender my story about it. He told me to come back in the morning and they had it waiting for me behind the counter (They won't do this anymore as this was before people lined up to get in before it opens so don't bother trying it lol). Later than trip my wife and I decided we wanted to have children and grow our family. It's one of my most cherished possessions, I'll probably never open it and give it to one of my kids when they are older. Great video. I hope to see more of these. And bring the banjos back from time to time!

I've got two that mean a ton to me - An EH Taylor BP Batch 5 and a Nashville Barrel Company Store Pick Sample. The EHTBP B5 was found well under secondary at a store in Manhattan of all places. Everything there is priced at museum levels but when I asked this one was was very reasonably priced and picked it up. I thought it was a Batch 11 or 12 and it wasn't until I got home that i realized it was from 2016. Just makes me wonder how long the bottle had been sitting there and how many times I unknowingly passed that store with friends, family, and loved ones. The NBC Pick was actually a 200ml of a runner up barrel for Cox's Evergreen that Tom was gracious enough to let my dad and I try on our first trip to Louisville. Its really just standard MGP but the nose on it reminds me of the first girl i ever had a crush on. And when I told that to Tom he handed it to me and told me to keep it! Just a little encapsulation of good times and memories that I got to share with my dad at Evergreen.

Maker’s 46 is always in my collection as it’s the one that got me into bourbon. I just picked up the 2024 Woodford Batch Proof I am saving to crack open to celebrate my son graduating high school

i've definitely had some great memories with friends and family with bourbon, but I think my main take away from this video is to continue cracking good bottles (and not get [too] stingy 😂) when I'm with my bros and good friends. Cuz reflecting back, it's def the memories shared with them that really has meaning, not the acquiring of trophy bottles that get locked in the cabinet.

On my 1st trip to the KY Bourbon Trail, my wife and I bought the Batch 1 release of the 15yr Rare Perfection to drink on our 15yr wedding anniversary. We only drink it on our anniversary, and as we approach our 20th, we bottled our own at St. Augustine Distillery that we'll open on that day next year. I have a few others, but those two are the most special.

For me, for Father's Day several years back, my wife gifted me a Glenlivet 25yr Single Malt in a beautiful wooden box. I still haven't opened it. Then I was able to get a Michters 10yr Rye recently in December 2023 when we visited the distillery for our 10yr anniversary. 10yr limited bottle for 10yr anniversary was my goal for our first KY trip. I'm hoping to find WT Father and Son for my late father and I. That would be awesome.
