A compilation of some of Drew's rarest finds from over the years, including a pair of fantastic Gothic chairs, and a goblet which is thought to be from Roman times.
I love watching salvage hunters,My late Dad was an antique dealer/furniture restorer,My late Dad was so much like Drew, when he was bidding on something in the auction,he would just look over @ the auctioneer & raise his eyebrows! That was many years ago.Like Drew says his job is great, you never know what your likely to find.Looking forward to the new series coming soon...
DREW Your honesty and loving your BUSINESS appreciate you. I watch you day and night. I admire this HISTORICAL information and the greenness of your COUNTRY. I wish you continued success with health. Greetings from turkey
All the comments criticising him for making a profit. I count at least 6 staff he has (and a dog), hes on the road constantly burning fuel and running up costs. Why is it that a dealer making a profit is seen as robbing but we happily trot down to Tesco every day and never question the £2.9 Billion profit they made last year. Its a commercial enterprise, the foundation of how western economies functions.
That’s the difference between Mike Wolfe of American Pickers and Drew. If Wolfe knows a piece is rare and worth a lot, he’ll let the owner know it and he’ll pay up. He even goes so far as to pay far more than what the owner is asking. Drew on the other will fleece anyone as long as his margins are high.
Not even. You should watch early seasons of American pickers, they fleeces people. Besides the prices are agreed upon prior to being taped. Every bit you see is added drama
Congrats on the channel 😁 visited the shop in Conwy in April and have a little ex-department store display box. Can't wait to see some cool exclusive content in the future. Loving your work.
I sure hope that guy meant hundreds of thousands because I can’t imagine a piece of pottery from 600BC would only be worth a few hundred £’s. As for the chair Drew ripped that guy off. If you included the restoration costs he still was looking at £2500 profit. Sometimes I think they really undercut people very badly but who knows it’s tv lol
Chris Dooley a real job for you! Try it!! Only bad comments! Sitting doing nothing behind you pc!! Need to see the whole picture!! People with ideas and commercial talents should be a Appreciated instead of being criticized!!
These Pugin chairs are magnificent. Pugin was so innovative and groundbreaking. Bugatti and Rohlfs were clearly influenced by Pugin. The Sussex chair is fascinating. It seems so delicate with it's ultra-slender turnings. It looks ready to float away.....like a dandelion
Them Pugin chairs, wow. He paid a decent price, considering the damage. He never forces people into a deal, any deal is an agreement between 2 vendors.Part of his value is his knowledge, the restoration team, and the market he places the items in,as well as researching the provenance of the pieces. All of that is value in itself.
The last item vase from the tuscans in 600bc the valuer when asked says its worth hundreds then it cuts off let me finish of what he originally said, "its worth hundreds of thousands" what a buy Drew
When I find a piece which is exceptional, I call it one of my orphans. Either you are passionate about furniture, or you just see it as utilitarian. Luckily, for a few of us we consider each find a Masterpiece!
Drew is a rip off merchant, but that's what's given him a net worth of 8 million. It's a business at the end of the day. They're getting money from him and they've agreed. That's it 🤷🏻♂️
To be at a Church and hear him say no to $1,200 on chairs worth $5,000 is disgusting. One of the nicest pairs ever bought, and pairs make the value go up, and he tells him the awful condition. It's offensive. So humble a price at $1,200 when the original offer was the lowball $1,000 and the Church asks only a little more, and refusing that just is cringeworthy.
There is no way the public will ever find out what he actually got for the church chairs. About as much chance of that as him sending a extra check to the church to reflect what he got for it !
Yes disgusting don't like him never trust a bloke with beady eyes he's trying to hide them eyes now with big glasses there was an episode when he went to a country house and the owner had loads of circus mirrors you could see the greed in his face 800 \1000 \1200 each the owner turned around and said not for sale as he lets them out for charity events you should have seen his beady little face
@@alfienelson6345 Hi, interesting. I do admire Drew for his employing so many people and teaching the public so much about the job. I do cringeworthy things in the world also and do appreciate being told so I'm aware of what others think without them being my judge and jury. That way I learn how other people see it also. Some of the sales advice from Drew has been priceless. Especially since here in the US people tend to keep all their Sellers and Suppliers a big secret and it can be very competitive for us in sales. Drew is certainly a better salesman and employer than I am. I just thought the $200 more for the chairs was a humble ask by the Church. I do odd things slso in life and working in sales though. Sometimes I am in very bad need for cash. Kudos to Drew overall for his hard work and I have no way of knowing if some pressure was on him that week to fulfill Payroll or help an employee with a medical need. I'm also very careful about picking on the way I think someone looks because to a certain point that is out of our control. We are blessed with what we receive and make the most of it in the looks department IMHO. Smiles!
@@daringmore6892 Consider this he is on TV getting paid thousands just to be there alone plus all the publicity it will bring that money cant buy (30 second TV adverts would cost tens of thousands.) He is no doubt a canny businessman but has a real lack of foresight here. I have seen dealers ask Drew £15.00 for 18th century chairs, thats fair enough between dealers but why he blatantly makes margins of over 100% on Churches, Schools and the General Public is not naive its greed.
😂 I have to say I found that bit quite amusing! I did a mashup of salvage hunters which I think you might enjoy: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a8hdP75pzrI.html It is a work in progress... Drew's unhealthy obsession for chairs is definitely going into my mashup or another one! 😁
@@hansmemling7605 they do a lot of drinking, he had an affair with a woman from the local pub, they got found out, there was a scuffle between Drew and the other woman's husband at the local pub, now they are on pub watch and Drew and his wife have split up
I recommend him publicly apologizing and sending an additional cheque in to the churchman. It is ok to make a profit and necessary because he has rent to pay and employs several people but this was too much. If he had offered 50% more he still would have doubled his money...
I can't believe how little these things fetch. A lot of my records are worth more than these items, and I don't really consider myself to be much of a collector. It doesn't make sense. Oh yeah, and this guy is a classic dealer/crook.
the last one ..... "in the hundreds "......FIND ANOTHER MATE ! .... pre roman !.... "museum piece".... .... $50,000+ if the chinese pay 51 million for a younger vase ....
I love this programme but Drew winds me up, he could of paid the £1200 and still made a fortune after restoration but he goes on likes he’s doing them a favour adding a 50 on
Drew is a creep. He finds something fabulous, and immediately starts in with the "badly damaged" ploy. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him
There's no way I can believe the insane high prices he pays for some "antiques" on Salvage Hunters show. The show became Unreal and boring for me cause of those beyond belief "bargain" Prices . Viewer From 🇸🇦
What's so special about a church? Nothing. Believe in garbage and nonsense if you want, but don't expect special privileges for being a credulous desperate fool who is terrified of death.
Fucking horseshit, I mean. Why would anyone bother. I thought it was going to be oh a hundred thousand pounds here, three hundred and fifty thousand there, and these beauties are going to get me at least two and a half mil, but I'm being Conservative. They are likely to go for significantly more in todays market.
