Visually, this episode is pretty dark, so if you are having difficulty seeing things comfortably, I definitely recommend watching the unfiltered version on Ezret.TV. Also, I’ve noticed the uptick in traffic over on the site and I’d like to take this time to thank everyone who has actively visited and for trying it out. I’m relieved to know that it’s working as intended.
The cool thing is that this arc was kinda foreshadowed in the Mother arc, or at least why it's occurring as during the mother arc when the gang is gathered around the puppies they are discussing Jirocho's feelings for Otose :) There's also the fact that when Kada was introduced in the gambling episode she was doing some shady crud that tied into this as well. We also had the 3 devas mentioned a few times but never quit as touched on as in this arc. One of the things I enjoyed about Gintoki's rage is that he lost. I know that sounds silly, because you really, really want him to win in that moment, but Gintoki often fights using his head, he's lazy but extremely smart, especially on the battlefield, and when he snaps and isn't thinking clearly it takes away that prowess he had. I always felt his sword broke here because he was going against his bushido as well, which is to only swing his sword to protect what he feels is right. Here he is striking out in rage and with vengeance, with the assumption Otose is dead he's fighting to protect himself and his own feelings. Had Gintoki been level headed here I have no doubt he would have won.
excited for the next two! the comedy eps really pays off well in this arc. and also that flashback between Gin and Otose was first shown way back in Episode 12. Crazy how they brought it back...really love the Otose family and the others. I feel like the author really utilizes them all well here
Yeah, even the back then, many foreshadowing to hint Gin's past, that was very crazy for Gorilla. Especially in this arc And yeah, next eps you would feel like a movie pal, can't wait for it
At first watching four Devas Arc, I really can't appreciate Pirako but at the 2nd time watching I cried for her 😭. She's just a little girl longing for his Dad 😢. Still watching this show with I'm still crying 😭😭😭😭
