Greg Koch has got to be the one of the few dudes who can play something that's both really fun and absolutely terrifying to listen to at the same time.
@@adriankovacs4133 that's just simply untrue... no wankary going on with buckethead he is amazingly versatile and skilled, he literally has more songs then you can count covering very many genres.
@@claudiocruzat8777 Yes interesting topic. I personally love when players are able not, only to produce notes in a rapid succession, (that is sometimes great too), but rather to come up with musical ideas at great speed. It kind of overwhelms my mind I find it an addictive sensation.
Greg is the only guy I know that can make the guitar sound humorous, like he plays some licks that straight up make me laugh cause they sound so wacky but in a good way lol
I can only imagine what would happen if I am the one siting there with that sick guitar, struggling to remember connecting arpeggio I to arpeggio V, all the faces watching me would be more interesting to watch...
i would probably stand up from that chair and said "Ohh i forget to bring my picks, let me check if i have one in my car..." And that's it, never coming back to Namm Lol
Tom is a sick, sick player, but after about 2 mins of those speed runs it just sounds like white noise to me. I could watch/listen Greg all day. Those guitars are beautiful.
@@vanguard4065 Elitist musicians are far more stupid than you take for granted. Lots of people listen to Greg Koch, get the fuck over yourself you hipster.
Greg Koch is probably the guitarist with the most "playful" and "lively" playing of all time. In a hundred years, midi programmed music still won't be able to replicate such life.
@Cédrik Coutu watch any of their live shows. None of them can keep time. LEAST of all is Herman. Sloppy, barely discernible note playing and a bad example of what professional musicianship looks like.
@Cédrik Coutu yup, dont believe on other RU-vid Gutar Channel who worshipped DragonForce "as the greatest". I will not say the names but you'll probally know it.
Greg's articulation is insane. Also I bet Greg got to the point where he couldn't get any better from a musical standpoint, so now his practice sessions just consist of him seeing what kind of weird noises he can make on the guitar.
Koch could probably do what these other 2 guts do, but I doubt they could do what he can. Koch is always musical, he plays with lyricism and phrasing--not just shredding for its own sake. The last guy was just awful... How you can coax such bad sounds out of 10 grand worth of gear is beyond me.
Great diversatility of talent on here....The Jazz Master, The Country Shredder,The Master Technician! fantastic players in their perspective own rights! Thumbs up!
My first time hearing Greg Koch here. Wow. How inventive. I'm probably mistaken in his true influences, but parts of his playing reminiscences of Jan Akkerman, Roy Buchanan, etc. Great post. Can't wait to hear more of this player.
You're hearing the Buchanan influence correctly. I've seen videos where he talks about taking Roy's tone swells. Greg's playing is an amalgamation of a HUGE amount of players. You can't watch just this little bit and here even close to what he can do.
Man this was the first time I seen him too. I've went down the rabbit hole the last 2 years or so. He's an incredible musician. I've picked up so much just off of watching him play. The guy is critically underrated and a real Giant in modern guitar day.
Tosin, thank you very much for being a great part of the community. You have changed my outlook and so many other peoples on playing writing and imagination. Now your making your own guitars. You rock dude. Thank you
Tom Quayle is a true guitarist's guitarist, and a gentleman at that. All of the best review and demo videos I've seen were done by either Tom or Rick Graham. They're both powerhouses in their own right.
First off, I’m so glad we got to see some Greg and Tom get some love. MASSIVE PLAYERS! But at 11:40 Jason playing the tempting time lick was awesome! These modern guitar designs are really growing on me and I never thought they would lol
Greg is the best person to play these guitars, show how versatile they are, looks like he was just comfy playing!!! These guitars you are making can be used for any style. Just amazing
1:27 2:24 I swear, I love Tom's playing at the beginning (2:42 Zakk Quayle LOL! and 3:02 is sick!), and Tom's truly a "human metronome" (LOL!), but I find Greg's 4:47 onwards to be just as technically awe inspiring and - actually - more entertaining. I found myself laughing at some of the sounds he was making with that guitar (like what the heck is 4:49 "ting" bend sound!!? LOL!). Greg's such a great musical humorist!
That Space T is one of the coolest axes I've ever seen. The contrast of futuristic design with the classic "Tele" hardware is really doin' it for me. Totally bitchin.
Abasi is such a humble guy and genuinely excited about his new line of guitars. He is a genius of the instrument, yet appreciating genuinely of all these good players who are no way near his calibre
Tosin isn't as much of a god as he's cracked up to be dude. He has cool and unique techniques but someone like greg koch clearly knows the neck better and is more versatile
kock stands in a puddle of fifty year old same plain jane chicken pickin diatonic triads done to death! the guy is a musical dummy wasted his whole life on pop music.
I'm definitely going to buy one of these guitars. They are the most innovative design we've seen and heard in the last century. I'm very happy Tosin decided to build his own thing. He was pushed into making history.
hes the king of over the hill chicken pickin diatonic triad fifty year old same shit pop music. he has no knowledge of harmonic structural functions and modulations. hes a pop dummy.
@@vanguard4065 Anybody who would trash a player of Greg's ilk has two things going on with him. First off, you have no taste and clearly know next to nothing about actual guitar playing and music. Secondly and of a far more obvious nature, you're hopelessly jealous of Koch. Maybe you should go find some.
Can you imagine being Tosin? You are such a good guitarist all the other great guitarists flock to play your new guitar, they all love it, and you're just humbly kneeling on the floor personally helping them dial in their tone. Tosin is THE man.
To all of the unsung heroes of shred, arpeggio ripping, guitar masters... I raise my volume and salute you! Just think of all the time these guys spend,.... PHEW!
