Some Thoughts on Space Warfare

What do you think about planet habitability? Since every planet would be able to shoot kinetic weapons close to the speed of light to other planets and any anonymous actor would also be able to do that from a spaceship in an empty region of space, would there be any inhabited planet remaining once enough civilisations learn about each others' existence?

I am writing a sci fi universe which includes FTL travel and communications but has no artificial gravity and has newtonian physics. The main weapons on warships are actually guided munitions launched by coilguns and coilguns which launch nanoparticles. Since guided artillery projectiles have been a thing since the 70s im surprised that very few sci fi settings use them. Also one big consideration in space combat is overheating. Ddue to lack of thermal conductivity with vaccuum, the only way for spaceships to lose heat is through electromagnetic radiation, makiing overheating a huge issue. I a big design and tactical consideration will be how big a cooling system is on a ship, and how much it fires or maneuvers in order to prevent overheating. I do think space warships will be vaguely aerodynamic as in being wedge shaped instead of blocky(i.e. super star destroyer vs anything from babylon 5). This will be due to: having ab igger surface area to volume ration, allowing for better cooling -better gun firing arcs -more efficient armor, especially against lasers or particle beams, since they cant normalize. -narower profiles I do think that if humanity advances enough to create combat spaceships, there will be far more advanced armor technology, which will require bigger projectiles and mak destroying ships with shrapnel impossible. However, if space combat uses technology slightly more advanced to our current tech, one of the most devastating antiship weapons will be neutron bombs, since they'll be able to kill crew and can only be stopped by thick heavy metal armor, and because they area completely area effect.
