The mayor needs to go but that will not fix the situation in Dolton. They are clearly missing basic controls that should be in place. The trustees should not need to request access to financial data. The mayor should not be able to sign contracts or spend money without oversight and approval. Once the mayor is gone, the city needs to overhaul everything else too.
Trustee Belcher and Trustee House, I’m recognizing you two for the reason that you both stand out from the rest for several reasons, but one of the main points is honesty and integrity for your people and community that needs much more of this with the township and communities around. When I look at the situation in Dolton, I feel as if I'm looking at an experiment unfolding before my eyes. It appears as if this allowed to happen. It is unbelievable that no one from the state has stepped up to help resolve this issue.

I was surprised to watch a news clip where they were asking Dolan residents about Tahoe and the finances. Very few even knew about the issues. As far as mental health, they had a program, and Tahoe dismantled it. I can certainly understand some individuals that need mental health help for their family members voting for it.

Basically, narcissists gas light people. Her narcissistic leadership has culminated into an atmosphere of something not good. As I type my comments the proper description of what has happened is not the heart of the situation. Right off hand I am listing things that have happened. Not in any particular order. Four of the trustees did not have keys to village hall. At one point they held a meeting on the sidewalk behind village hall. Our village hall was given to us by a bank that had closed. The upstairs has window offices. The basement also has offices. Mary Kay Dxxxx is the former village clerk. She had an appropriate upstairs office. Mayor Henyard directed that Allison Keyes has a basement office. Allison Keyes shudders when she speaks about the atmosphere in village hall. Allison Keyes refuses to go to her basement office without another adult. At one point , there was a protest outside of village hall. The former chief of police discussed that future protests be scheduled. The chief of police wanted to manage staffing for a protest. The citizens have been gaslighted. An example of the mayors retaliative behaviors is directing that the village clerk has a basement office. In response to your comments about protesting, if people were to protest outside of village hall, the mayor's response to the protesters may be retaliatory. This is why Valeria Stxxxx told a media streamer...if they needed bond money to let her know. We will be very cautious about protesting.
God bless these board members. I've been following this train wreck for months because I can't stop, and I've seen their pain and frustration. These folk are trying to do the right thing, and their hands AND feet are tied. I guarantee this will end soon, but when it does, these are the fine people who will have to pick up the pieces, and it will take many years. A true shame.

I don't understand how a couple of people can run the finances amuck in a government. But I'm so glad that they are moving towards a resolution and prayerfully those that have abused the money will be brought to justice. Dolton, save yourself!!! Put laws in place to ensure that this doesn't happen again. It's disgusting to see this happen to them...yes, very shameful and disgusting.
