"Somebody That I Used to Know" - Gotye (ft. Max Schneider) 

Is it just me, or does Max always look like he's about to cry at the end of his covers? I find that fascinating, the fact that he really puts all of his emotion into the songs he sings.

Max is perfect as a singer and an actor. His face always tells a story, even better than all the guys in Glee :p

This cover has more feeling into the song than the original song xD

I love when Kurt plays the piano. He puts so emotion and passion into it. Then with Max singing it's like the best combo ever and I love it!!!

wow this is one of the angriest renditions of the song.. his voice is really good but he sounds way too angry here. somehow the tune didn't seem right any more.. but still I think he should cut an album! :D

We all have different kinds of hearing and thinking. Some people say that part was autotuned and some people don't. But, I didn't say he's a bad singer. I've been listening to Max from different kind of videos. Yes, I do agree that Max is a great singer. If I offended you guys, fine I'm sorry. No need to whine.

I hate to break this to you, don't get me wrong I'm not bashing this version it is great and I know Max can sing like no other. I am a Music Technology major I'm currently taking master level courses in audio production and I can tell you his voice has been altered in the studio. That doesn't take away from his raw talent, but the fact of the matter is ALL studios use some form of pitch correction, be that from Antares Auto-tune plug-in or Celemony's Melodyne, or any other softwares available.

Shout out to Kurt the artist you work with are great but you put it all together and show them off. Dude, its called singing in falsetto. His transition into falsetto was a little messy, that's why it sounded odd. And probably why you (wrongly) thought it was autotuned. I hate audotune as much as the next guy, but learn how to actually recognize it before you start throwing that accusation around.

Okay, so first i never said he wasn't an artist. and second i did say he generally doesn't sing not that he doesn't. So yes i did see his cover of Right Here Waiting. While he was a good singer in it. I do think his main talent is what he is doing in most of his videos, accompanying the other many good singers in his videos.

In fact, I watched -nearly-all of his videos. And he can be an artist even if he doesn't sing, he writes songs, (look at the medleys and mashups) and plays so many instruments,he also is a produce and director, he "made" the videos for the Maroon5 Medley or the Bruno Mars Medley! Sorry for my english, I'm from germany but I hope you could understand what I wanted to say.

I'm mesmerised by Kurt's piano ability! I have to agree with some previous comments max is an incredible singer. Just this isn't a song for him. I personally believe the best cover for this song is done by "walkingofftheearth". Keep it up guys! You've just got another fan and subscriber! :)

It's not autotune. It's a voice correcter that is used simply to get away from the live, raw sound. It is used in vidoes like this that are made for entertainment rather than critique. Yes, it did mess up at 0:42 but if you watch his live videos on his actual channel, he has real talent.

I can find a few problems while watching this video... First of all, the fact that I can't sing like this even if my life depended on it. And too much emotion for the media and industrial crap we hear nowadays on radio. Keep it up, guys. You guys are simply amazing, on all covers I've listened to.

he quickly changed from one tone to another. im not sure about the correct terminology, but its an ability found in great singers. your mistake in observation is however understandable since great singers are not often found in most medias.

Well than I think you haven't seen his cover of Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx. I know that he normally doesn't sing in his videos(which is a shame with such an amazing voice), but that doesn't mean that he can't sing,right?

No, but it wasn't autotune either. It was a "voice correcter". Everyone uses it, especially the really popular artists. It smooths out the voice and gets rid of the "live" sound. It does not mask his raw talent.

Obviously people who say its auto tuned don't know max. Yes maybe this song is auto tuned. But this is his real voice!!! A real artist should always sound the same whether it's live or Ina studio. And max is a real artist.
