I can and have just binged your videos when I was really sad. I stayed up until like 4am on a school night. I don't know why, but your vibes are just so 👍👍 awesome. Thank you. I appreciate it so much
This is my 44th of many times asking you to listen to the Guilty Gear Strive character themes I will ask you this every single video until you make a video of them
Doof is literally the least neglectful dad , he is literally the most involved father ever ,since he was always forgotten by his parents as a kid. That's why she thinks he's too into preserving her childhood and clingy.
By the way, the doll was something she’d wanted for YEARS, but it’s a rare doll that she couldn’t find. But Doof remembered and has been searching all this time, and this episode is when he actually finds it to give it to her. Also, Doof is actually a VERY good father. He’s just very cringey to a sixteen year old girl XD He’s not really evil, just a bit loud and weird. He’s never neglected her or treated her poorly. He loves her a lot
In case you’re curious, Buford and Baljeet are exactly as the song states, frienemies. Buford technically “bullies” Baljeet, but he doesn’t cross any lines. If Baljeet clearly states he’s upset then Buford stops. And they do actually hang out, they have fun together. Buford doesn’t let other people bully Baljeet. They know each other REALLY well, like they’ve known each other their whole lives. So no need to worry about them, they’re good.
@@erikbihari3625 eh I wouldn't call sonic and knuckles frenemies They clearly have a rivalry, but it doesn't go as far as let's say shadow and Sonic's relationship
So the thing about Phineas is he doesn't ignore Isabella. He's still a great friend and there are numerous episodes that even center around him helping her out with something, namely getting Fireside patches. He's just insanely oblivious to the fact that she is into him.
Yep, Phineas is a child who is addicted to play, he does not think about love yet. But he does show special signs of towards her, he likes her too, he's just too young to realize it.
@@jasonsmith6219 Agreed. Honestly, I hate Mission Marvel in general. It makes Candace look stupid, Isabella look helpless, and Phineas look sexist, and I'm not okay with any of those things. They should have done what they did with the Star Wars special: lean into the comedy instead of the drama. PnF as a show is consistently good at comedy, but its attempts at drama often fall a little short.
My take on the song is more so what they see in their heads than what’s going on in reality. They feel as if they’ve done nothing wrong and are being treated unfairly, and instead of communicating that they sing about it with really good harmonies. They are kids, though, so cut them some slack.
Remember that episode where they go around the world (idk what it's called, but it's a special)? When they go to paris and isabella is helping phineas get parts to fix their... vehicle, she's also trying to be romantic towards phineas, but phineas is pretty much ignoring her. And at one point he tells candace something like, "I thought, you know, a boy and a girl together in paris, I thought, you know", and isabella was doing that with phineas. Phineas is not oblivious to love, but he's just oblivious to love that's aimed at him. You should go look up that scene, it'll make more sense.
Doofenshmirtz is actually a great and dedicated father, Vanessa just finds him embarrassing and doesn't like that he's "evil". She learns to appreciate him over the series and he makes some pretty big life changes for her.
The funny thing is, Doof is only evil as a 9-5 kinda job. He isn't mean or Malice and honesty if he ever took over the tri-state area he would most likely be dedicated to making it the best it could be. Honestly he should just run for mayor, he would most likely beat his no good brother (Who really does have some skeletons in his closet)
I know you don't know but put some respect on Doofs name. He LOVES his daughter Vanessa more than anything. He is just too much and overbearing with his love, he goes about his support in a way that often embarrasses her or makes her angry. He works so hard for her approval and happiness but there is a disconnect with outcome and intention. The doll was something she asked for as a child and he never stopped searching for to make her happy, finally showing her his dedication to her
and theres a very believable reason for Doofs bahaviour as a partent considering his tragic backstory. his parents didn't care enough so he overcompensates in the other direction.
Don't you dare say that about doofensmirtz, he was an amazing father, his parents hated, abandoned and disowned him so he went out of his way to make sure he was in as much of his daughters life as possible, doing whatever he thought would make her happy, he was just an embarrassing guy to be around
LMAO LITERALLY I was waiting for him to say something especially when he first saw Thor and made a face but turns out he was just reacting to harmony 😅
Idk why i was getting so defensive of baljeet and buford during this video 😭 I didnt realize i cared so much. but yeah they kind of start off having a typical bully bullied relationship but throughout the show its shown that theyre actually really good friends. They actually have another song where they just sing about how much they miss and care about each other LOL
It'd be hilarious if their "symbiotic relationship" worked cause Buford liked to bully and hurt baljeet, and baljeet had a pain kink, lol. Definitely not tho since they're children.
Context for the "Not so bad a dad" song. Vanessa, as a child wanted a specific doll, and now, as a teenager, Doof gave it to her. Turns out, that ever since she asked him for it, he never stopped looking for one, but they were such a rarity that it took him until her teenage years to find one for her.
@@duane6386 Everyone has a job, but that's the thing with doof, being evil is the job, and at the end of the day he takes it off and is a normal person.
Yeah, they all have his hairstyle, which is the mom's hairstyle, which we now know she got from him. So now that hairstyle has a backstory, which is very weird but also very amazing
Context for Vanessa's song: She wished for that particular doll when she was 4 and now on her 16th birthday her dad finally managed to find and get that doll for her.
So the doll in 11:36 was something Vanessa (Dr.Doof's daughter) really wanted as a little kid, but these line of dolls were really rare and difficult to acquire, they were then discontinued, so she wasn't able to get it at the time. Vanessa moved on, but Doof continued searching for it all these years till he found it, Vanessa thinks she's too old for dolls now, but she still keeps the doll, cause it shows how much her dad cares for her, and she keeps it on her shelf.
Okay, so allow me to give you the Backyard Beach lore: Ferb's singing voice for this song was Danny Jacob. He was the one who wrote the theme song for The Emperor's New School, Lilo & Stitch the Series, Kim Possible, Jackie Chan Adventures, and Sonny With A Chance. He was the song producer and composer of the songs on the show, and he also did the singing for many Phineas & Ferb songs like Spa Day, My Nemesis, Phinedroids and Ferbots, All Terrain Vehicle, Ducky Momo theme song, My Undead Mummy, Ants, and My Ride from Outer Space. As for the episode, it's from Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror. It's the hottest day of summer, and Phineas doesn't want the heat to stop them from having the best day ever, and so they decide to make a beach. They started with a sandbox beach, realized it wasn't enough, so they got truckloads of sand hauled in (how did they get the ocean there? You tell me). The reason Candace is fine with it is get Jeremy's attention, who is surfing. As Jeremy is preparing his surfboard, Candace brings him a drink but is hit on the head by a falling coconut. She falls on top of a surprised crab, who then carries her off. She wins a limbo contest because of this, and gets crowned as "Queen Wahine" (Wahine is Hawaiian for woman)
"Only trying to help" is S tier, the harmonies are so good. Would be interesting to see your reaction to "I need my letter back" for another top tier Isabella song imo.
The doll is one of the most heartwarming things in the show. One Vanessa was 6, she wanted the doll, but Doof couldn’t get it for her. Ten years later, in the episode, he bought it and gave it to her. She was surprised he had remembered, to which he told her that he never stopped looking. Doof looked for a discontinued doll for a decade, nonstop.
@@erikbihari3625 brittain were sending prisoners to america first but then america didnt want them anymore so when they found australia (after some other Europeans passed on it) they decided to send the prisoners there, one of my ancestors was sent here for buying stolen hay yes there were indigenous people there first but that never stops anyone from colonising a place
‘Not yet Ferb’ is among my favorite Phineas lines 😂 like Ferb jumped the gun, but they were both fully on board with a beat down if the rizzing tactic had failed
Recall that the writers of Phineas and Ferb aren't afraid to lean into a little chaos and fun, as well as play with a bunch of genres to introduce kids to!
The creator said in a short that they charged kids to go on the roller coaster in the first episode and that’s how they funded everything for the rest of the summer
Doof's relationship with Vanessa and his ex-wife is honestly one of my favorite family dynamics in all of animation. The song was less about her realizing he's not completely evil but more understanding how much effort and attention he actually tries to and does give her. She's obviously embarrassed by him but she realized he actually does care about her a lot after spending years to find that little discontinued doll she said she wanted several years ago that she herself forgot about. Doof is evil-ish, but he'd drop all of it in an instant for his daughter.
doof and perry are enemies but theyre kinda friends too. cus perry got sad in an episode where he got replacesed for a panda. youve reacted to a song of that episode ''my nemisis'' at the end he was saying he remembered someone. that was perry
According to my extensive Phineas and Ferb research, they charged admission for the first few projects such as the beach and rollercoaster (and some later ones like the restaurant and the cruise) to fund the rest of the projects of the summer, because obviously 10 year olds don't have the money to afford all these builds. They also canonically have a website/blog where they post about their stuff and probably get ad revenue like youtubers
Love the assumption that Doof is a bad dad because he’s an evil scientist, nah dude, he’s a great dad. The one thing he fails at in that regard is that he doesn’t always listen to what Vanessa needs or wants but he genuinely tries his best to be there for her and show her that he loves her. The definition of “evil” in the PnF universe is very loose. Like, Doof is evil, but he’s not a bad person. And those two things can only really coexist in that universe lmao Now, some context for the song: Vanessa wanted that doll when she was like 7 but it was limited edition and they missed out on getting it so after that Doof never stopped looking for that doll, for years he kept checking garage sales and stuff to try and find it and finally, in this episode, he gets it and gives it to her. Now, Vanessa is now 15-16 and not really interested in the doll anymore but she realizes that her dad remembered even after all this time. The song is about her recalling moments in her life in which she may have been annoyed at her dad for one reason or another but viewing those moments in a different light, realizing that Doof has always been there for her, he was there at every school play, every competition, every achievement, he’s been there for her her entire life and he cares about her and loves her very much. The song is her acknowledging that “yeah, you’re not perfect and you may annoy or embarrass me sometimes cause you’re my dad and I’m a teenager, but I know you were never trying to and I still love you”. Vanessa and Doof don’t really have much conflict in the series, they love each other and they care about each other, whenever they do have some conflict it tends to boil down to the fact that Vanessa is a teenager and teens and their parents don’t always see eye to eye, but even then they usually end up fine by the end of the day. Doof and Vanessa’s relationship is one of my favorites in this show.
It's canon that Phineas and Ferb made so much from their rollercoaster that they can pay a lot of inventions and they invest money, and some inventions like restaurants would net them money too.
4:49, it’s from the movie Phineas and Ferb: The Movie Across the Second Dimension. In it Dr. Doofenshmirtz goes back to a parallel universe whose version of him is successful
In the context for Buford and Baljeet's number, they were really pressed for time. No seriously, they were REALLY pressed for time, they were stalling because Isabella wasn't able to perform like originally intended because she was caught with Phineas and Ferb in the middle of a battle between Ghenge Khan and a small battalion of his soldiers and a bunch of mutant potatoes who they originally just created to Rapid grow and harvest for the dinner at the retirement hone where Isabella's grandmother invited them to cone see her perform and in exchange Linda and Lawerence Flynn-Fletcher were going to help by providing the potatoes needed for the after show dinner potluck. But some of Buford's DNA from his saliva accidentally got mixed into the potatoes and they came to life after becing exposed to Dr. Doofenshmirtz's latest Inator Shenanigans which he originally used to bring back the Mongolian Empirial army and that's why the two of them ended up battling each other throughout town and why the boys and Isabella were busy trying to send the Mongolians back and undo their accidentally created Mutant Potatoes In fact literally right after Buford and Baljeet finished there number the very second the video there cuts away, they all come crashing through the wall of the retirement home lobby where more chaos and Deus Ex Machina ensues. . . . Don't ask, just trust me in this one. It makes a lot more sense if ya watch the whole episode. Just go watch all 4+ seasons and the movies and extended episode specials of over like 365 episodes from over 9 years of this cartoon running. The lore and Disney goes deep with this one. And I don't just mean the MANY mining and excavation and cave monster and mole people and fossil and deep sea and Deep Space exploration related episodes. 🦊💦
Doofenshmirtz is a phenomenal Dad. In the show he got a really sad backstory of bullying and loneliness, but instead of projecting it onto his daughter, he tries to give her the life he never had. She is 16 in the show and wished for that doll when she was 7. Doof gave her the puppet and told her that he never stopped looking for it and that made her appreciate her dad more
Vanessa doesn't like that her Dad is "evil" and builds all these awful machines, but she really appreciates that her Dad cares so much. He's too much in every way, too evil, too obnoxious, too loud, too embarrassing, and as a teenager that's really annoying but he cares, he loves her, he came to all her swim meets and recitals, taught her how to drive even when her parents are divorced. She really loves her Dad. But he's also embarrassing so she doesn't admit to it. And she kind of dislikes him. But she also really loves him.
Love your Phineas and Ferb reactions, for recommendations of songs that are pretty good and explain parts of the context and relationships in the show very well I would recommend: Drusselstein Driving Test Waltz, When We Didn't Get Along, and Rubber Bands, Rubber Balls. And for songs from when they are on the other dimension I recommend All the Convoluted Reasons We Pretend to be divorced and Robot Riot (Extended Version).
I'm surprised that no one suggested doing the four Love Handle Songs in that episode as a set, Fabulous, Danny's Story, Ain't Got Rhythm and You Snuck Your Way Right Into My Heart.
There’s a scene in P&F Save Summer where Buford says something along the lines of “Phineas is yelling at his sister again, this must be one of those special kind of episodes” which is hilarious because he also yells at her in Mission Marvel and Summer Belongs To You
14:48, within the context of the episode, it made more sense in relation to Candace. Since she inadvertently caused huge problems while trying to help and Phineas angrily snapped at her for it
Context for Vanessa's song, Not So Bad A Dad, that doll she has was incredibly popular when she was six. She wanted one so badly, but literally everyone else did, too, so it was impossible to find. It has been an entire decade since then, and as expected, Vanessa forgot about the doll. But Doof did not. For that entire decade, he has been looking for that doll for his daughter because he knew she wanted one. 10 ENTIRE YEARS!!! At the beginning of the episode, he gifts the doll to her after finally finding it and wrestling someone else's father for it. This act of devotion is what sparks Vanessa's song. Doof isn't a perfect dad, but he really tries, and it can be overbearing at times. He wants her to have a childhood because he never got one, as you have seen. I guess that's what makes him not so bad a dad after all.
The story behind Not So Bad A Dad is that when Vanessa was six, she wanted a doll and Heinz spent ten years looking for it and finally found one. She didn’t really like him as a dad that much and her parents are split up. After she got the doll that he had been looking for all these years, she reflected on the good memories with her dad and realized that the things she found embarrassing was actually done out of his love for her.
I would argue that an alternate self is not yourself. Because if an alternate version of you does something evil, you aren’t responsible for it. At some point the alternate part of an alternate universe means there are some sort of differences. So yeah, not the same person.
i always felt bad for doofenshmirtz as a kid because he is NOT a bad dad! he tries really hard to make sure his daughter is loved and protected and makes sure he's involved in her life so that she doesn't feel neglected or unloved, like he did growing up. vanessa is just a 16-year-old who thinks EVERYTHING her dad does is embarrassing lmao. she thinks he's *too* involved and wants him to be less affectionate because she's a teenager and doesn't want people to think she's a "baby" who needs her dad (which is why she was mad at him clapping too loud at her recital; he was supporting her "too much", drawing other peoples attention to just how proud of her he was, and she was embarrassed). their dynamic has always been one of my favourite little side-plots, even if i don't remember it being delved into too often, because most people would assume what mathew did - that doof was neglectful, too focused on his inventions, and always trying to be the centre of attention because he's supposed to be the shows' villain - when actually, it's the complete opposite!
I'm so glad you were able to appreciate Fabulous for the banger it is. It gets outshone a lot by Ain't Got Rhythm from the same episode, but the disco vibes and gassing up make it so much more ~fabulous~ to me. Hope you continue on the Phineas and Ferb song wagon!
About the doll Doof gave his daughter, the story is that ever since she asked for it years ago, he has never stopped looking for it because it was no longer produced and was kinda a collector's item. About the "Only trying to help" song, the story is that Candace was too eager to help (because she's a fangirl of the Marvel heroes, and as you could see they were there) and only caused a mess by making them have eachothers powers (cue Thor on the ceiling) and "Hulkifying Baljeet", while Isabella is just seen as not fit for manual work and was simply ignored.
I feel like sometimes you have to read between the lines, like when they are talking about the not so bad dad song. This is her conceding that she was wrong and that doofenshmirtz is a good dad, even if she didn’t realize it at first
The Fabulous is from the episode where the boys AND CANDANCE work together to help their dad with their wedding anniversary by getting band that both parents loved back together. The base player of that band turned out to be their mom's hairdresser and candance was on distraction duty hence showing things in her face.
Yay more P&F songs! I love this show! Context on backyard beach: Candice likes Jeremy and he danced with her in the songs video. Also yes that is their backyard xD You should watch the song called "Hole in my Heart" to get more context on Baljeet and Buford!
Love the Phineas and Ferb song reactions!!! Some recommendations for future songs: Weaponry, I'm Lindana and I Wanna Have Fun, All the Convoluted Reasons We Pretend to be Divorced, One Good Scare Ought to Do It!, and In the Empire (from the Star Wars special)
Only Trying To Help has always felt like a weird song to me. Because whilst it's a really good and well performed song it also feels really shoe-horned into that episode, as the events that lead up to them singing it feels like bad writing and characters being out of character, just so that Candace and Isabella has a reason to sing this song.
Doofenshmirtz is actually an amazing dad. What she's complaining about is the fact that he's a bit too clingy for her taste and tries a bit too hard. He's trying to give her the childhood that he never got from his parents. So he tends to go overboard and be overprotective and a little smothering. That's what the phone is saying. If you watch the show you'd realize he's actually an amazing dad who's trying really hard to show his daughter how much he loves her. He's also not so good at being evil. He's more goofy than anything. But she's a teenager who thinks her dad's just trying too hard. Problem is she doesn't know what his childhood was like and thus that he's overcompensating for it by making sure she doesn't have the shity childhood he had. If anything he's showing the love for her that he wishes his own mother and father had shown for him. He's the kind of father that fathers should be. Basically what happened here was that he spent 10 years looking for that doll that she said she wanted at seven years old. And now he finally found it. That's shows just how much he listens to her. He spent 10 years looking for a toy she said she wanted all those years ago because it was important to her. There's nothing he won't do for her.
You will be relieved to know that shortly after Isabella and Candace's duet, they do go off and save everything. It's from the Marvel and Phineas and Ferb crossover. (Which I highly recommend. All the crossovers are pretty darn fantastic.)
18:03 after seeing what phineas and ferb are capable of I wouldn’t expect that to be some toy, it’s probably sharper than they were back in the Medieval days
YES! Finally! Backyard beach is one on my favourites and yes they build a whole beach in their backyard. Don't ask how, they're kids that built a time machine and a roller coaster that goes outside the Earth's atmosphere! Also at this point you should just react to the show. It would be fun to see you react to some of the scenes you've already seen, but this time in context.
I've watched every Phineas and Ferb episode, it's kind of funny seeing you try and guess what's happening out of context, while I know the context behind what's happening lol
I'm so happy you did another one of these!!! I hope we see another one of these because they're all so much fun to watch! Also your nails looked *Fabulous* :D
Eminem has been real quiet since Ferb dropped Backyard Beach. So Brand New Best Friend is from the first Phineas & Ferb movie called Across the 2nd Dimension from 2011. I'm not gonna give away the whole plot since I highly recommend watching the whole thing as it's a work of art, but basically Phineas, Ferb, and Perry follow Dr. Doofenshmirtz through his "Otherdimensionator" and find themselves in an alternate universe where Doof actually rules the Tri-State Area. Phineas and Ferb learned about Doofenshmirtz because their shuttlecock accidentally ended up at his HQ And yes, llamas are considered camelids. Although they lack humps, llamas are intelligent and gregarious herbivores, but when aggravated, over-burdened or other-wise annoyed, they tend to hiss, spit, kick, and refuse to move, often lying down in protest. Just like camels! They also have three-chambered stomachs just like camels as well.
Doofenshmirtz is widely known as one of the best cartoon fathers of all time. Also if I'm remembering correctly she wanted that doll as a kid and he was looking for it for years and got it for her? I may be wrong
Someone else has probably already said this, but Backyard Beach is only Ferb and it's the very first song from the very first episode. I love this song because I was so confused afterwards like "He sang in the first episode why isn't he talking?" 😂 but you know what his voice sounds like so you know when it's him later and why it's special. Also also Candace is super chill and just let's the boys do crazy things which is not the norm for her either. For a show that stays in it's very obvious routine for so long I like this first episode for subverting your expectations a bit.
Just wanted to say you're one of my most favourite youtubers. Your reactions are so pure and I love how you try not to be rude or disrespectful, but rather genuinely enjoy what you're watching, even if you have no clue of what's happening at all. It's just... so nice and refreshing. Thank you :)
