Glad you're all unharmed! Some take-aways: - Install a camera that sends a feed to your phone, triggered by movement inside or out. - have all your documents scanned and saved on the cloud (Google Drive or something like that) - Insure all your expensive equipment - Maybe make a lock-box for the most important things that cannot be easily removed - Never show exactly what stuff you have on video, change 'hiding' places for what is left and what you buy. If someone's watching they may have an idea, your car is very recognisable. Your livelyhood depends on the content you make, so make sure you save videos and photos you take as soon as you can, and maybe also invest in cloud storage for it just in case. At least for unreleased stuff. Good luck, hope you'll recover soon!
I was deeply saddened to hear about the robbery incident that you experienced during your trip to Italy. It's unfortunate that such a negative event occurred during what should have been a joyous and memorable journey. Despite the setback, I want to commend you both for your resilience and positivity in the aftermath of the incident. Your courage and determination to continue with your trip is truly inspiring, and I believe that your experience will only serve to make you stronger and more prepared for any challenges that come your way in the future.
Essential to have a hidden lock box in your camper and put dead locks on all doors. The dead locks means they have to go in through the windows and a lot of scummy people do not want to get trapped inside if the owners come back and catch them at it. Love your Sammy, reminds me of my Sammy I had many years ago.
Unfortunately, the reality is that one should NEVER leave a car full of valuables unattended in deserted places, as it's too tempting for criminals (all they have to do is shatter a window or break a door). I had a similar experience and it was appalling. I hope everything is fine again with you guys. 🥰
It is really sad that you guys had to go through this terrible experience 🥺 Glad to hear that three of you are safe and sound… Kudos to you both to be so positive about this incident and wishing you a lot of strength 💪🏻
Glad you are alright and Felix as well! So sorry for what happened, hopefully you can recover the stuff you need with time. Sending you love and good vibes!
I have a large Rottweiler and Pitbull in my van. They are social but very protective when I’m gone. Idk why but my coworker came up to my van at work and my Rottweiler(male) lunged at him barking at the window when I wasn’t there. He told me and I just laughed with him. Minus dealing with poop and pee sometimes, they have a spot they go.
To be broken into one minute after leaving, it was someone was right there, watching you with your doors open, someone parked next to you, they saw what was visible , which was cameras, and they saw you walk away, and got in and got out and drove away fast. Get a small safe fitted, enough for camera and tech equip and get it bolted from the inside, bolted to the flooring and hidden away
Totally understand your feelings of vulnerability and invasion of privacy...I am travel by cargo bicycle and tent and people have rummaged through my things on multiple occasions. I've learned that I have to keep my most valuable/irreplaceable items with me AT ALL TIMES, even if I'm simply running to the toilet. #life
You need car alarm.....also you need to hide a gps tracker inside in case whole van is stolen or towed away...also a safe inside to lock cameras and passports inside
im so sorry that happened, we had my house robbed once it was very painful, but like you, we were grateful we was't home because we could have been killed if they had guns. you guys are so precious, stay positive, keep bringing us beautiful videos. Much love and blessings to you!
I was broken into in Portland. The thieves stole everything - my laptop, camera, passport, power stations, and all my clothes. It ended up being over $10,000 of stuff. It’s a really awful feeling and I definitely have a harder time sleeping now when I travel.
You must put cameras inside and outside the van to be more secure. Especially the ones with intercommunication. By that you can check it and also speak to whoever is inside the van, meaning that you could even speak to the robbers saying that the police is on their way, etc. things like that…
Camper Vans are a sitting target for thieves. So sorry you are learning many people aren’t as honest as you. Safe travels and keep your positive attitude
So sorry to hear about what has happened. Glad that none of you were harmed in anyway. This was really unfortunate but i guess an optimistic way to look at this is that at least the damage is repairable (stolen items can still be replaced). Please take care guys.
There are lowlifes everywhere. I just installed Thule sliding locks on both my front doors, and padlocked ones on the sliding and rear doors. They are also a visual deterrent, unlike an alarm. I also bought some cameras which I will install. If I park somewhere remote like a beach or camp site I take photos of nearby cars just in case. Next time you will know not to leave your car whilst others are around.
I have lived in Italy. We were warned before going that "they" will steal. The movers did steal, had our car broke into after Christmas shopping, when we stopped off at Dr. to pick up papers. 3 mins. Will never go back. Shitty Country.
So sorry guys, I think that if you left the car cover on the bus , that it sends a message to would be thieves that someone is gone for a longer period of time. Keep up your hard work, I love your channel, GREETINGS from Southern California, this is Alan.
I'll feel your pain. My T2 got broken into during a European tour. They left our ID documents, but just took our traveller's cheques.(it was in 1993!). We had only left the van for 30 minutes. Message me for some short-term solutions. It's just an awful experience
I am so very sorry for your loss. But, both of you are are ok. Your Pass Ports were the thing. I prey that they don't do anything with them. Please be safe.
It really annoys me that stuff like this keeps happening. However, I don't get it that you leave all the valuables in your van. I take everything with me in a rucksack, I'm not interested in whether it's heavy or not.
So sorry to hear your sad news and this is the first video I’ve seen of yours so far. You will love Amalfi. Catch the ferry from Sorrento over to Capri if you can. Well worth it. When you can get some dead locks fitted and cctv too. I will watch and like your other vids too. I’m from Llanelli in Wales uk. My great grandfather was from Regensburg and my father when he was alive could speak fluent German. Schuss
Glad you are safe and sound. good you have an alarm. I once caught a thief and he was so scared that he ran up a 30 degree slope in 1 meter of snow about 10 meters with tools in both arms. ha ha I have never laughed so much. ha ha. Hope you have travel and car insurance. Good luck on your trip and God be with you.😊🇧🇻😎
Glad you are safe, but when 2 people are travelling in a van, it's easy to tell their life is in the van! Please don't leave the dog in the van again!!
What helped me is putting a chain with a lock in the cab area holding both doors together. And use air horn and pepper gel… they were breaking in while I was getting ready for bed… I had to install an alarm system, lock the cab area with a chain and lock…
OMGosh, I just read about a hex chain to lock doors inside! Motion centered flood lights, life lights are blinding, as well as those blinding flashlights they sell! Did you spray them?
I am so sorry this happened. Stolen goods are CURSED. They might as well be radioactive. The thieves will not be blessed by what they think they gained!
Thankfully you guys and Felix are ok! 🙏 So sorry this has happened! 💔 But even in such bad times, you guys still have the best attitudes! Much love❣️🙏🐾❤️
I hide air tags or tracking tiles in everything. If they would’ve taken the laptop, you could’ve found them when they turned it on and connected to internet.
Put a Walkie Talkie on the Bus when you leave it and carry the other one with you. If you get an alert you can yell at the perp as you run back to your vehicle.
Learn how you can install double locks from the inside for vanlife. Saw some American vanlifers installing it.. would help a lot.. and also anti break window tinting
I got a weird feeling that this video is all about add campaign for van security system… n hope it’s just that or else it’s very bad n sorry to see like this 😢 I hope those thieves are watching this n may return your belongings ❤
First I must say you are such a lovely couple and your dog is absolutely adorable. So terribly sorry that someone broke in and stole your stuff but at least you have the most important things it seems. Always a great idea to put your things in the back or under as many things as you can in the back so that they're harder to access. Another thing I would highly suggest is that you could find a good mechanic just to put what they call a kill switch on the fuel pump of your vehicle and have the switch under your dash or in an inconspicuous area that way when you park your van you turn the switch off and even if someone were to hotwire it, it won't go anywhere because the fuel pump won't work. Sounds like a crazy idea but I promise you it's massive piece of mind. Good luck in your future journeys. Stay safe 🙏
You have our sympathy You have our sympathy. It happened to us in the Netherlands, and we were inside at the time! Wild chase naked through the car park, not to be repeated.
So so sorry I was so upset to see this video your such a lovely beautiful couple and things will get better and I hope they catch the bummers, please put it behind you you have eachother god bless you both 🙏
USE this event as a WAKE UP call: I have a steel lock box in my van, dbl. locked. And Decals on the outside that say: "If you can read this, you're on Video/Wifi SECURITY Cameras/Smile- and FUCK OFF". Right to my IPhone.
In a Van like yours you should have invested for some external CCTV. Glad you both and your dog are fine. Glad you can smile. This video made me realise that I should also invest in security for my Van. Take care and safe trips
We’re so sorry this happened to you. There are some horrible people around! At least you guys are ok. Thank goodness you didn’t leave felix. Here’s to better times for you 🍻

Glad all of you are ok. But hey, what’s the car alarm thingy you used to detect the break in? I need that thing
I'm so sorry!! People can be so cruel and heartless!!! I am glad it wasn't worse. You have such good, positive attitudes about it, that is so commendable!! So happy you are all safe!!! I believe in karma so they will get theirs!!! God bless you and my thoughts, prayers and love are with you!!! Your pup is SOoooo gorgeous!!✌🏼🧡
I'm so sorry for you guys 😢 same thing happened to me in Italy, 70 km on the South from Rome last year. Only mentally poor people can do sth like that to others Sending lots of love Julia
For the goPro that have a Gps I believe, can that be track? The Drone also have a registration that it have to communicate with the system via satellite in order to take off. That can also be track with your Dron App. I hope I'm right about this, I also will be traveling and have a lot of important items. I hope you may recuperate.
I’m so sorry that this happened to you guys. Its very lucky Felix was with you guys. I understand the feeling, my car got broken into years ago. It took awhile for me get back to feeling comfortable again.
So sorry about someone breaking into your van home. I'm.praying for your safety and that the robbers will meet their consequences for being bad. Happier travelers. ❤😊
Thanks for sharing,I’m in Australia and like you said it happens everywhere we hav a kombi also and love to do camping, we will be more careful about security 😊 god bless
So sorry this happened to you guys! I would gladly contribute to a fund to help you buy new camera gear, power packs and whatever else you need if you can set one up!
So Sad, sorry about what happened. My house also been robbed before and you do feel invaded, and un easy for a long time, hope for the best, it's terrible people won't get far in life doing this to you. 💕
At least you Guy's are OK. I never ever leave my Passport etc. You have to make a safe spot inside the van out of sight & out of mind. My own Niece didn't listen, she lost her nice Coach Bag, they broke her side window on her car, while she was walking dogs, she is a dog walker. She said the Coach bag was tucked behind the seat, that doesn't matter, they steal anything. I have never had this issue & why? I really look around my surroundings before camping, if it doesn't look or feel right, I pass it by. And other campers can be the worst thieves ever. Just be proactive, not paranoid. Live life!!! Idea get some AirTags for I-Phones, you can track them down by GPS. 🌲☘🌲☘🌳🍀🌳🍀🌲🍀🌳
Them Vw camper vans are very easy to brake into but you can have dead locks fitted to make it more secure I’m a vw mechanic so i have done many rebuilds on them vw campers .
My friend lives in Prague and he imported his VW van from America. There is a wonderful VW club there and I am sure someone can help you repair the van and upgrade your security.
It was great to meet you on Sunday. One thing other you learnt, is seagulling, and what park up sites to avoid in Surrey. Keep up the great work on your channel
Sorry to see this, but if it is your first break in you have been lucky upto now. Twice now all my windows have been shamed and door locks broken, even having picture of 4 guys from an internal camera linked to a top end security system still doesn't get your gear back. Police do their bit and file the lot never to be seen again. At least your not hurt and your van is still drivable without the massive cost and hassle of replacing glass. The feeling you mentioned about leaving your van out of your sight will take ages to feel any better. All you can do is as you say stay positive, but be warned the world is not a trusting place anymore and remembering your van is not a safe but a very thin tin box now they are battery angle grinders around that can cut through them like a knife in butter. I have even seen outside back door hinges which a lot of vans have cut through, then the whole door lifts out, and even seen where cutting around the back door lock quietly with tin snips where a simple push bar operates the central locking to open on modern vans.
I am so sorry. This happened to me in Milan, years ago. I‘ll never forget that stomach sinking feeling when I saw something on the floor outside the car and realised it was something of mine. They chose what to take, and it was all my stuff. I hope you’re already able to enjoy yourselves again and won’t let this affect you too much. It happens to so many people and the thieves are disgusting to do this to you. Best wishes and hugs xx
I’m so sorry that has happened to you. My wife and I thought about traveling around like you both are doing, but it’s what you and so many others have experienced derailed our plans. It’s not a matter of if it happens, but when. Years ago when I was involved in photography, I traveled around, but not without full insurance coverage on my gear. Now when we do go on a vacation, all we carry is a GoPro and Osmo Pocket. Long gone are the days of traveling around with heavy bulky camera gear. I wish you both well in your continued adventures and that nothing like this happens again.
Hi Guys I liked and subscribed and will share too , maybe all of this was meant to be ❤ I love your posisitive attitude . ❤❤ Natalie from Niagara falls.
