Hey, I wouldn't complain about that beach cache! Better than a sharp poke in the eye! ;) Yeah, you don't just lose that amount of change out of your pocket by sitting down. Maybe it was eccentric old grandpaw's coin collection and they just didn't know what to do with them? I should be so lucky! Great job! Keep them coming!
Ha ha..it was fun watching you dig all those coins I seeded! While you were distracted on those...I was detecting up further getting the all the gold jewelry...LOL!
Nice Ryan, I found a cache like that scattered over 400 square ft on a school yard, was the result of a break in in the neighborhood and the culprits exited through the school yard and tossed all the strange coin, 😀 I had a blast diggin' em!! 😅😅😅
Two years ago I detected Miracle Ear box with 88 coins and a large cross and chain in it. 22 of the coins were silver and some were US but mainly foreign. It was a real hoot to find.
Nice hunt Ryan, I don't know what to say about the coin spill it was very interesting. My latest finds is a no date buffalo head nickel and a 1942 mercury dime, a 1883 IHP, a Bulova woman's watch with diamonds, and a 8.9 gram silver ring 👊👊👊
I think it was a sort of time capsule, most people don't think any area would be searched so much. They probably thought in the future it would be valuable to the finder, maybe bring riches to the finder. Who knows. Thanks for the video.
What an unusual hunt! Loved it. I think D.B. Cooper’s plane crew is working the Canadian skies! It’s been a minute or two since you’ve found a Canadian Flag pin.
I had a similar experience in Kure Beach NC. I found 40 stainless steel rings in a 50 yard stretch of the beach. Jokes on them though, I sold 30 of them for 3 dollars each and 1 for 26 bucks.
A lot of ring mounts for diamonds the part with the stone is rhodium plated over white gold and the set in the shank or band of the ring it helps the flash of the diamond or sparkle. Nice hunt.
Ryan, Interesting video. The only thing you didn't find was the treasure chest that held all those foreign coins. I kept waiting for the ghost of Alan Funt to step out and tell you that you were on Candid Camera. I'd like to here the back story of how those coins ended up on that beach.
I have had so much fun detecting my local park, once me and my buddies had it picked of all the good stuff, I started burying coins just so someone else in the future could experience what I have experienced. The way I see it, someone else dropped coins there for me to find...😁
Another interesting hunt R-Dogg. I'm kinda baffled about the massive coin spill too. Especially old coins, with silver mixed in. Wondering about the back story on that one. Thanks for a very entertaining video! See you in the next one!
Definitely bezzar on the foreign coins🤔. I hope they are worth a little bit anyway. Thanks for another great video. I won the tiger eye ring a while back and tonight I was viewer #1. Super exciting
I love finding foreign coins. Used to have quite a collection of them until some people stole them from me, along with all the american silver coins i had collected when i was a kid. I knew who had taken them when they gave me some change to get them something from the store and they accidentally included a steel penny from 1943 that had a distinctive chunk cut out of the side of it. That alone wouldnt have been enough proof but they had sold the smerican silver to a guy who was to become my husband. You eould think that my to be husband would have given them back to me but he didnt. That should have been the first red flag for me but i dodnt realize how much that man would steal from me in the years to come. Oh well. For some reason people like to steal from me. You finding that pike of coins just made me very happy. :)
Thanks Ryan - always fun. Sorry about your "give-a-damn being busted" in this video. Your fun level dropped significantly! But we will always be back! Chuck in NE Kansas PS - beautiful ring there on your right ring finger, show more of it next time and give us the story, please. 🙂
I found a spill like that, obviously not that impressive though, on a sand volleyball court last year. Just a bunch of pennies, nickels, and dimes though. I bet I picked up 50 of them. My best guess is a parent was letting their kid play with all the change from the center console of the car while the Parent played volleyball??? Anyway, Gold on the Beach, Gotta Love It!
I get some great foreign coin 'spills' here in the UK quite regularly, I had over 120 Spanish pesetas in one lot and I recently found 32 coins from 6 different countries....4 of them Silver and 2 50% silver. I initially thought it was people emptying their change jar from their foreign holidays but I've had a lot of freshly dropped pre 1960s British coins which look more like they're from someones collection?
i was on Vancouver Island for 8 days. hit up about 6 beaches and ended up with only lik $10 in clad. no rings. I did find a cooper lipstick. that coin spill seems like a kid who hid some treasure. who knows but very cool
I once dug over 100 pennies in a 15 inch circle.I quit because.I did not want to ruin the grass. Later I dug up 20 more. Enjoy the coinage and tell the tale!
Well, they weren't necessarily targeting you to find the coins, there are a lot of detectorists out there in and around the Okanagan. Maybe they just wanted to bring joy to some young person detecting. Yes, it would have been exciting to find it in a little container with a note of some sort. Nice finds otherwise.
It's not unusual to see white gold prongs on a gold ring. White gold can be made stronger and the color enhances the look of a diamond to make it seem bigger. Maybe someone seeded all those coins for their kid to play with his toy metal detector. I did that when my granddaughter started detecting...give them the fever young. 🙂 The coins are probably what the parent or grandparent has found while detecting. I have a jar full, myself.
OK man you gave me the bug ! I'm buying a metal detector ! Do you have any suggestions for a beginner as to what would be a good machine to start with ?
Good morning! I had a question for you. I have an Equanox 800 that I've been using in parks. I just got a CKG sand scoop and want to do some fresh water beach hunts out in the water. Do I have to get/use waterproof headphones in order to it in the water? I know the 'Beach' mode is set up for mineralized soil - would I also use that setting for any water hunts, even fresh water? Thanks for any input you can give. I'm excited to see what is in the sand under the water.
If you are going to submerge your nox completely you will need waterproof headphones as the water will block the signal to your wireless headphones. your machine will run the same in the freshwater as it does on land, I only use beach mode in saltwater. Good Luck!
I think an angry Little Wifey took Hubbies coin collection .... then maybe told him where they were at and that she had scattered them everywhere! oops! You showed up before Hubby 😀🤣
