It’s been a week since the filming of this and the swing change felt really weird at first but it’s slowly becoming more natural. Played today and hit it really well. Excited for y’all to see the content
Clearing the hands faster it seems followed with the rotation. It looks good though. As long as your flight is consistent then adjust. That's all you can ask for.
You can see the swing change in action. Though you may want to pay more attention to the tornado sirens... The wind could be picking up quickly... The outtakes at the end were awesome!
I'm working on three things myself. 1: Exhale at point of impact instead of inhale. (gain ten yards easy) 2: To always pronate or supinate, what?, I have no idea. (yardage may vary) 3: To play a ball with a higher coefficient of restitution, so that I may carry that water hazard once in a while. (I hate it when I forget to bring my ball picker)
It's hard to play while undergoing swing changes! I took lessons this winter & stopped playing for awhile because it was too tempting to revert to the old habits in an attempt to score.
Garrett, as a 55 yr old who has given up MOST caffeine, let me say you can do it! I limit myself to one cup of coffee in the morning, nothing else rest of the day. My wife and I gave up sodas years ago, and although it's been tough for me to give up Lipton Sweet ice tea (was drinking a bottle every day), it can be done. Now almost four months without it, not only fewer trips to the bathroom, but your gut will thank you as well. My novice eye cannot pick up what you're working on, but whatever it is stick with it. I'm sure Cameron will steer you in the right direction!
Bro idk why y’all think people click off when you or someone else is losing majorly, the content is still🔥always gotta watch until the end! Keep up the good work brother
Is any part of the swing change working on keeping the hips/lower body more stable on the backswing? Doesn’t look like you’re swaying as much and keep the belt buckle a bit more pointed at the ball on the backswing
I feel you Garrett. Up to early last year, I had been playing a really cupped wrist for 14+ years. I'm now finally getting away from that habit, and also working on the timing at the bottom. Swing changes are tough, but I can already feel how much more stable and consistent the shot shape is now. Keep on keeping on! Kwon, beggers can't be choosers.... is the correct way to say it.😁
Totally understand the swing change part after coming back to pursuing some competitive golf Chris O’ Connell has me going through switching to a cut as the stock shot and it’s taking time. Hope to run into you guys at some point around here.
I believe the swing change has to do with Garrett getting to his left side at finish or just sequencing in general. He hangs back to much and has to rely on his (excellent) hands to get the timing correct. That's why his big miss is a hook usually and at finish on a driver swing he sort of looks like he just swung a baseball bat, not a driver.
Hey Garrett, the camera you're using on this video for zooms, and used on the 4.5m D1 video has an issue/smudge/scratch on the lens. As an example [7:09] left of the orange marker on the bottom right hand side, you can see it easier as the shot zooms across the water to the green. Just a heads up. Great content as always. (and yes I did check it wasn't my screen :))
G, with caffeine, I have found that if I avoid it until late in the morning, and keep to 20oz or less, I avoid the negative attributes. Not sure how founded this is, but it works so well for me.
I gave up caffeine a while back (now back to 1 coffee a day), highly recommend looking into bulletproof coffee for breakfast. Changed the game for me, no jitters or anxiety
Always get pumped for these matches! On a side note, am I the only one who wishes not to have spoilers in the thumbnail title? After the 1st hole, I kinda just fast forwarded thru and lost interest. I don’t know the so-called RU-vid algorithm but do people like the spoilers in the title? Same thing with the break 65 series.
Caffeine - I'm in my 7th decade of drinking good ol' fashioned American style coffee. I can get just the boost I need. One more cup if I slept short, or if I'm driving. I can stay just wired and not antsy. I like espresso, and I experimented with energy drinks, but I can't get that precise control.
For the record, beggars can't be choosey is both grammatical and expresses the exact sentiment. Language evolves and Kwan just contributed to that evolution.
Kwon, you played good golf. You nailed your pick for the masters. Unfortunately you get an F not a little f but a capital F on beggars can’t be choosy. Although that’s an A capital A for originality and effort.
Garrett's gotta be working on hip rotation/wight transfer at the very least. Them funky-ass hips been stopping just before impact for along time. Next is a body based swing "feel" for more consistency and fewer hooks. Not sure on the 3rd one...maybe that jabby putting stroke? But it worked for Stricker.
I say it like Luke, beggars can't be choosy. No one says "dude your being a chooser". It's literally the act of being choosy. More grammatically correct
Y'all got it all wrong. The original saying is "Beggars can't be choosers". However, the OG, Slim Shady, uses the phrase "guess beggars can't be choosy" in his lyrics for "The Monster". Thus, we can conclude that Garrett reads books and Kwon listens to Eminem.
I'm sure I'm way off. But your hands look lower in the backswing. At least with the driver. Plus it doesn't seem like you are rocking back and forth as much during your swing. Guessing working on quieting the lower body down a touch.
Wish you luck on the caffeine Garett, not sure if you listen to Roman Atwood podcast but he’s been doing it for a year and says he still craves it every day
